Thanks for showing us this mat. It’s great to see crafting products being made in Australia. 💕

I love how easy it is to clean up! And it's the white background that I've been after it's easy to see colours on. Thanks so much for your lovely visit here today Maree!

Thank you for review this. I have been looking at it for some time to replace my current scratched one. Love there was no reflection so I need to get my lighting right for when I do my Chibitronic videos. Thanks again I will seriously look into it now.

I did have to change the angle of my lights. If you have them directly on the mat you will be able to see them. Hope this helps, it is a great mat! Wow! Chibtronics you must be clever, I have only used pre made light set ups lol.

I love my glass mat BUT it's black, and while it always looks clean, if it's not .... Well you know where I am going with that 😀 Being magnetic is a bonus

I didn't know the TH mat wasn't magnetic, and it is a good but not an essential feature... but it is, dare I say... white 😉

Thanks Therese. I've had a magnetic Glass mat from Glass Board Studio for several years and have never tried all of these techniques before. I do love it because it makes clean- up so easy and my mat has beautiful flowers in a couple of the corners of the mat.

I have a black glass mat but boy I wish I had waited for the white ones to come out!!

That was the main reason why I didn't buy the TH mat, I thought the black mat would be too reflective... and the white section didn't really appeal at the time, though I think it's perfect if you are into mixed media, which is who I think the mat is really focused towards. The glass is lovely to work on, I am enjoying that myself. Thanks for popping in for a chat Wendy, Crafty hugs, Therese

Looks ideal Therese and being magnetic is a bonus. Great to see we can get these in Australia now. Shipping from the States can be such a killer. Have a great day.

When I looked onto buying the US version, I couldn't justify it with the price conversion and postage. So happy there is now an option here!

Therese, this looks like a great product. I’m in the US so, obviously, can buy one of the many glass mats available here. I love those magnets (pawns 😂) though! Maybe if they had a little sticky on the top you could put your paper on them to dry with a heat tool. I’m going to look for magnets like those!

This looks amazing & beats the current paper pad mat I currently use - very old school here. So glad there is an Aussie version now! A question, what is it like stamping on card stock with photopolymer stamps if you are not using a stamping platform like a Misti? As there is no sort of cushioning I wonder if you get a good stamped image or not - just for those times when you use an acrylic block? Have a wonderful week. Cheers Donna Z

I agree Donna, it's a great option for us!! And, I did try direct stamping with a block with no problems at all. Although I know that some people prefer some cushioning, it didn't make any difference than stamping on my cutting mat. I do imagine that your paper pad will have a little more 'give' so you may need to play a little bit with pressure initially, but I'm sure you will be all over it! Let me know if you have any further questions. Crafty hugs, Therese

I've been using a glass mat for years and considered a magnetic mat, but when I see people use magnetic mats (not necessarily glass), the magnets always seem to get in the way. The grip mats generally work better, I think, for stenciling. While dip and dab techniques work on a glass mat, as Tim Holtz demonstrates, different surfaces will provide smaller spots (if that's what you want) with easy cleanup. You've demonstrated all the things I like about my glass mat, but even when the magnetic mats were on sale, I just couldn't convince myself it was worth it. (And yes, my glass mat has annoying scratches from having cut into it.) Thanks for sharing!

Yes, that is where the sticky grid mat comes in to its own, it ticks boxes without the magnets. I have found I use the magnets only on a couple of corners or just to hold things down. I found the same with the Wendy vecchi staytion too.

it looks fabulous. I have a besta glass shelf from Ikea, not magnetic though but glass I put ontop of my cuttingmat, which is not whitem this seems ideal

Yes, I am loving the white background and large size, I wasn't sold on the TH one because it was black. Good idea to put it on top of your cutting mat!

I love my glass mat. I’ve used it for smooshing Distress Inks and Oxides to make backgrounds for cards and papers for collages. I find I don’t have to reach for a ruler so often because there is one in front of me now.

I rarely think to use the ruler but always use the gridlines. I must try my distress inks too!

Magnetic feature is so cool!! How exactly did you deal with the reflection? Did you change the lights or just put them on another angle? It looks great btw 👍😊
@lostinpaper

I simply changed the angle of my lights but will be playing with then a bit more in the future
