I was just in the market for one of these cordless desktop computers! I've been saving up for a few months now and I can't wait to finally start my studies to graphic design. I have no where near enough to buy this but I gotta start somewhere. 😁 Thanks for the detailes review! I never even knew there was an option for a touchscreen option with stylus for these type of desktops.
When you are doing the review, please test being able to lean on the screen in more upright positions (like you can with Cintiqs) rather than just the lowest position when it is braced on the CPU box.
You can draw with the screen higher up but there's no locking position so there's a chance you may push it down. Anyway, there's a very easy workaround.
The thing I love about my wacom tablets is that my hand can rest on the surface and it only detects the pen movement. I think I would have a hard time not hitting this screen with my hand and making accidental changes to the drawing. Is there a way to make the screen only responsive to pen and mouse (to prevent hand swipe errors)? I look forward to your full review, this is a really awesome product.
Does it feel luxurious having that much screen real estate to play with? 💎 💰 When the very first Surface products were advertised I never thought they'd make anything that big. If it wasn't a computer it could be a desk itself lol! Thanks for the unboxing Teoh. 👍 😄
please Every time test a new painting product, please paint slowly. We need to see the specific position of the pen tip. Many times the inaccurate position of the pen tip will cause me a lot of pain in painting. Please show the material and working method of the pen tip. Please compare the tip of each painting product.
For Microsoft Surface products, the cursor is usually always directly beneath the pen tip. And there's minimal gap between the screen and glass surface so parallax is not a problem.
Thank you. I don't know why. It's very demanding on the tip. If the position of the tip is not right, it will feel uncomfortable. Please take a careful photograph of the specific position and gap of the pen tip during each test. Thank you.@@teohyc
Its definitely a nice looking device...i don’t know how i feel about the glossy screen. The screen size is so nice. I just feel like there is a lot of delay on the drawing.
Teoh Yi Chie yes very nice unboxing video btw. Waiting for the full review . I wanna know how responsive it is to draw on. If it as good as the cintiq or ipad pro than idk maybe i would consider buying one of these
It’s very ergonomic and smart but I’m on the fence when it comes to tech, (updates eat up everything) but it’s funny how they took Mac look and feel. Heh look at me I’m critiquing a computer. Oh can you try to open 2 windows while using the drawing application? Like RU-vid I love to listen to videos while I draw.
Drooling. The specs look great, but worried about cooling in such a small form factor. [FYI: a MS Studio got a direct competitor at CES2019. *Might* have been a Dell.]
Eagerly awaiting your full review! I'm interested in adding a few of these to our all Mac design studio, Seems like it would help greatly with some of our workflows.
My students are all using regular Microsoft Surfaces. I found this interesting as an advanced Surface. It looks to be beyond my current range for a computer. I am curious how you feel the stylus compares to a Wacom stylus. I use a Wacom Intuos tablet, and I suspect a lot of your audience does too.
Wacom pen performance is going to be better. There's still the slight jitter when drawing diagonal lines but that really depends on the graphic software used.
A Surface Studio 2 should last until it physically breaks down. Generally speaking, I prefer the display to be separate from the computer. If anything goes wrong, you can repair the individual item. For the Wacom, you can change your computer in the future and still use the Wacom.
is it just me or can you see clear lag between pen pressure and the stroke appearing on canvas? and that clicking noise every time he puts a stroke down...... eh, I don't know
The Wacom pen performance is going to be better. 28 inch to me is already quite a massive area to draw on. Not sure what I think about 32 inches. The Wacom is just a monitor while the Surface Studio is a computer. Personally I prefer monitor and computer to be separate unless it is a laptop.
most people i've talked to prefer the experience of drawing on the ipad. that said, i have a microsoft surface pro 2017 i7. i don't use it for drawing, but i do use it for video editing, gaming, and more
@@teohyc Yes of course , but as a beginner in digital drawing , i just hop to know is it diserve to pay $1,299.00 for an ipad , and get a close resault from the microsoft surface studio 2 . i just talk about the drawing with the pan experience . i will wait for the review , thank's
saad gamrani Apple pencil is a bit more accurate (produces less jitter... actually there is no jitter at all really) and it works similar in all apps. With the Microsoft Studio on the other hand every app works differently with the Surface Pen.
wow really cool-have got to get me one of these-but I would perfer an ios system. What about palm rejection Teoh? Also being old school do these all-in-ones today come with a dvd player too.
Great first impressions video. I appreciate you showing a snippet of photoshop, as well as a program here it doesn't seem to be performing optimally. I personally think it is a great product but 2-3 times overpriced.
Why they keep making 'glossy super reflective screen' to devices that meant for artists? ... i guess Microsoft thinks that a matte screen protector is more expensive than GTX 1060. the logic is: Artists need super GPU and Gamers need full touchscreen with pressure sensitive pen display. GJ Microsoft !!
@@teohyc When you draw a line slow, it has a slightly jaded look to it, covered in other reviews. Otherwise, general performance was mediocre, like a $700 AIO desktop, and like the SS 1, it had significant backlight bleeding on the panel. Insanely overpriced, but nice looking. The aspect ratio of the screen is not good for videos or office functions because the screen is too long from top to bottom. This is only good for artists who can live with the stuttering line problem
Love the unit but they still can't seem to light up the Keyboard for the ludacris amount of money they charge. Is asking for backlit keyboard too much? I personally am looking forward to Lenovo's AIO to give Surface a run for its money. Just sell us the monitor already. Great unboxing dude.
