It's a genius move really. These are going to sell like crazy - it gets people talking about the F1s again and I suspect a standard production will come out some time in the near future (cheaper and not limited). I can't imagine TAG Heuer going through all that effort to use the original moulds for the cases and invent a new 'arnite' material for just these limited editions.

I had a black with yellow bezel version back in the early 90s. Traded it for an early 70s Omega TV screen dial in green, with the 1020 movement. That was a great swap.

For £1,350 I’m surprised the Keith Hoyer quartz plastic-bezel toy doesn’t come with a magnifying glass so you can actually see the seconds hand missing the markers 🤔.

Three things! - MWC have you seen the Keith G shocks from a few years ago? They are good and shows he has been in the watch game a few years! - I went the route of getting an original for £299 and don’t think it’s too small for me - it’s in the metal bracelet maybe that helps make it feel more adult? - On the wife check. My fiancée has never had such a visceral reaction to a watch as my one - she hates it!

I respect and appreciate your honesty. Including the good bits, rather than just mindlessly piling onto it. This release is a lot of "could have been". Perhaps Tag will evaluate the situation and release a real version, with "Tag Heuer" branding, and priced appropriately (500 ideally, certainly no more than 999 for it, come on now). The Moonswatch was alright, by comparison. I went into a Swatch store, said to my wife "that's great but not for me" and went on with my watch collecting life. Tag was taking the Pith with this release.

‘Doesn’t feel cheap’ - until you look at the seconds hand missing every mark. Thx for that - reaffirmed my desire to avoid this like the Plague. PS - after last yr’s Glassbox chronos which may have been the best watch of 2023, huge step backwards. Unfortunate.

Was my crash watch in the eighties and I had to have the new one too! And I love it! Is expensive, yes. Don’t like the Kith branding, yes…but nostalgia weighs more than than that 😊

I’m a TH fanboy, but this is just ridiculous… fyi, TAG uses Swiss Ronda quartz movements, and are generally the “higher grade” ones, though I can’t confirm this one. I agree with everything you said haha. Have a good weekend Russ!

I just don't understand Tag Hauer. They come out with the 39 mm glassbox chrono watches, and I feel like they're really going somewhere. I get excited for a return of prominence for the brand. Then they come out with this silliness, and I just don't know what to think. Where are you going Tag Hauer? And what the heck is Kith?

Honestly, I can't hate it. I love funky retro quartz! Especially from Swiss brands. I agree with you though, at a fraction of the price and with the TAG Heuer logo, it may have been a good buy.

As far as im aware the second hand is not supposed to line up with the index markers on the watch face, its supposed to line up with the markers on the bezel, something to do with the bezel needing to be more accurate in a diving situation as its the bezel thats the life saver, hence why they are normaly uni directional also.

to me tag going moon swatch and like them proving they're trying to milk a money making cow , but it will end up turning sour ..next it will be bio ceramic monacos ..you watch 😅

I bought a late 90s TAG Heuer Professional 200m WK1110 Quartz in excellent condition last year for less than a third of the Kith’s price. They should have brought out a sub £1000 quartz diver like that

My 13 year old son wears a 43 mm automatic diver watch and gave up his 35 mm solar diver 2 years ago.

£1350??? 😮 WTF. Buy a Casio MRW-200 and save yourselves £1325. Looks very similar and will probably be better quality. Tag obviously saw what Swatch Group did with the Moonswatch and fancied a slice of the cash cow. Thanks for another great video mate. Love the channel.

I had an original WA1214 stainless steel with jubilee bracelet. Got it in 1995. My first analog watch in about 13 years at the time. I was and still am a big F1 fan. That watch was stolen from my bag while playing soccer in 2003. I loved it and was sad. So I see the nostalgia appeal for this reissue. But the official timer of F1 and the Tag Heuer name and logo that was shown on F1 races was a big reason I got this watch. So Kith Heuer is a hard No for me. The price tag (pun intended) is also a hard no. But I miss the cute little F1 watch that was my most expensive watch purchase ever at that time. So I went and got one, in good condition online for around £350 ($450). Nostalgia costs, but not 1500. 😊

I’m not going to lie I actually like the old tags, you can pick these up for a couple hundred, and I can’t really get behind the it’s a kids watch idea, from someone who collects Casios, ofc I love Casio, but common?, moonswatch? blancpain x swatch?

My Seamaster was £500 in ‘93, which is the equivalent of £1350 today. Watch inflation is a completely different beast. Also the current F1 quartz is £1500 on a bracelet, so expecting ‘luxury watch brand TAG Heuer’ to offer these or any future TAG-only release for under £1000 is very optimistic. The bracelet versions of this are the only ones worth considering, should you have the £1350.

You got it right: most watch brands don’t give a sh*t about us. I’m trying to understand this one but there is no brand strategy that justifies “butchering” the brand name and “selling out” an icon for a ridiculous partnership with a ridiculous luxury brand unless this is a money grab. This was the first watch I got, 32 years ago at 15 (still have it, obviously) with all the savings I had (and the start of this looney hobby). I’m fortunate to have amazing watches, affordable and expensive, but Tag Heuer has been in the collection through the years, down to the recent Carrera Glassbox. I know they don’t give a sh*t about us but as a hardcore fan I’m insulted by this release and I regret defending them against critics all these years.
