i grew up in a town that had train tracks criss crossing through it, so the sound of trains at night is like ASMR to me. It's just a weirdly nice sort of nostalgic thing.
hey kat! I've only just started the video but I wanted to comment something that I've been thinking for a while. it may sound a little odd, but im always super appreciative when you are open about the fact that some of the tarantulas/spiders and other inverts you've interacted with scare you, sketch you out, make you uneasy to rehouse etc etc. I feel that way about some of them too, and its nice to a. not feel alone and b. not be completely surrounded by others in the hobby who are so, honestly what is probably, toxically masculine and 'tough guy' about these critters. does this make sense? I really hope it does because its genuinely something I think about a lot and really admire about you! I think its also just me massively appreciating having such amazing female keepers and content creators in such a male dominated space, its deffo helped me feel more able to explore the hobby myself! much love
I am also a recovering arachnophobe. I currently have a Carolina Wolf Spider. His name is Mozart, and a Noble False Widow. I haven't figured out a name for her yet. But I want a Huntsman so bad. They're so beautiful.
The sand spider is so cute! Also love the wolf spider, I have one that i caught a few months ago that was about the same size. There were like five or six of them running around near my porch and I snagged one to be my baby. She's about half an inch long right now and I love her.
I was sitting in my car the other day *with the winndow down m, ya know decompressing from the work day with preschool kids) and a brown recluse decided to land on my arm. I still very much have arachnophobia 😂. I whipped her off my arm and I felt like absolute dog poop. So I saw that she had a safety line and she just floated to the ground. I grabbed a chunk of weeds and moved her to my deadly nightshade that the birds gifted me. She's now living her best life I think. We have a huge gnat and mosquito population and I have a small pond right there. So she's doing OK. Poor girl took a flight, but Im glad she's alright. I love spiders, just not touching me.
Kat! I just wanted to say how much I love and appreciate your videos! I was an arachnophobe until I came across your vids. Now I have 2 little jumpers in my kat pack enclosures... And I have a tarantula on the way 😱 I'm considering getting 2 huntsman as well (they were my most feared spider 😂) I have the newer Kat X Tarantula Cribs enclosures on the way too! Please keep collabing with them 🥹🙏🏼 You make the cutest little cribs!
I've pre ordered mine🕷️. I was an arachnid person and before I would absolutely want to burn my house down if I would find a spider. BUT, that was before I stumbled across ur channel and at first I freaked out and kept jumping and quivering as if it could come through the TV.📺😂 But u have turned it all around. I haven't been able to get one yet but I really really want a jumping spider but I'm still a work in progress. besides I'm going to get my nibbles when they go out and I can't wait. I think I was one of the first to get one lol. Thank u so much for the videos.
I want a sand spider so bad but can never find one when I have the extra money lol I also love the huntsman and have a davidbowie I have to rehouse tomorrow. I'm terrified of that speed!
Of course they did Bec Tom is the g.o.a.t almost all my ts are from him and my tiniest was .y pumpkin patch it came in at like ⅛ of an inch lol she's a big ol girl now lol well for a pumpkin keep up the great work love the new place
I myself am an arachnaphobe but also went ahhead and started to fight it with the thing i fear i got 6 tarantulas i have a black velvet a salmon pink bird eater a mexican red knee a Brazilian white knee witch is my most aggressive tartantula a mexican red rump and my biggest and oldest tarantula is a curly hair female she is 7 years old i rescued her someone brought her to the pet store not wantring her so i got a deal with her home inculded i love them all i just dont hold them or touch them to scary i use a catch cup if needed lol
I can’t stand those styrofoam peanuts they use to pack a lot of things in. They get caught up in the wind a blow all over the gardens or inside the cats love to play with them and I’m not sure if there toxic or not.
"My favorite tactic is to be as annoying as possible until I get what I want." Well, I mean, we already knew Kat was a woman, further clarification wasn't needed 🤣
