Glad it arrived a bit early for you, I know you were eagerly awaiting this one! Hopefully the ones in the states will start shipping soon, I may be a little jealous! LOL! I'll let you and Fil build yours and learn from you guys if there are any trouble spots to look out for! Overall it looks like it will be pretty straight forward. Have fun with the build and I will be looking forward to seeing it come together!
Honestly...I don't know how it got into my hands this fast. I only ordered it on Tuesday because where I did order it from 2 months ago couldn't get it due to the HH fiasco (you know what I' talking about )! So I wasn't expecting it to show up until next week so when it arrived I dropped everything to try and get a video out there asap! I'm definitely looking forward to the build so I will be starting this pretty quick. I'm still in the middle of building the Bronco 2021 but I think I'll move to this one just to get it started. I've been excited for this one to arrive for quite some time! As to shipping there doesn't seem to be any set rules as to what will ship first etc...normally for us folks in Canada we are the last to receive anything. They always usually ship to the USA first and the UK usually wins overall. But if you haven't got yours yet then this time around Canada won lol - I don't know...there's no rhyme or reason for anything.
That's GREAT You've got it unboxed and WOW that's a Bunch of Gears and Bearings to make it happen Freddy 🎉 RCF4L I'm Stoked to watch this one come together being a newer version of Tamiya RC's 💯 Kinda curious of the 4WS application though? ✌🤠👍 Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 👍😎👍 AOAH =Association of Addicted Hobbiest 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy Brother and Have a FUNTASTIC Time Building 🎉🏁🏆🏁🎉
There are A LOT of gears lol - I'm really looking forward to putting this one together. As to the 4WS...it's looking like I WILL be doing it that way. I've had a few people say I should build it that way and as this is so unique I think I've changed my mind and I will go with the 4WS. I'll have a better idea as to what I want to do as I get closer to that step.
Great unboxing Freddy..... In fact that's two today as Fil also put his out! Awesome looking kit for sure, I never previously realised it had the option of 4 wheel steer. Great to see the return of the trusty blackfoot tires, and delighted to see you do the customary toot..... no unboxing is complete without it!! The body looks very cool, and the chassis should be fun to construct..... although shame on Tamiya for all those awful plastic bushes. I've forwarded your emails to Taylor over the weekend, so hopefully he will be working on getting you the jpeg as we speak.... we have also got the second lot of stickers ready to send out tomorrow for all of those that didn't receive the first lot (which was quite a few?) Looking forward to seeing this one progress fella! 👍 👍 👍
Ah ha Freddy! It’s finally arrived! It’s going to be a stunning community project. Oh boy! How many bearings! 😂😊😂probably cost half the kit value to purchase the bearings 😂 my channel stickers are on route, hopefully they arrive in time, from the UK😊 enjoy the wonderful Squash Van community project. 😊😊best wishes my friend 😊
Agreed!! They are the worst part about cutting the body out yourself and if you don’t do it right it’s very noticeable. Can be very frustrating. The fact that these wheel arches are so big I was ecstatic to find they were already pre-cut!
The chassis/gearbox is exactly the same as the G6-01 but without the centre differential and wheels 👍 Even so, you will have a great time building this up especially using that awesome 1950's style bodyshell. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it 🤘
That's a great way to describe the chassis that's for sure! I'll be very curious to see how this works in the long run. I like the idea but man that's a lot of gears. But then again, I haven't heard anything about the Kong Head or King Yellow that would make me worried about this new GF-02 design. So I'm definitely looking forward to building this one!
Thanks Fil! There will be custom decals on it too so now that I have the body the measuring begins! FYI…your stickers arrived yesterday so thanks for that!
Oh I’d agree with you Jason!! Haven’t ever built a tank before but I’m sure they are even crazier!! Plus the double motors and the tracks! One day I’d like to build one though.
Great truck Freddy. I like that they skid plated the chassis and you've the option of 4WS (although you won't go this way😉). Great tip with the ball bearings, they seem to be a lot. Really curious about your planned design. And if the grease'll last for the whole build.
I think it will be! Can’t wait to show you what I have planned for this. The colour scheme should look great on this one. I’m pretty skeptical of that grease though lol - don’t think it will be enough!
lol well it was perfect for my RU-vid channel project and it’s the first new monster truck from Tamiya in quite sometime so I’m quite excited about this one!
Too bad no smellavision! Yes there was nothing like the smell of opening a Tamiya kit it just created so many good internal feelings. This is one of the things I really miss about the RC vehicles from today's RTR crap I always enjoyed the build more than the use after construction
lol now that would be great wouldn't it!!! For this one it was DEFINITELY needed!! Funny you should say that...I'm a builder. Before R/C cars I was building 1/24 scale models as a kid. Then I got to a point where I was tired of building kits that didn't have moveable parts. When my parents finally agreed to let me get a Blackfoot I was so excited. Now it meant I could build a 'real' model one that actually drove when I finished it! - Anyway, I definitely love running what I've put together but I really enjoy building the kits so I don't rush through them. For me the build is my favourite part of the whole experience.
Hello again great video and the new truck looks awesome question do we have to build it like the box art i do have an idea for this one it’ll be multiple colours still but not box art
Thank you and yes the truck does look awesome!! But as to the paint job…no you don’t have to paint it box art. You can paint it however you like! I think this van will lend itself to all sorts of different creations.
Hmmmmm....I'll have to think that about lol...not really a fan of the 4WS especially if you want to run it fast. I think it will end up flipping more than anything with that in place. But when I get to that step in the build process I'll take a closer look.
