In this video we will do an unboxing of the NEW Tamiya Super Sabre. It's new in that it was re-released in 2023 for the first time since it's original release in 1987. It's taken 36 years for Tamiya to re-release this kit and it's an awesome model for either a newbie wanting to get their start in the world of R/C or if you're a collector of the first 100.
This car is based on the Boomerang Chassis which was a first evolution of the original Hotshot Chassis. In fact, the HotShot was the first 4WD car that Tamiya ever produced. As such the Super Sabre, and it's brother the Boomerang, and very sought after models for those that grew up in the 80's. The Boomerang had been re-released in 2007 and in 2017. As the Super Sabre is literally on the very same chassis as the Boomerang, it seemed only a matter of time before Tamiya would re-release the Super Sabre. As luck would have it, 2023 would be that year and it is so cool to have this model available again.
