I adore the art for this set. It's so tragic but also has wonder to it. This whole project has the sort of wondrous melancholy of Brian Froud and Jim Henson.
The amount of artistic uniqueness and personality there is in this whole Quar set of games is so beautiful. The coloured drawings used as thumbnails for the products online, the 3D renders sprinkled around, the fact that the boxes can be cut into extra terrain almost like cereal box gimmicks from back in the day, the names that might be Welsh or simple gibberish (not sure which on it is), and the fact that the models look like they wouldn't be out of place in Večerníček cartoons I used to watch as a kid. As someone who styles themselves as a creative I see so much of myself in the creators and how passionate they are about what they've created.
So great to see them coming out in plastic - have you considered partnering with Wargames Atlantic with regards to releasing components on their digital platform as STLs to expand and convert basic troops?
I am going to be starting a Quar patreon/tribe next month with bits anbd models and all kinds of things. WA will carry them in their digital store as well!
I got my friends at uni into quar. Can't wait to play together! If possible could you release more base bodies we prefer to 3d print stuff ourselves and so far it seems like you need to buy the base figures for the 3d printed parts to be of any use. I 3d print my war hammer stuff and would be totally willing to pay for my 3d printing files as I do with my war hammer customs I just wish I had the option.
I love the style of these miniatures and although it isn’t my usual fair I have bought into the WA presell. My question is can you get the vehicles anywhere? I can’t see any on the web store
I just found this game and have gone all in. I love the style that you have created for the setting and for the first time in decades of playing typical wargames I am genuinely excited to see what you release next. I'm especially looking forward to the vehicle STLS.
I have the starter set the scenery is fantastic, There was a British animator called OIiver Postgate using the scenery gives a real feel of one of his stop motion animations. Utterly brilliant
