Ive got an N2 model and have it mounted how u did in a T680 works out great for me youve been my inspiration got a 6ft skip shooter antenna tuned down to 1.1 ohm on the swr meter and i installed the antenna bracket made by procomm heard it helps tremendously with grounding issues found in the stock antenna location on the mirror i get great service and out pretty far its (ranger N2) kicked up a bit to 330 watt however so i get roughly 35 miles outta her i love it thanks man for all your help

Bought mine a few weeks ago at Walcott Radio, peaked, tuned and souped up. My power cord is 14 gauge welding leads with a 100 Amp Fuse. They recommend hooking up directly to the battery.

Wish I could afford one of these.

Hey J Rich. Just subcribed to your channel. I like you say and you do like you say dumb down for people. I like the looks of this ranger 99N4 and see that the frequency can be mod for cb, but cannot find anyone that shows how to do that mod. I don't have the radio yet will have to save up for being a disabled veteran and on fix income. but if you or anyone knows how to do the mod for when I get would be appreciated. i want to get back into the radio world since it has been since the 80's and loved being able to talk to people around the country and sometimes in other countries thank you for your time. I bought this radio from Iowa Radio Shop about a month ago, and now I'm kinda afraid to put it in my company truck. In case you didn't know Iowa Radio no longer installs the products they sell. So I've called numerous shops and all said since they didn't sell me their equipment they wouldn't touch it. I got a new one yesterday from a shop in Altoona Iowa. The lady told me that my radio is so hot power wise it could possibly set my Cascadia on fire literally. I called Iowa Radio and they acknowledged that was a possibility. I asked what I should do and they suggested I run the radio at half power. Imagine that, I bought a 400W radio at full price and they now say to run it at half power. That made me mad. I asked about getting my money back and the guy said they might buy it back but not at what I paid for it. He'd give me what a unpeaked and untuned basic radio would cost. Iowa Radio would then put the radio back on the shelf and sell it again at the full price. Disappointed doesn't scratch the surface on how I feel. Do you know and trust any shop that can install my radio and I not have to worry about burning up a truck that doesn't belong to me?

Well I ended up going with a Wilson t2000 and a uniden 78 LTX had it tweaked and peaked and tuned. Running a road King 56 no noise toys love it I think I normal talk 17 watts got the antenna mounted on driver side mirror on the tube mirror mount only issue I have is a lot of noise matches the engine RPM plugged in an accessory plug for power thinking about direct to the battery hoping that will stop the excess noise what are your thoughts the radio status matches the sound of the engine but it overpowers people I'm talking to I sound good and just overpowers their signal sometimes

I'm wanting to run a uniden 980 ssb with a rk 56 mic and a 3-4-ft fire stick just one antenna on a 28 ft straight truck mounted on the passenger side mirror would that be a decent setup just to play around with on the interstate at night also should I tilt the antenna forward a little bit or straight up
