Get an extra printhead for that ASAP lol Speaking from experience. Edit: in saying this because if it does have that issue later, the price for those keeps going up because of the dye sub crowd, they love the T-3K series. I just sold one that was a solid performer until it threw a code and still got asking price easy

Surprised you aren't using the Roland to print your films... I used my Mutoh and now my Epson S series to print films 😋
@leestuart38
@leestuart38 2 года назад
The Roland or any wide format would do a terrible job printing films. The heater would warp the films and the ink isn't UV blocking like the stock inks in this printer. Not to mention the added setup time to change print media, and taking that printer offline for a film when it could be making money printing graphics
@Novoworks
@Novoworks 2 года назад
@@leestuart38 - No warping of films at all.... you can buy clear roll film specifically for solvent printers and it works fantastic. Been using for years. You can also adjust the heater settings as well as your entire ink laying profile in the print profiles. I get a WAY blacker print using this method then I ever got on our 1430 with all blacks. Heck using Ulano orange, these films, and a fluorescent exposure unit, I expose most screens in under 20 seconds
@leestuart38
@leestuart38 2 года назад
Again though, even if you could get a perfect film out of it, still not worth taking the printer offline to do it. In the time it would take the wide format to print my films for just one morning, it could have made enough money to buy this Epson.

Hey Lee. Good morning from Boquete, Panama. I am enjoying your energy. A possible 4th solution to your Fusion Heat Press. Your table is 24 inches wide and your press is 16 inches wide. Try to turn your press 90 degrees and working off of the end of the table may work. I know that it is not the way you were thinking of setting up the press but this way will be the least invasive. BTW- I am opening a t-shirt place here after the first of the year! Keep on trucking!

@@leestuart38 Would be interested in following up on the printer once your are printing positives and seeing how it is working for you. I have had to deal with the same film registrtion issues as James W. for years. Tried different printers a couple years ago brand new and both had same issue. Just happens when printing from the roll film. Printing on sheets everything lines up perfect and printer is great but on a roll the longer the print gets or the more dead space in the print the more off multiple positives will be off to each other. Tried all the different film brands, different size cores, multiple rip programs and nothing would work and stay consistent. So sucks but just have stuck to using sheets for multi color jobs and only use the roll film for single screen jobs. Maybe they have figured it out by now on new versions but never really got any support on it from Epson. But rember a good handfull of people I reached out to all had identical issues at the time. Best they could tell me was it would have a hard time determining where it was during printing because of the clear film so as it would print longer films it would pull off the roll and feed the printer at different rates from image to image so almost imposible for it to register. With sheets the feed rate is fixed so it doesn't have that feeding issue. So multiple years later and still babysitting a printer and loading sheets induvidualy. Great printer besides that though I actually really like it. Just a bummer when we got it becasue the main feature you are looking forward to when coming from a sheet printer to a roll printer is that you can set all your jobs up to print then let them go and you can walk away.

@@jamesdankworth5639 I have a T3200 for about 2 years now and the exact same problem happens to me. I had the Epson 4880 for almost 10 years and never had any problems using AccuRip. With this printer every time i'm trying to print big simulated jobs my registrations marks never line up. I thought it could be something with this particular printer model and i'm looking for new options like the SC-P5000 or SC-P7000 but after reading your comment seems like a waste of time and money changing for a new one...I even changed to another Rip software, i'm now using Filmaker from Cadlink which is very good and i can setup for more resolution making the printing speed slower but still doesn't works. I tried the same thing, printing on paper and the registrations marks line up. I have to try with the sheets.

Many think one needs to spend decades in the business to learn and grow. This dude was riding bikes for a living just three years ago and look how he mastered screen printing and built a million dollar shop in just a couple. So don't try to look for excuses, instead put in the fucking work.
