Unboxing | Vlogmas Day 7! 

Hey! I’m a new-ish mama and I also have a dog. Honestly for the first few weeks our dog was sooo thrown off by the baby but one thing we did that seemed to help was giving our dog a blanket or towel (maybe in her dog bed or somewhere she sits often) that had the babies scent on it. That way Chlo-money can get used to babies scent and won’t be so completely confused by him. You could also try holding a dog treat in your hand while also having babies hand close, and giving it to Chloe so that it seams like he’s giving her a treat which I’m sure will make her happy! Feeding Chloe by the baby is a great idea also! It really just takes time for puppers to adapt to a new tiny little creature in her home, but she will ☺️❤️

Hi ash try keeping them bonding by putting the baby in a swing or something near Chloe and let Chloe smell the baby’s bib or something with the Baby’s scent on it

You might want to wrap the baby in a blanket or towel that you can then give to Chloe so she can have his scent. Let her sniff his shirt or socks after he wears them. Then slowly introduce them

My dog did that too! We had to watch our friends baby for a couple of days while the parents were out of town and whenever we played with the baby, my dog started barking because he was jealous so I think if you give chloe attention and not too much attention to the baby, that will help because chloe is probably jealous of the baby since the baby might be getting more attention than chloe! Love you Ashley!!

ADVICE... Bring both the baby and Chloe to a place they’ve both never been before, like the park. This will make sure that Chloe (even though she’s a girl) won’t be territorial. It really works because they’re helping each other explore a new place together!! Also, if your allowed to give one of the baby’s things to Chloe like a blanket or toy she will grow used to the smell overtime and recognize the baby when he’s around... don’t worry Ashley, everything will turn out lovely❤️❤️

A trick for the introducing the dog and the baby is to give one of the babies blankets to Chloe. She will be use to the scent and it won’t throw her off when she smells it again ☺️

Ash make sure you have them in the same room. Have Chloe smell the baby stuff and get used to the sent. And if they are in the same room make sure Chloe is really calm!

When I was a baby they introduced me to the dogs and they kinda were trying to protect me

Young children and animals Bond really well together usually so if you give them like 10 minutes every day and work your way up to 20 and even 30 minutes then it can help in there will be good to each other

Associate the baby with something Chloe likes. Give Chloe her favorite toy and then give her a piece of the baby’s clothes so she associates the smell with something she likes.

I would recommend to give a baby a blanket to just snuggle in it for couple hours or maybe a day or two and then give the blanket to your dog to sniff it and get used to the smell of a baby. We have a 4 months old baby and before we took him home we gave his blanket to our dog and she did wonderful with our baby and they get along very well. Good luck!
