The UNC-Chapel Hill Adult Cochlear Implant Program, in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, completed their 2021st cochlear implantation procedure in 2021. The patient is also a participant in clinical research aimed at expanding access to cochlear implantation for children and adults with poor hearing in one ear and normal hearing in the other ear.
