The UNC Clef Hangers, joined by UNC-CH Chancellor Holden Thorp, sing James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind" at Spring Commencement ceremonies in Chapel Hill on Sunday, May 10, 2009.
So I grew up in Maryland lived there my whole life but all my family lives in North Carolina, all my cousins go to UNC and Carolina is my second home, both my parents where born there I love how it just represents family and love to me, and this song means the same
It's on the abc website - world news - person of the week - commencement speeches That's where I first heard them. Not my style of music, but after hearing them I had to listen to them again...and again. Damn, you guys can sing.
I used to have the link, can't find it. It was a montage of a bunch of commencement ceremonies from colleges across the US and had a brief section of video of this song with crowd shots too. It was ABC evening news, from way back in May... Maybe it's elsewhere on YT?
That is Ryan White, 3rd year Clef and this year's President (and, BTW, a really nice guy...). Check Ryan out for a BUNCH of his solos - search "Ryan White clefhangerfan" in the RU-vid search window for all of his solos in my vids.
Downeaster here.....stuck in Dallas 😔 and this is my home song 😥 I'm Tarheel born, Tarheel breed and I will be a Tarheel till I'm dead! There is no place like Carolina!
watching this makes me real sad. I'm definitely gonna miss seeing them perform with the clefs. ): and congrats to steve, will, charles, and cameron! (:
