Ocho is right, rice is 100% responsible but his friends should know better than to put him and his career at risk for something as dumb as this. If my boy made it & he’s out here taking all of us up with him, you bet I’ll make sure he’s straight. I’ll have his back, I’m making sure he don’t mess his opportunity up. That’s what a real friend supposed to do
Got to surround yourself around people who want to see you win in life. Once the fame and money disappears, so will these so-called friends and family.
@@Dzantro that’s all well and good dude but YOU are the one making the millions YOU need to think for yourself! No one has your best interests at heart like you do! He made the choice to break the law! Racing on public street is illegal you learn that long before you can buy expensive cars. Stop making excuses for his poor behavior.
@@Dzantro "Peer pressure is a real thing though and you can be a victim of it. " That is literally shifting the blame. He is a grown man who is 100% responsible for his actions. Peer pressure or not he is responsible and putting forth peer pressure is an excuse.
@@Dzantro Peer pressure is the influence of a social group on an individual. So, I understand what peer pressure means. It is an adult responsibility to resist peer pressure. By saying he did it because of peer pressure and wouldn't have if he had better friends is saying that he was convinced by other people to do something. Which is shifting some of the blame off Rice. But here you are doing some mental gymnastics trying to say it is not shifting the blame.
Bro! Stop it! He is young. Stop acting like he is 30s or 40s. If he killed somebody then it would be a different story. Just because yall hate the chiefs yall opinions won't matter. He will get punished because he is in the NFL. But yall coo with watson just missing 11 games off accused of raping 22 women huh?
I mean he did make a terrible decision in regard to speeding and leaving the scene. He didn’t mistakenly speed nor leave the scene. Those were conscious decisions that were BAD
@@mefirst2576 Why, on stories like this, is there always at least one genius who tries to change the subject at hand to something different? There are literally countless RU-vid sites where you can find articles about ""the crook who wants to be president." This story is about Rashee Rice. Why not go to one of the other sites if the other guy is the topic you'd prefer to discuss?
Street racing is so fucking stupid. There are tracks all over the country that you can get on for less than $100. You can go as fast as you want, without putting everyone else's lives at risk
As a racer , there really aren’t that many places . There should be tho , also what they where doing isn’t how we typically race , we always race at night on empty toll roads , we’ll have people behind us pacing traffic at the legal limit and spotters in front so you don’t have to worry about oncoming traffic . Then you race from one set speed to another set speed and you stop. You would both be in your own individual lanes as well, what these guys where doing was just beyond reckless , they both raced in the passing lane during peak traffic hours and they where most likely intoxicated , hence why they fled the scene . Anyways enough with my rant just had to clarify there’s a right and a wrong way for everything .
@@mefirst2576 Mr. Rice didn't say jack. His attorney read a statement that he himself authored. It's called public relations, and even the mouthpiece attorney didn't release the statement until AFTER enough video and eyewitness testitimony had surfaced that it would have been foolish to deny he was driving. He also suggest the media's calls for accountability were racist.
He's unlucky it wasn't in Missouri though otherwise his coach could have convinced the governor who's a Chiefs fan to bail him out like he did his son Britt Reid, even after his son gave a little girl permanent brain damage 🙄. Lost all respect for the Chiefs after that.
@@sebastianesquivel6732what do you mean? Andy Reid is the Chiefs head coach and his son Britt Reid was a coach on the staff when the crash happened. Andy and the Chiefs win another Super Bowl and randomly weeks later the governors office gives out a statement that his son Britt was released and that it was the governor that had overturned his jail sentence. The governor thought he could do it randomly weeks later and no one would notice 🤔. Sounds like a coincidence to no one. Britt was a repeat offender and the governor never even mentioned the victim through the process of turning his sentence. He doesn't get released if someone on Andy's side isn't pulling the strings to convince the governor to get him out. If Rice would have had the crash in Missouri being associated with the Chiefs the governor could give him a solid too but unfortunately for him it was in Texas and no one cares about the Chiefs to pull the strings in Texas.
its just his personality. ocho struggles to ever say anything negative about anyone, even if the critic is warranted he will tip roe around saying it, nothing wrong with having a positive outlook in life
I mean I definitely agree the the boys should protect the golden boy, but golden boy or not he fucked up and at the end of the day he needs to act like it , boys or not .
This. This right here. The one with the brains stays getting left out cause they don’t want the fun to be “limited”. Self accountability is a thing that needs to be stressed.
@@Madman33-nv8htthey where street racing in daylight , peak traffic and possibly drinking , what makes you think they would make a intelligent decision?
@@jamesboozer135Yea it definitely wasn’t no fender bender. Honestly half a season isn’t enough. If I’m the NFL I’m suspending him for at least a year. It’s one thing to get into an accident and it’s another when you flee the scene when others are hurt in a crash you caused.
@@Madman33-nv8htFor any regular Joe out there, the moment they find you. They would lock you up first and any explanations would be given from behind bars.
Did Ocho just say someone has to be the brains for another adult? To stop him from street racing? AND RUNNING AWAY FROM THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT HE CAUSED?!?! What in the world is this
Not excusing it but He’s 23. We all did stupid shit in our early twenties we just didn’t have millions to do it with. Idk why we think getting money makes people immediately mature

You would think after the Henry Ruggs incident that every player would know not to do this. Even Lamar Jackson was speeding, showing off his watch on instagram with no seat belt like DUDE
LAMAR JACKSON DOES NOT HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD,,,NO CRIMINAL CHARGES,,,NO SPEEDING ARREST ON RECORD AT ALL!!!! DAMN YALL ARE BUTT HURT THAT LAMAR JACKSON IS A QUALITY GENUINE BLACK MAN!!!!!💯💯💯
Huh?!? Wisdom is learning from others' BAD DECISIONS. Ruggs, Little, etc... come on, man! This wasn't a mistake he willingly left the scene. Please stop with this foolishness
Love you 85 but you’re in the media now brother you can’t just take up for every wide receiver just cause they played your position. Keep it a 100 people gotta take responsibility for their own actions
“I’m not good when it comes to law of this nature.” Bro, you don’t have to be a lawyer to know that leaving the scene of an accident, especially after injuring someone is wrong. Just once Ocho, can you please not stick up for someone just because they played the same position as you.
Listen, I disagree with Ocho. These kids have seen enough examples on what not to do. Look at Ja Morant, Henry Ruggs, so many others who almost or did lose everything. They gotta make better choices, especially when you’re the bread winner in your circle. And jealous folk don’t care!!
Yup, TMZ released pictures and you can clearly see it was him. He got a lawyer the night the accident happened, I already knew that boy was involved. Also I read the corvette was leased to him and only rice was allowed to drive it. So idk what’s gonna happen with all the insurance and etc. this will cost rice a pretty penny
@@reapercomethtrue what's also not helping is after the fact he's talking about"helping those affected to get back to normal" Well making sure everyone was alive instead of running away would've made that statement believable its laughable
😂 OCHO ALWAYS WANTS TO SHIFT ACCOUNTABILITY AND/OR ACT LIKE HE'S NOT REALLY INFORMED THEN UNC HAS TO BREAK EVERYTHING FOR HIM...GIL BE ON POINT & MORE REALISTIC...SHOT OUT TO ALL 3
People have a good show, start doing sh.. like this, and the show goes away. Let's be honest, of this show was Unc and Gil it wouldnt be where I is right now. Ocho with all his flaws is a big reason why this show has blown up so quickly. Compare the views of the nights where he's on and where Gil is on.
Racing is wrong, but I get that a young person might do it. Driving under the influence is terrible, but I get why a young person might do it. But fleeing the scene of an accident while the cars you hit may have injured people inside. That I can’t understand, and that’s what I hope he gets punished for the most.
I’m with ya 100%, the first two you mentioned is all being young and immature. We’ve all been there but fleeing a scene where people could be in harm that is cold blooded. Hope they lay the hammer on his behind in court for that
The owner of the Chiefs traded their star running back, not for kicking a woman on camera, but for lying about it. Isn't leaving the scene worse than lying? A 2 game suspension would be a slap on the wrist. I'm a Chiefs fan.
Please tell me ocho is not this ignorant. Ocho has a platform to use but has no common sense when using it. The part that sucks is, leaving a comment raises the views on having to state the obvious, shannon always having to dumb it down using analogies that fall on ochos deaf ears.
Ocho needs to get his shit together fr. STOP BLAMING EVERYONE BUT RICE! These are GROWN MEN making these mistakes like they children. Cmon man, at a certain point it is their fault and no one else’s. Glad Rice spoke up and took responsibility, hopefully this never happens again
They left marijuana in the vehicles, a diamond necklace, a $16,500 check, and the Chiefs playbook. People on the scene also reported the occupants removing guns from the car
They fled the scene because of what was in that bag, they left the expensive cars behind but walked away with a big gym bag, ain't nobody been in an accident and said yeah i'mma flee but lemme just grab my gym bag first.
I don’t agree with Ocho on this. You’re the alpha, you have more to loose, I don’t care who’s telling you what. To whom much is given much is expected. People need to be accountable for themselves, not people around you.
He had guns in the car, if you saw the video and the reports, they took guns and other stuff out of the trunk. Nothing with owning guns, but I'd bet money them guns wasn't legal.
Im angry that when a guy decides to race two cars, ignoring the speed limit, risking the lives of every other man woman and child on the road. The conversation is about a suspension. Suspension? If you hit someone after driving like that you are attempting to kill people. He should be prison the whole season.
I’m from Dallas. When I saw the video him leaving the seen. I was so disgusted. There needs to be a organization where the old school athletes and talk to the young. One bad decision can ruin your whole career.
Ocho he is a grown man. Love you. But he has to be who takes the responsibility. It’s a terrible human move. Leave a scene? Awful. My guy from Georgia did the same and still got drafted. AND TWO PEOPE DIED.
While surrounding yourself with proper people helps you not make bad decisions at the end of the day regardless of who you run with. Your choices are YOUR CHOICES.
Shannon, you said it. He should look the judge in the eye and say the greatest apology I can give to those I have affected is my changed behavior. You need to tell rice that. I went before a judge after being charged with my 4th felony. 3 strikes your out laws. I looked the judge in the eye and spoke from my heart against my lawyers advice. I walked out of that court a free man. Every year after that I walk back in front of that judge to let him know he didn't make a mistake when he gave probation instead of giving me 5 yrs in prison. Its now been 10 years.
The Corvette was registered to him too. That's the 2 cars that fled and the other 2 are the 2 that went to the hospital. Do the math. The innocent ones were the only ones that got injured. Give his ass jailtime! That's several felonies.
These pro athletes getting in these situations just simply lack humility. They become arrogant w all the success, and lose sight of very real possibilities w negative consequences.
Ocho is 100 % correct. Some times you need that person in your circle to tell you man chill. That’s not the right decision bro. But at the same time you have to learn the hard way
2 games for this is absolutely nuts. Calvin Ridley out for a season. Hip drop tackles gone for “safety” but Mahomes WR puts innocent people’s life in danger and leaves like a coward. 2 game suspension…this league has become an absolute joke
Ocho, we have laws, rules, and regulations set up to avoid these kinds of things....You have to get a drivers permit, take driving classes, pass a drivers test...If were gonna correlate having a better inner circle around something as simplistic as FOLLOWING THE RULES OF THE ROAD i have serious concerns 😂😂😂
I can’t believe I agree with Ocho. He’s not giving Rashee a pass. He’s basically just saying when you’re young and an idiot, you need someone around who will check your ass. Aaron Hernendez is a perfect example. Had he still had his dad, and other level-headed people around him, he’d still be playing football.
What Ocho is saying is that "if you want to be a loser, hang out with losers" "If you want to be a hero, hang out with heroes" He is simply saying that Rice needs to step away from irresponsible people and stop feeding bad examples. He's not trying to Justfy what Rice has done in any way.
It's a collective stupidity. :) He has to ditch his old friends and find new ones. 100% his fault, but he has to find people that will not inspire it. I really don't know how to explain what I am saying, but I completely understand what Ocho is getting at.
@@hydrodiction6925 he is a grown ass man. Why are you talking about his friends? The fact that you are even bringing them up shows you are taking blame away
My family was the first on the scene at the Derrick Thomas accident. This situation brought me back to that day. Young and dumb is an excuse. Driving like an idiot is a choice.
Rice owns the corvette. Rented and was driving the lambo. He has total responsibility as the owner and allowing the driver of the corvette. And the lambo. Dang son!
Ocho Cinco used to be numero uno at immaturity! 😂 finally an adult! Lol! I'm proud to see you be a true role model! Should have done it under the big lights!
Why is it other people’s responsibility to tell a grown adult to be responsible. STOP TALKING ABOUT THESE PRO ATHLETES LIKE THEY’RE KIDS. No matter how you try to rationalize it, a 20-something year old man is grown. MEN need to expect more of themselves.
Ocho speaks from someone who has been there wild in the lanes unlike Shannon who had more structure from his family…ocho is street and is speaking from that perspective
