My neighbor behind me has bees. And I finally got some of his honey and it's so delicious so so so delicious. He spins his honey in his garage. I would like to see it done I haven't seen it yet.

It was probably a swarm. Did your neighbor come remove it? Also bees may tend to not like furry animals because it resembles a bear or skunk which are both natural predators to bees. Without bees the world would starve.@@oliviamalerich462

That uncapping with the hot knife is awesome, I use a knife and sometimes a claw scraper, I saw someone using a heat gun the other day, if you are careful the frame can go straight back into the super once emptied, this can be very good as the bees will only have a little bit of repair on the frames
Well bees are actually really calm when they take the honey, since they spray them with smoke, also since bees need to stay outside for them to collect honey and come back to the nest, they are technically the closest thing to an animal that consents to bee-ing harvested, since if the farmer took too much or treated them badly, they could just leave and build a next elsewhere

In defense of beekeepers, if my entire life was flying around outside for a bit, returning to my cave with 2000 of my friends, vomiting on the walls, and repeating that for about 4 months before I die, I've lived a pretty good fucking life.

The uncapped wax can be used to make all sorts of things, once the honey is extracted the bees usually get their comb back so they wont have to remake the comb on that frame which will save them a lot of time and energy
I used to do this for a few years with a friend of mine. This was the best part, really satisfying. The rest of the bee process is so filthy and laborious. Lmao
Something really cool about this is they take only the top off so the bees can reuse the same wax combs, giving them more time to make honey instead of wax
Before box shaped manufactured hives they made round hives out of woven materials with removable tops. Because this process required that entire comb be destroyed to extract the honey the amount of honey you could extra annually per pound of bees was much smaller. This may sound inefficient from a modern point of view but woven baskets hives were easier to produce. Well I should say that box hives were HARDER to produce because of lumber was harder to make, and metal fasteners much more expensive and rare.
