This is beautiful... His performance at the Andy Williams show in 1965 was mystical... Often voted the greatest live solo performance of all time and rightly so... It was as if an angel possessed him that night... A masterclass in voice tone, and it has never been replicated by anyone before, or since... RIP Bobby, thank you for sharing your gift with us ❤
There are no words to perfectly describe Bobby. When he sings, even as he got older, I get goose bumps, my stomach ties in knots and I cry his voice is so beautiful and there is so much passion even in the way he moves. My heart hurts that I never got to see him live😔
He had put on a bit of weight, and this is a differently managed version of this classic song we so associate with him, but it still sounds so very soulful after twenty plus years! Hope to hear you singing Bobby on the Other Side.
I saw Bobby perform shortly before his death and with a voice that pure and heavenly obviously you're not gonna sound like you did in your early 20s and I think it bothered Bobby. However I think he still sounded marvelous on stage and it was an honor to see him
BOBBY WAS MY FIRST "MAN CRUSH" @ THE AGE OF 21 (ME) AND THAT CRUSH LASTED ALL MY LIFE ........R.I.;P , THE MAN OF MY LIFE....BOB S., FOX, LAGUNA BEACH, CA.
What vocal control he had. The skill, his decrescendos especially. This is virtuosic. He is in a very elite category of vocalist. He set the bar so high. His register transitions are a vocal masterclass.
@@xtravyx1 this song was written for the 1955 movie “Unchained” and the first singer was Todd Duncan. Both Roy Hamilton and Al Hibbler had hits with it before Bobby covered it.😊
There are two more videos on here from this concert. Check out "Old Time Rock and Roll" and see his dance moves. Then you tell me again, MultiCrooky, if he was out of it!!! The other video is "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling." And thank you vintagestuff for these videos. I miss him so much!
What a come down for the world famous Righteous Brothers, people wandering about, camera filming kids playing instead of the stage - uncaring that they're in the presence of greatness ... makes me feel a bit sad for them.
I think this is someone's personal video, certainly not a professional taping. This looks like a rather small venue. Also, I think whoever recorded this may know the children or other people in the video.
(...) And this version of the song also became a legend !... Now, that I know and feel , I would go to a concert performed by him ,just to see him ,just to get in touch with " that state of the soul " , with the concept of "continuously presence " !!!
Simplesmente lindo, fascinante, apaixonante, assistir um astro que deu mais ingredientes especiais a uma única, última e primeira interpretação genuína , obrigado Bobby .
As a little kid growing up in the early 1960s my Father played this Righteous Brothers tune regularly. It was Powerful then.......it is Powerful Now. R.I.P. Pops and R.I.P. Mr. Hatfield. Your Legacy has Stood and Will stand the Test of Time.
Such a small audience, those are some lucky folks. Bobby's voice is supernatural. A large, practically miraculous number of things have to come together to end up with a voice like that -- the vocal cords themselves, diaphram, lung power, and what singers refer to as the (4) resonance chambers (four areas of the nasal and throat cavities such as the pharynx, for example). All of that and then the musical talent, plus the interpretive sensitivity (artistry). Not to mention the basic desire to even _be_ a singer. All of these physical, mental, and spiritual things have to materialize to create that kind of magic. All of the above came together for Bobby Hatfield.
Sighhhh🌹❤️🥰💐Ohhhh my love how Miss your fantastic talent!! But you did leave us with a beautiful body of work that should be cherished for all generations to come!!! Sighhhh Oh my love!!! 🌹❤️🥰💐
Beautiful ! And " beautiful " is not a simple word ! And not a little thing also . I hope we'll meet în Heaven ,dear Bobby Hattfield, the man with angel voice that I never had the chance to meet în earthly life ! God bless your soul !!!
This is the greatest video he ever made. I will love him for all eternity and for 70 million eons. He was STILL SO BEAUTIFUL THERE...MY WELA (HOT IN HAWAIIAN) AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE THOSE LIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DIANE PERRY
Heart attack, autopsy found he needed bypass surgery. According to one of his sons, he had a doctor's appointment scheduled for after that tour. Wish it beforehand.
An older Bobby at 44 is having pitch problems right out of the gate. He using vibrato he didn't used to use and not very well. The tempo is slower. It leaves one wondering if he's gonna make it through the song. He does hit the first high note later wonderfully...then the old Bobby comes through at end with the high note, but does not end on that high note like he did on the Andy Williams Show in 1965. it;s a matter of interpretation, but he seems to be struggling here to find that groove he used to have.
