pennywise the dancing clown If I were I would just play easy then work your way up, first time I played this game I was so scared I decided to play on very easy.

Brutal is so unfair it's not even worth it. Set pieces and chase scenes are literally boiled down to luck because you die in like 2 shots.

yeah i like the speedrun as well, but it wasnt me who discovered the strats.

Also if you don't know Gothic this game normally takes about 20-30 hours to finish legitimately.

tbh I'm not sure anymore who exactly found which glitch but Mattmatt10111 and ThrillUK used to glitchhunt a lot in this so credits for finding good ways of running this goes mostly to them. (and the uc speedrun community in general) Now the 5 min airwalk is really precise and the main reason why many don't even bother with the category. - For the first longer airwalk it's pretty easy to tell where I'm gonna end up by watching the few levelelements spawning in to the right. If I'm too far to the left Sully dies and too far to the right I lose time. Once the skybox is gone I know I'm inbounds/close to inbounds again, so I pause to let the game load. - For the long chapter 4 airwalk I know that it takes pretty much exactly 5 minutes to get where I need to be. If the skybox disappears after that time it's a good sign that I might get it. (there's a backup if you miss it which loses like a minute) - For the airwalk close to the end I wait exactly 20 seconds from when he starts running, then use the cameramode to load in the collision.

Cause it wouldn't have made brutal mode as brutal. Brutal mode is quite a nice challenge, would be a waste to glitch through it.

@@Shine69yt Also when you actually encounter some of the gunfights you stand zero chance because you don't realise how punishing brutal is.

turning these on doesnt really help but it takes time to turn them on. they didnt spawn cause i didnt go in there the normal way... gotta defeat everyone outside first for them to be there.

Fast motion

Just realized that I never answered this... For those who still care: keep hipfiring when killing the last guy and going into the cutscene just before chapter 4. Not getting this pretty much kills every good run.

you walk forward and spam aim really fast. slow motion helps a lot for the glitch to work and mapping the aim button on square for example helps to make the aim spamming easier.

@@gotale9471 when youre close to an enemy and you dont aim downsights you got a strong autoaim on every difficulty level. explorer adds an autoaim to normal aiming as well which is particularly helpful in this run as most runners switch the aim button to something like square as its easier to mash for the airwalks. when you see me shoot without enemies nearby its mostly because going upstairs while hipfiring is faster than doing it the normal way. shooting also enables combat running speed when enemies are nearby.

@@Shine69yt War 100% legit. Ich bin so geblendet von dem Spiel gewesen, dass ich nicht mal auf die Idee gekommen bin, zu schauen, ob es Glitches gibt. Ich wollte es nicht wahr haben, dass selbst so ein gutes Spiel Fehler hat :D Gibt es eigentlich auch eine Erklärung, warum das überhaupt funktioniert? Mich würde es echt mal interessieren, welche Fehler dazu führen, in der Luft laufen zu könenn oder durch Wände zu gehen.

@@Royale9 naja mein run ist ja im grunde auch legit.. nur ne andere kategorie :D jap bin auchn riesen fan der uncharted reihe. puh gute frage.. ist ja oft so bei glitches dass man rumprobiert und irgendwann klappts aber einiges kann man sich nicht genau erklären.. das durch wände gehen ist wohl einfach nen problem mit der kollisionsabfrage wenn man ins zielen übergeht.. der airwalk hingegen.. ka. bin da auch nicht so sehr drin in der materie. denke mal sie haben einfach nen fehler beim programmieren gemacht was das aiming angeht.

funktioniert noch immer auch gepatcht. im grunde sind die glitches einfach, das problem des runs ist eher dass das spiel schnell abstürzt wenn man was falsch macht und der 5 min airwalk sehr präzise ist wenn man keine minute verlieren möchte. aimbreaching, also das wo ich seitlich durch die wand gehe, funktioniert indem du oft und schnell zielen drückst (auf der ps4 version doppelt so schnell wie auf der ps3 version wegen 60 statt 30 fps) und dabei nach links in die wand läufst. das funktioniert aber nicht an jeder stelle... manchmal hilfts auch n bisschen die kamera in ne bestimmte position zu bringen. den airwalk kannste eig vergessen ohne super slow motion, außer du willst dir die finger kaputt machen. dafür musste nach vorne laufen und dabei sehr oft und schnell zielen drücken. wenn du nicht so schnell l2 drücken kannst, kannste auch in den playstationeinstellung unter barrierefreiheit l2 und viereck (oder was du eben schnell drücken kannst) tauschen. ich finde jedenfalls viereck am entspanntesten. aber dann ist eben das problem dass du mit der linken hand am rechten stick zielen musst während du mit der rechten hand viereck drückst. logischerweise sind dann nahkampfattacken l2 zugewiesen.

Psychopad92 danke für die schnelle Antwort. Also geht es mit Slowmotion besser? Ich habe es jetzt mal im letzten Kapitel ohne SlowMotion (noch nicht freigeschaltet) hinbekommen. Aber einfach und schnell ist anders. Ich trigger mich zu Tode und es dauert ewig bis ich die richtige Einstellung gefunden habe. Das mit der Tastenbelegung könnte man mal versuchen. Ich werde auf meinem Razor Controller mal die zusätzlichen Tasten belegen. Dann kann ich zwei Tasten triggern. Ansonsten muss ich wohl erst auf normal durchspielen müssen.

den airwalk haste hinbekommen ohne slowmotion oder das wallbreaching? ich würde dir jedenfalls auch nicht raten das ohne slowmotion zu versuchen.. istn ziemlicher krampf.

ach für das wallbreaching brauchste auch keine slowmotion. stimmt aber schon dass das auf der ps3 entspannter ist als auf der ps4 eben weil du auf der ps4 doppelt so schnell drücken musst. dafür würds aber reichen zielen auf l1 zu packen dann sollte das auch gut gehen da du dafür nicht so extrem buttonmashen musst.

@@eduardovargas3814 there are quite a few checkpoints so that shouldnt be a problem. tho im not sure if you have to start and finish every chapter for the trophy if you really wanna use glitches for that. wallclips always help obviously.

@@Shine69yt I know I can be annoying and thank you for taking the time to read me and answer me and, abusing precisely your attention, I hope to try to explain myself in a better way. I have not memorized each and every one of the zones with their respective fights, but I have seen in other speedruns that with the clipwalls some that I do indeed identify are avoided, precisely by the clipwalls. It is clear that when you skip chapters you avoid everything in them, obviously including fights, but I do not mean the whole chapters that have been skipped, but those in which you pass them or a part of them. The way you do your speedrun, I'm not sure if there are some zones (specifically "legal zones" that were designed to play and not clipwalls) where normally there should be enemies and precisely because of the shortcuts you can't find them. In that scenario it is my doubt, if for the glitches not achieved on a first occasion or that it takes too long to do so and the enemies appear and then you have to restart the checkpoint. In those subsequent attempts the enemies that could be avoided in a first attempt will then appear where they usually should be when restarting the checkpoint thus frustrating the trick? I don't know if I was able to make myself understood, I hope so. Regards.

you can also do it without either but triggering the glitch is a lot easier with slow motion.

You have to wait until the skybox disappears and the entire screen turns grey. And the start position is always the same so that helps a lot.
