Uncle Luke threw one of the best concert performances I’d ever been to back in the day. The women performing were so beautiful. My wife was not happy about me going to see Luke’s concert. I didn’t tell her about before, I told her afterwards because if I had said something before; I would’ve never got out of the house.
Geographically Miami might as well been on it's own island in terms of Hip-Hop in the late 80s early 90s. So for Uncle Luke to break through all of that and make Rump-shaker music go global followed by the song 'Rump-Shaker' and Sir Mix-A-Lot...Luke is a trailblazer.
Being from 40 and being from/in houston i remember them Kappa Beach Party days in galveston. Went to the last one in 2000 being in sophomore in high school.
Does anyone on TBC, guests or hosts, know the history of these "Greek Festivals" ? It ALL started in 1975 in the City of Brotherly Love. It became a HUGE event by the late 70's, early 80's and continued until it started getting out of control and started spreading ALL across the city. The city had to put the kabash on it, just like Atlanta officials did with FreakÑic. And that's the truth Ruth.💯

Im from Texas. And I remember when they would play Uncle Luke and 2 Live crew at our school we would loose our minds. We would get to bouncing on each other and the teachers would come over and separate us.
Back when the only time you saw a woman's as cheeks was in adult magazines or porn, Luke's uncut videos were the most amazing thing! and his songs in the club no matter if it was upscale or not, hit HARD! But I'm glad that he's getting his props for what he did for the miami scene and how he fought against all the legislation trying to shut him down, which most young people don't know about Man I could have given some footage from my two Freaknik adventures! nothing crazy but it was wild how southern girls was twerking on request We went that last year when the city shut down all of the highways and kept you driving in a constant loop around the city. I never saw anything like that before and my city copied the technique to mess up the Greek Picnic
And I still don't know why Uncle Luke and Dre were into it til this day. Plus Luke needs his 🌼 s. He started the grinding era......And the man was responsible for signing H-Town.
I respect freedom of speech. Hip hop & Rap is different. You know the difference by the image & message being pushed. You can like both but cannot force someone who doesn't to accept either. It really depends on what you want to be associated with and/or watch/listen to. Anything you digest needs limitations/balance.
They could easily turn Freaknic into a festival held out in the country side of Atlanta like Woodstock... It could be contained to a rural area with artists on different stages, different booths etc. like Coachella
I was a student at Alabama State Univ and me an my girls went to Freaknik and I had on a white catsuit and a circle of guy (like 100 of them) surrounded me they was just lookin ...I was givin BODY...Natural Body... Good Times
What Luke said about the powers that be letting "crime" build up is extremely important. Its a perfect example of how they distract us from whats really going on and garner support to allow themselves to do as they please no questions asked.
Now after watching freaknik I learn something that no one from the ATL started it was some college students from DC who started Alanis biggest show so why is Luke in them is there and not the people who actually started freaknik give DC there props

I was looking for Uncle Luke’s tail & doggone it the man sitting right there in my face time to renewed my contacts…. ( PRESCRIPTION ONLY) Also , just for cosmetic purposes wearers be careful you must get them from An optician they aren’t to be played with you ONLY have 2️⃣ eyes 👀 🤓… I see a lot of girls wearing them w/o any doctor’s instructions.
