Uncle Roger then faced backlash from both sides as other fans complained he was cowing to the CCP with his apology.

This was an excellent interview. I'm not surprised the CCP feel threatened by light hearted jokes. The entire system relies on such a flimsy belief in its own superiority to perpetuate.

The CCP's system is like the bubble boy, but without any of the sympathetic qualities. The internal integrity of their system can't even withstand so much as wafer-thin mint, and so they apply layer after layer of protections so that they can safely bully everyone else into submission. But no matter how threatening China may try to present itself, the internal structure will always be compromised, and it will only be a matter of time before they implode.

This is a textbook example of how innocent people get unwillingly drawn into the conflict between two rival "big ideas" when all they want is to be left alone to pursue their dreams. I really enjoyed Uncle Roger before I knew about any of this. Now I have respect and sympathy for the man behind him as well.

Being forced to engage with war-mongers and thieves, simply because they have abused their positions to the point of "supreme authority" does not mean that we, the common many, who detest this tug-of-war, are out of line in choosing to be "left alone" by them. Making a conscious and concerted effort to disengage these people and their positions of power is paramount. The more energy you give them, the more they use it to persuade the world's into following them to our collective demise. Poly = many. A tick is a blood sucking parasite. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. If we are all the same why does culture even matter? All cultures seem to be vulnerable to authoritarianism I'll give you that...but one could argue some are more than others(I mean just look at Africa)...Eastern Asia certainly isn't an exception in that regard. I for one take offense to the title of this video as the CCP doesn't "cancel" people in their country, they kill or put in jail like any authoritarian gov does.

It is of scientific consensus that long before countries or religions, humanity originated in Africa...is that what you were trying to say? See, i never saw any of the stuff Mike said about the situation, But i lost all respect for Nigel when he pulled the video, so he could stay up in China. From this interview, i get that it wasn't political on his part, that he was basically being manipulated.. but after finding this out, he should have reversed course, doubled down, and did ANOTHER vid with Mike, just to demonstrate that he's about making entertaining content, not scoring geopolitical good-boi points. I unsubscribed from Nigel's stuff because of that. Ain't watched any of shit stuff since. It's a real shame, because i REALLY enjoyed Nigel's material, but i gotta stand on principle. If Mike and Nigel ever bury the hatchet, and make up, i'd be more than happy to give my support to Nigel again.
