GLAAD's Anthony Allen Ramos chats with Neil Patrick Harris, Emerson Brooks, Brooks Ashmanskas, Tuc Watkins, Darren Starr and Jeffrey Richman about their new series "Uncoupled" which premieres July 29 on Netflix. The series follows Michael Lawson (Neil Patrick Harris) who seems to have it all figured out. He’s a successful New York City real estate agent with a great career, a supportive family, close friends, and a loving relationship with his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins). But when Colin unexpectedly moves out on the eve of his 50th birthday, Michael is completely blindsided. Overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.

Love the show! Brooks and Tisha Campbell were standouts to me. Overall great ensemble cast. No weak links! Definitely laughed out loud so many times. Cant wait for S2

As a straight a woman I connected with this series sooo much! This show went beyond stereotypes and I love how it brought so much more dept to gay characters played in shows, sharing how relatable everyones experiences is. Recently going through a breakup, so I was crying alot. Kinda hoping season 2 they show the dumpers perspective on things, that would be nice :)

I want a show about an older gay man that has a low paying job and lives in a shitty bible belt town. Now we need to break the stereotype that all gay men are wealthy and live in the cool cities.

@@colby_oshawott in two days for me lol... It's great.. can't wait for 2nd season. Great show. Hit too close for me. I'm EXACTLY same age as Neil Patrick Harris. Could relate to the show very very well except for the money they have. That's it.

I also really like that even tho the fear of it was there, there was no "other man" that sometimes relationships just break up because one or both of the partners just don't work anymore.

Brooks Ashmanskas ❤is the MVP of the show. A real favorite for him (great Broadway actor). So happy for him, he deserves much more project and success. And after seeing Season 1, I would have seen him much more in Lead than NPH (which is still good).👏👑

I agree. I'd never seen him before as I'm not a Broadway person, but I thought he was great, and kept wanting to see more scenes with him. I hope we see him a lot more on screen (both big and small) after this.

As a gay man in my .....early... fifties. I really emotionally connected with all these characters. (not the money of course) When I had a really bad breakup a while back I had to have a straight man explain to me that its like getting a divorce and I am not going to immediately just "get over it." It takes a really really uncomfortable situation and lays it bare.

Binge watched this over 1 weekend - loved it. Bring on Series 2. As for should gay play gay, straight play straight - it should be the quality of the actor that decides it - you don't need to be a murderer to play a murderer.

Wouldn’t it be great if they had Kim Cattrall as a cameo on the show at some point?

I really enjoyed this show. Being an older, mature gay man....I find so much in life and living unrelatable. The whole internet thing and cell phones. I now understand my parents much more. The days I would go out to bars with a fake ID and dance my butt off. I loved the scene where Neil is at some guys apartment. He brings up the "Quilt" and the gentleman has no idea what he is talking about. I have lived through that sad time. My uncle died in 1986 from AIDS. Now we have come so far away from that. Now we have commercials for medications for HIV. I could go on about everything but I will not. I do appreciate this show because there are elements that are relatable.

As a middle aged gay man, I was excited to see a gay themed show where the main characters aren't 22 year old models in thongs or drag queens. But...Surprise, surprise it seems in Hollywood even mature gay guys have to be gym perfect, live in penthouses and earn millions of dollars to be relevant. I guess regular gay folks are just too ugly and boring to ever show up in a TV show...oh well...maybe one day someone that looks like me will be cast as office guy #5...we can hope!

To be honest there was a no from how I met your mother for me but this just gives interest. They can be prim too but the level that a woman can stoop is different too but I get they like nice things without extra investment for some reason...bee 2 1/2 EP...

Sorry, didnt do it for me. I liked the premise, but somehow it all operated on a faintly hysterical plane all the time. I love NPH, and there are some great cameos and support cast, but as a whole.... nope.
