Integrated Knife Sharpener in the knife block? Yea or Meh?? If you liked this video, you might like this Global Knife review video, too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aklyY76FeIc.html
Oh wow i keep seeing this on amazon and thinking about getting it. Full black version. They have different versions, but it just seems the extra peices are more of the bottom small knives added. Idk why I'd need 8 or 10 of the same small knife, so i was looking at the smaller piece version. Definitely going to watch this one. The ninja food processor turned out awesome! Tossed ingredients in and 2 button pushes, i have pico de Gallo in seconds 😲🔥 slicer and shredder came in handy as well. If its cut the same it'll cook roughly the same is what i heard from a chef long time ago. Im subbing so i can watch your recipe videos as well. Many thanks! 😜🔥
You're very welcome and thanks for the sub! Yeah.. The bigger knife set comes with 2 extra knives... Those ones at the bottom are steak knives. They go through steaks like butter.
I just bought the 12pc set (not stainless) for $120 including tax at Kohls in case anyone is interested. I used $15 cash back I had but the rest was coupons.
@@silkuk8417 I wound up buying them 4 months ago and as a casual they're the best set I've ever had by far. Not sure about value for quality but I'm very happy with them
Great review! But I don’t think these will be a good long term investment. I am leaning on spending my money on a Wusthof Classic Chef, pairing and Bread knife for the same cost or maybe even Global
My main set is Global. Love those knives. Well worth the investment. The handles can be a little slippery though. The price of looking super cool I guess. Haha
Curious if he knew that under where it says blade length and such it also says the type of blade steel and chose to leave that out or if he didn’t know that’s what that was
No worries it was a great review either way. I really like that you mentioned using a honing steel instead of only using the sharpener eating up the blade. I plan on buying these knives after watching this. Thanks for the great review
Another Quality review as always Joe. Brilliant channel. Once again Ninja Stitches us up in the U.K. like with the CREAMi, I would Love to buy a set of knives like you have in your video but they don’t supply us with a complete Stainless steel knife set. We have to put up with a wooden or maybe it’s a Plastic handle from the photos and they don’t look classy like the US Version. We can buy 12 knife set for £200. I can follow exactly what you was discussing and showing as I was a Butcher for 20 years and I mean a real one unlike the butchers selling meat and so many other things sadly these days.
Really Good Video on the Ninja knives, they look Impressive. My knife skills are not even close to your far Superior knife skills are. Currently, I've been using knives made by a Company called Cutco. They are very Sharp, & Expensive. They Advertise their knives as being Equal to Henkel knives as far as Quality.
The locking mechanism for the sharpener is shaped for the Ninja handles, so probably not... Even if you can fit other knives in there, it might not hold them at the right angle, which could really be pretty bad for the knives, I think.
My research tells me that there are worse choices than Ninja knives. They are not premium knives by a long shot, but like all knives, you must take care of them for them to last and remain useful. I have a couple crappy knives that are razor-sharp because I treat them better than most people treat their good knives. I use them for cutting hoses and stuff.
There's a funny story behind that... When I bought those and finally got around to recording the review, I couldn't find the scissors anywhere and it turned out my wife was out in the back yard with them trimming plants. I took them and grumbled about how they're not for that, handed her the shears and came back in with them to record that video. It's been forever since I recorded that and you're the first person to mention that, so I must have still had that in my head when I did the video and didn't even notice. haha.
Skeptical. It looks like a gimmick more than anything else. Takes control away from the person who is using/sharpening the knives. How much metal is removed each time you use it?
I was too... The Jury is still out, but it's been close to a year, I haven't seen much degredation on the cutting surface, and I slice tomatoes on a regular basis. It's good for keeping the sharpening angle consistent, but I was more concerned about the sharpener just breaking. So far so good though.
Seem to be holding up so far. It's a pretty good value if you're comparing to good knives. The blocks usually cost around 80 bucks or so, and then knives are typically something like 60 or 70 each, depending. I have a set of Globals, and those cost a forture. Time will tell about the value on these though... so far so good.
Haven't had too many issues with those myself... I tend to use my honing steel a lot though. For the most part, I never let knives start to dull, since they can be really dangerous that way. We used them quite a bit though without sharpening them for several weeks for the review though, and they seemed ok.
@chrisciraldo4935 with the sharpener, be sure to scoot that lever all the way down and all the way up before you change direction... It doesn't engage if you don't do that. That got me at first too, and I though the sharpener didn't work or something for a minute.
These knives don't look to bad, but with the dimpled handles they're supposed to look like Global knives. The grooves in the blades serve no purpose on a santoku. What puts me off the most, though, is the name. "Ninja" suggests something "sharp, dangerous and Japanese" but ninjas were a secret society of henchmen not cooks. I don't want to murder anybody with kitchen knives, just use them to cook food.
Yeah.... I hear ya... Never knew why they started putting the grooves on santoku knives.. Never saw a benefit, but every time I see one they always seem to have them.
bad review - talking about how sharp knifes come out the box. how about of putting a marker line on the edge and then applying the sharpener to see if it actually does what its supposed to do. this is clearly a clickbait title. what life-changing incredible truth were uncovered here.
