I’m LOVING watching Mick make something beautiful out of the backyard of the convent 🤗. It’s so gratifying to see the changes, and it showcases his skills.
I agree 100%, I think Alex will achieve great accomplishments in the future. Alex you would make a fab interviewer..... I can see you with your own show, interviewing people on topics that interest you, or perhaps just topics you want more understanding of, people would love learning along side you.
Mick is amazingly fit for a man of 80. He absolutely loves being out in that Convent garden. He has made such a difference Billy will be so pleased when he gets back!
The garden wall must feel like it has a new life!! Beautiful! Mick and Steve are doing a wonderful job! Simon and Yanis actually make it enjoyable to watch plaster being mixed! Puppy looks as curious as Simon looking for buried treasures! Mick knows the garden like the back of his hand! It will be grand when he finishes!! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
Something cool every day - even the little excitement of finding another medallion, another door, some more steps, evidence of past agriculture - every day tells another part of the story - Love it !
Billy, I would love to know more about the parents who raised such interesting kids. Have you ever interviewed them? I'm sure many of us would enjoy it.
If I am ever fortunate enough to visit this lovely little burgh in “rural France”, I’m sure I could find the route to Brico - no problem, after all we’ve seen it approached from every angle! 😂 no doubt that Brico loves the Pethericks!
When you replant the garden, do consider lots of trees. Cools the area, and temperatures are just rising. Makes it more useful. Give the garden a third dimension. Sounds great in the wind. And on top of that, it eats CO2, so you are a part of the solution. Who doesn't want that?
I don't see the need for them to be ripping out all of the mature trees. The ones compromising the structures for sure but hopefully they are leaving ones that are ok.
Agreed - as you describe. The area could become an elegant woodland, with careful planting of trees that maintains sight lines but also acts as a shade garden.
Today was really special seeing more of the garden come alive, finding the old door opening, the steps and sidewalk for the nuns to walk along to say the stations of the cross. I can just imagine the true beauty of this gorgeous place so many years ago. It had to be just such a tranquil, special place. Mick you will have to try cooking some steaks at the chateau using that grape wood! I look for that NY Yankee cap every day on Mick. They are in 1st place in the American League East by a mere 1&1/2 games, with the Boston Red Sox coming up this weekend. Great video Alex, capturing all the progress happening at the convent.
Hey Alex. Noticed that instead of inserting a beep to sensor words today, you just removed the sound. This is so so much better than having the bleep tone come over instead I really appreciate that the feedback i gave and perhaps others also gave has been heard and changes were made to suit. Looking forward to the next video
I love the natural sounds make me feel not only like expextator but be part of this amazing project❤❤, Alex professional picture, Simon knolowdge, Yannis special light, and Mr Patherics so adorable ❤❤❤, Rick and everyone are a wonderful workers and I'm enjoying very much what you do❤❤ I love everyone and my respect to Billy, his vision is admirable !!!!
The garden is transforming before our eyes. I love watching Mick the master gardener at work, and Steve is along for the ride as well. See you all tomorrow! Love from Canada 🇨🇦
The clearing of shrubs on the wall makes it look much better and looks bigger. It looks like things are moving along fine, Billy will be happy when he returns, thanks for sharing.
So many discoveries in the yard where Mick is with Steve. These Fathers who can do anything and know everything are treasures. I had one of those and miss him and my Mother so much. Layla doesn’t want to be left out of anything.
Wonderful to see Mick and Steve clean the beautiful stone wall. Simon and Yanis work so well together and the metal detecting was interesting. Crack on gentlemen. You all did an excellent job in Billy’s absence. 🇨🇦❤️
The convent wall is really a lovely thing and the work involved is really staggering. As someone who loves a beautiful landscaped garden it is a delight to see that the crew is not neglecting the outside beauty of the place. Bravo!
I follow many reno projects on YT... and I enjoy each & every one for various reasons & projects, but if I could be magically transported to one spot ATM it would plunked next to Mick in the garden. That view @5:50 😍 or watching Simon detecting the property. love it! Thanks so much Alex & all the crew 👍
I find Simons explinations of the plastering technique very interesting. I very much enjoy watching Simon and Yanis plastering ceilings and walls. I could watch it every day. We all have out vices 🤣
love watching the 2 teams work so well together. Mick and Rick are transforming that back space and finding all kinds of different architecture. Yanis and Simon work so well together. Yanis must be fun to be around.
Mick is bringing back the garden beautifully with the help of Rick and Steve. It is very enjoyable watching all of that invasive Ivy being removed. Seeing the stone wall and old exits are awesome. Yanis and Simon are doing awesome.
I looked it up why they use grapevine wood in restaurants. It's supposedly very ideal to smoke with. It smokes a lot, gives the food a fruity flavour, and burns long due to it's fiberous nature.
I’d much rather hear the construction noise. I don’t mind some music like an intro or an exit, but I don’t watch videos because I’m wanting to listen to music🤷♀️ I am loving all this amazing progress!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mic,Yanis,Simon,Alex, and Steve. The ceiling does take a lot of time to complete. The outside yard is beautiful, huge, with a lot of potential. All the religious metals could be cleaned and stored for souvenirs. Well my darlings until tomorrow. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🇺🇸😇🙏🌞🌹🕊❤️🌈👍
The garden is coming nicely. I would suggest bringing in someone who could help rehabilitate the fruit trees and the grape vines, maybe the those vines might be a rare variety just grown in the convent
When I saw that wire coming down I knew right away grapes had been grown there. That's what my grandparents used to grow along the outside fence of their garden. You can start them up again; I'll bet they grow really fast in that climate.
Hey Simon and company, I didn't realize just how much land was around the convent. Mick, Rick and Steve are doing a tremendous backbreaking job clearing it all out. I can't believe the energy Mick has; he is a warrior of work that's for sure. Billy is going to be so surprised and happy when he gets back, with everything that has been accomplished inside and out. Well, done this week team. Love from N.Y.
Could you do a drone view. Plus the what is on the other side of the old gate. Great idea if possible to make entrance into the garden area for truck pickup and for garden functions (wedding).
😂😂😂 Makes my efforts clearing the ivy from several parts of my modest courtyard garden look like child's play. At least I had an adjustable long-handled ratchet pruner. They take so much of the hard work out of thick wooden roots of long-established ivy; secateurs just can't quite cut through them.
Idk if it’s global or just American, but we use grapevine branches to make wreaths. They’re cut, then soaked in water, then wrapped around something round, like a barrel. I have an old window pane, with mirrors where the glass would’ve been & a grapevine wrapped around the whole frame. A gift from my mother. I love it, but dusting grapevine is not easy. 😂
It’s been such a fun variety of things this week. Glad that Simon put the grass back in place - I was thinking Billy might take a dim view of a lawn full of holes 🕳️ 😂 😬 It’s a little distressing seeing all the old growth and trees torn down in the garden and replaced by lawn, but it’s also exciting to see what’s behind (and underneath) all of it. Thanks for filming the work in the garden - can’t wait to see the drone footage. You’ve all worked so hard this week, you must be ready for the weekend! And Yanis still has to bicycle home 🚴🏼!! 🫶🏻
The garden wall looks spectacular with vines removed. How wonderful it will be to plant grapes again. My vines grow onto a small tree that supports them. It's lovely to reach up to pick them.
Mick enjoys doing outside work and it certainly keeps him young. Steve and Rick are hard working men and great support to Mick. Layla is such a sweet dog and Yanis is a dog magnet! I think when the grass comes up it will be a lovely place for a table and chairs for the men to have their lunch. That metal detector certainly turns up some interesting things. Simon, I’m waiting for you to dig up a few bars of gold!!! ❤
An ornamental dining area would be amazing in the garden with a foot path and fountain and some nice flower pots .It would go with the theme of the rooms and especially if you have a chef on staff .
It would be so cool if they could find someone who lived during the time the nuns were at the convent and interview them to see what actually happened there and how things were at the time and how things were done.
It is so wonderful seeing the amazing progress both inside and out at the convent! You all are absolutely amazing and should be ever so proud of all you have accomplished. Praying that the Lord blesses you with everything you stand in need of: strength, favor, wisdom, peace, joy, and blessings beyond measure. Be safe and take care! You're always in our prayers🙏
The garden is going to be amazing once the greenery is gone and the grass is green...not to mention the plastering, what a transformation and vision...WOW...!
