I have a 5 y.o. tiger brindle male Frenchie. I wanted a brindle.Hes longer, taller, leaner than most. He doesn't suffer from breathing issues. Hes very active & is not very obedient but i love him so much!
I noticed that the brindle dogs are usually more CHILL, more relaxed and great to have as a pet. I have a brindle and blue Merle. Since blue Merle’s come from other breeds I can see a very clear difference in instincts and personality. My blue Merle moves super fast as if she was a very excited PIT
Your videos on here and on TikTok are great, you speak like you are actually speaking to us, not at us. We have learned so much from your videos over the past year!
I’m so new to this game that I haven’t even copped my first dog. I’m in the research phase and your video was very informative and very easy to understand, Preciate you! And, I dropped a like
Great post. So here's the deal: when you decide to avoid the structurally correct dog that is either brindle and/or pied and you CHOOSE to breed INSTEAD a less ideal (a.k.a. "PET") dog that has the "desirable" DNA color panel (rookie move), you have now bred the JV-string over your MVP. And when you do that for 3+ generations, all you've done is pick the second string to breed to the second string... overlooking the obvious... the actual DOG that you WANT. Most of the jack-wipes who post the "no brindle/no pied" matra have zero understanding of the genetics you discussed... and they are missing the boat. And they have "undesireable" dogs that are desireable colors and nothing more.
100%! My brindle boy is from a litter of ALL colors and patterns. His brother is Blue Merle (big boi) and was also adopted within our family. Their litter included a Pied boy and also a Cream girl.Their Papa was Blue Merle I think and Mama was brought home from Ukraine when their owner was in the military. They are all GORGEOUS and HEALTHY. No inbreeding and no line breeding. My only regret is we didn't bring the Pied brother home with us too. He was precious and I guess we weren't ready for WWE every day haha. They have the best structure and temperament I've seen a group of Frenchies so far. All dogs are wonderful but Bulldogs are just my spirit dog I guess. Ethical breeding is worth EVERY PENNY.
I’ve got a pied male (white and blue) and brindle female (black and chocolate) and we have a very colorful litter (2 brindle, 1 reverse brindle, 2 blue, 1 blue and chocolate, 1 tri color (black, tan, and white), and 1 tan)!!
So I have no clue about genetic science but I'm learning thanks for your knowledge, I bred my brindle male to an blue gray looking female and the first litter they spit out a jet black male witch was the runt and turned out to be the shortest stockists bully structure and second litter a brindle female came out and oh my goodness the most absolute perfect structure. Everything is starting to make sense to me. I picked the keepers from my own judgment, and I must admit I saw something right. Thanks again
I have a pied female fluffy and she always gets compliments on how she looks like a fluffy cow and her structure she can jump on a wall at waist level with ease and run with no breathing issues but she does snore when she’s in deep sleep lol
Also having my first litter your videos are great some of the pups look like they have a pied but instead of a black patch like the mom some are Merle patch
Strangely enough, I have a pied from a breeder who actually breeds out some of the compactness and brachycephalic traits. She actually births the pups naturally with an on call vet on standby. He is a long and healthy pied Frenchie and the vet commented on these traits, and told me that I have a healthier than average example of the breed.
Great video! Thank you....This is exactly what my fiance has been saying for years... We chose a black brindle Frenchie for her amazing structure. We also had a black brindle from Europe that was sired by international champion that was amazing.
No wonder people stare at my pied Frenchie- he looks more bulldog than frenchie, until you see his face. His pied pattern on his face makes him look like a Boston terrier.
I just acquired a red brindle oeb and his is wonderful. He looks like a tiger and is so much more interesting to look at than all other of his siblings and they were pied. People love looking at him and compliment us daily. He stands out
@@BulldogBreeder thank you! We heard breeders don’t want brindles after our baby came to us. It makes us sad. His breeder never even advertised him. We saw our puppy in a video we were supposed to be looking at to get his brother. Makes us sad the breeder didn’t think our baby would be wanted.
I got a pied Frenchie and honestly is true she got the best structure I’ve seen in most “exotic” frenchies around in my opinion plus some frenchie owners always ask what kind of dog is it since you really don’t see the around much
I have a pied Merle and she is beautiful. When I bought another Frenchie, the breeders said Gertie was perfect - perfect structure etc Thanks for this video!
I agree 💯, pied and brindle frenchies are beautiful! My first frenchie was blue brindle and my current frenchie is just blue. But My new favorite coat type is Pied, red brindle with a black mask. My next frenchie will definitely be this color.
Great video & beautiful set up! Thinking about breeding my blue and tan male when he gets old enough. Do you have any recommendation on possible shows? Since the AKC does not recognize blue as a color I can’t show him just register him
@@BulldogBreeder I’ve been trying to google but all I get is AKC and the Frenchie who want at westminster. If you have any suggestions I’d greatly appreciate it. Not asking to be spoon fed or anything just a general direction.
Thank you for all of your color/coat genetic lessons - you are my Gene Idol! Still looking for your Fawn Sable genetic explanation - I want to understand Pecan Pie's color variation
I just got myself a 11 week old pure breed pied french bulldog. His linage is champion show dogs. He has pedigree papers. I'm not allowed to show him or breed from him and that's OK with me. He is my companion and I am happy.
We know brindle, pied, and fawn have structure. Thats too easy, but if you have a dog free of that and has structure. Thats harder to do. Thats why the desire.
Lol no it’s not it got popular when people wanted to produce tan points now new people are just repeating what they see on fb & don’t even know why. That’s crazy
Amazing work! you need to be very happy about all of your work and what you can pull together! You are for me one person to follow your steps in my country Portugal...Sorry for the English! Please continue doing this amazing work! ;) :)
Pie and brindle dog are hard af! BUT‼️ THEY DONT LOOK BETTER THEN LILAC TRI OR CHOCOLATE TRI. AND COLOR DOG HAVE JUST AS MUCH STRUCTURE. ITS LIKE YOU WANT A I PHONE 📱 2 OR A I PHONE 13 PRO.
Pieds are some of my favorite dogs. I've been saying it for a long time you watch, all these exotic colors are going to become so commonplace people are going to want brindle and pieds again... I'm actually going for Irish pied in my program
If a Frenchie has or potentially has ivdd does that remove them from breeding ? I have a female puppy coming in a few weeks and my male who is 18 months was diagnosed with a c4-c5 disc extrusion.. Is this something that has happened with any of your Frenchiees ? The goal was to breed my pair together and have been working with there breeder to start breeding but wanted to get your feedback Also my male is a blue fawn and the female is cocoa fawn, would their pups be fawn blue and chocolate? Even if you don’t answer, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. I own a dog daycare and wanted to start breeding as well and am learning a ton Like you mentioned in the video I’d be a new breeder and these pups would go to friends and family. I don’t wanna give them a unhealthy pup
@@BulldogBreeder damn man that’s unfortunate.. is this something you test for? yeah I’d definitely consider it , I’m still a year and a half before she’ll be ready to breed. You have beautiful dogs and expertise so I’m assuming the stud fee is going to be pricey. I’m looking to learn from people and work with experienced breeders . I can message you or find you on social media . I would even throw some bills your way to ask you some questions
Love this! I have 3 brindles and breed standard and show, I did my research and have two old lines from Europe that go back 100+ years brought structure & world winning lines to my kennel . brindles are most dominant in shows.
That’s great your about to be busy with all the poorly bred Frenchie being created right now. Data can be misleading. Scientific evidence is what matters & there are none yet connecting pied to these things.
Honestly im a new breeder and mine has brindle and she looks amazing so did her puppies... she looks like a beast i dont care about color but structure on my english bulldogs!! Keeo up the good videos!
Great Vid. I have a reverse brindle male. I always get asked to stud him out. I never have. Like you said. I would just be starting and it’s not worth it to me.
Super Crazy buy I just bought my female pied Reverse brindle dog and she is huge and super swole really happy with her shes amazing lol thanks for the vid !!!
Actually brindles and cream are the OG of frenchies those with the lilac fur and the so call “exotic” like the fluffy fur are mix breeds and people are paying lots for a mix breed dog.I love my brindle I payed so cheap for him it was ridiculous and yet still I get everyone we come across going crazy over him.
Your Mastif is very gentle with the frenchies so cute. People are so uneducated when it comes to animals! Love your frenchies, not fond of some of the puppy mills with these awesome dogs, showing piles of money disgusting. Some ignorant people shouldn't be allowed. Thank you for your video! ❤
Brindle pied fawn are only recognised in the kennel club all these other colours are not original they are lovely colours but I think pied n brindle don’t get the respect they deserve there all beautiful I have a pied girl n cream lilac boy both nice colours
I only sell AKC standard colors like Brindle, cream, Fawn thank you for standing up for the Brindle they are beautiful dogs and pied they get a bad rap great video
Also can you make a video on how to take care of new borns Frenchie’s I’m having a problem with puppies eating and throwing milk from the nose I read it could be liked to aspiration pneumonia
People with exotic colors are recent crosses just like the long hair type. Something was crossed into them. Don’t get me wrong they all look great but long hair should be a total different breed.
the special effects sounds that accompany the graphics are WAY too loud. It's twice as loud as the voice in your vids. Gotta turn it down, it drowns out your talking.
I love your content bro. I have a question, hoping you can answer this or anybody that is in the comments. I am looking to breed my lilac female to one of my studs he’s a blue brindle one of my concerns is he has really big ears and they never went up. Should I be worried about the pups coming out with floppy ears. I am new to breeding so I never came across this just asking if this is gonna be a mistake.
That shouldn’t be a problem with pups. That’s a vitamin deficiency with your dog go get the multivitamin off my site big-bone-bulldogs.myshopify.com/products/all-in-one-multivitamin
I have to agree with you totally. I have a brindle. He's compact, big bone, and beautiful color, dark grey, and light brown highlights. He so well behaves and has a great temperament. These other franchises are starting to look ugly. Some look like Boston terriers, and some look like bullies. I want to mate him. Lets go.
so i wanna kept the structure using the pie an brindle color but how do you get the other colors you desire an the structure all at once ? like the merle’s lilac an tan point
You are truly appreciated. Cynthia from Oklahoma 👋 *following 🤍 I have a Lylic and tan rotten baby girl. She turned a year old 8th, So much to learn every day" but she well more than worth it !!💘
