Uncovering The Secrets Of An Underwater Dump: Mysterious Ww2 Id Tags, Relics, And Silver Coins!

In today's video, I go snorkeling in the river exploring an old bottle and trash dump that has spilled into the river. I find many treasures including silver coins, bottles, and World War Two relics. The soldier's identification tag that I found has a mysterious story that I am still trying to unravel.
About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my RU-vid "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
BTW, you can also catch me here, / chiggsarmy ,but I may get a little edgier there. FB isn't a place for kids anyway...lol.

The ROA badge is a Radio Orphan Annie decoder, on the back is the decoder, it is meant to spin. Little toys sold through a radio series program to kids. Pretty cool, and a very interesting part of US history.

The 1938 Ovaltine Radio Orphan Annie decoder badge is really cool. Kind of an iconic sort of item. When I was a kid it was more Cracker Jacks and cheap cereal prizes. Love the bomber earring too. How cool would it be if you found the matching one! Really intrigued about the ID tag. Thanks for sharing another awesome adventure, Master Chigg!

The large badge is a child's secret decoder badge. ROA stands for Radio Orphan Annie, and the smaller SS beneath stands for Secret Society. During the Little Orphan Annie radio show, a "secret message" was broadcast for only the kids who were had the decoder badge, which was distributed by the sponsor, Ovaltine.

I really like the way sound travels underwater, a lot of noises in air are really abrasive and unpleasant but the water smooths them out. This was kinda like an ASMR video for me, lol. The P-38 earring might be my favourite find in all the years I've watched this channel, a really well crafted miniature of a beautiful plane.

I always appreciate it when you make every effort possible to return identifiable items, especially the Identification or dog tags. I may have mentioned before elsewhere, but I have the tags of someone who was extremely important to me. They hang next to me in my work area. I know how I would feel if I lost them and believe the return to their owner or family would be more than appreciated. It's just another reason why so many have love and respect for all you do.

it was not unusual back in the day that municipalities would burn their trash pile occasionally and dump the remains and ash piles into nearby bodies of water, there were no real rules on pollution or things like that, back then , it was out of site out of mind . even ponds and creeks in the area I grew up in Canada , wasn't weird to find dump sites on the banks and in the water

Hey Chig .I enjoy your videos . I do the same kind of hunting in the water and on land. I’m in SW Pennsylvania. I hunt a site very similar and it’s loaded with relics, tokens, coins and other goodies. I’ve been detecting enthusiastically since I was 13 back in the days of the lunch box detectors. I started with BFO detector and then graduated into the transmit receiver detectors. I’m finding the same type of items in the creek I dig in. There is so much metal in the creek a detector goes crazy.can’t wait for warmer weather to get some mask time in.
