Ancient “Abu”, which means “elephant” or “ivory”. Let’s take a walk through Elephantine island; 5000 years of history in one place. On this once one of the greatest islands on the Nile another Egyptian triad of gods was worshiped and built temples for: Satet - goddess of annual inundation, Khnum - god of the sources of the Nile, and Anuket - goddess of the cataracts. Traces of the oldest temple date back at least to the 32nd century BCE. It was dedicated to the goddess Satet, who was the head of the Elephantine triad until the New Kingdom, when Khnum became the chief god of Elephantine.

Let’s explore the ancient city - structures raised by the pharaohs of the Middle Kingdom (Senusret/Sesostris and Mentuhotep II), the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III) as well as urban structures spanning a period of more than two thousand years.
Let’s get to know more about the ancient history, beliefs, and architecture of this wonderful place!
Explored in 2022.
It's a must-see video for all of you, who visit Egypt or Aswan for the first time. To appreciate and cherish the magic of the place before you travel to Egypt, Aswan or Upper Egypt watch this. My vlog / full documentary will give you a little taste of ancient wonders: ancient architecture, ancient beliefs, and ancient history.

@@ancientsitesgirl Absolutely correct ASG. The ancient Egyptians had to be master stone masons...because they didn't have any wood. They even went to war in the Lebanon to get their cedar wood. Thank you for your reply.

If you don't believe or think it's lost ancient technology tell me how these granite boxes were made? iI'm a 60 year old bricklayer/stone mason I'm I'm yet to hear any explanation that holds water. They claim Dynastic Egyptians built the pyramids and granite boxes etc, but they were a Bronze Age culture and as such didn't have the tools to cut granite, let alone polish it and build granite vases that are within nano size of perfection. Why do you think you get those messed up graffiti carved into those granite boxes, they didn't have the technology to even carve a straight clean line on those boxes

That was so cool Irena. Once again you did a brilliant job. So sorry you couldn't show us the chapel at the end, maybe you will have your luck next time. The way you know all the history is amazing, you must have studied so hard. I was especially touched by the inscriptions of the Elephantine Jews and how they prayed to the female goddess of Yahweh and very interesting about the Torah and how that could have been the time it was written. I do believe that Elephantine was a portion of Ethiopia as Ethiopia was a bigger part of Africa than today And it was documented by the ancient Greeks. And WOW that shrine is definitely ancient high technology, otherwise how did they do that, amazing!! I would love to know your opinion on that but I understand if it's best for you to keep your thoughts to yourself. I loved the flowers in your hat, beautiful just like you ⚘⚘⚘ Thanks again AncientSitesGirl 🧡🧡🧡

Obviously a lot of reconstruction had to be done. It's obvious that stones were placed wherever they would fit, making no effort to match the "keys" or tabs that were used to keep stones in place. Still, it's nice that the effort was made rather than leaving the buildings in piles of rubble.

@@evrica707 Elephantine was the Second Temple for 400 years, because it housed the Ark. No place can be called a temple, unless it contains the Ark (per the Bible)

@@TWOCOWS1 Do you know any good and truthful documentary on that? And what do you think about the First Temple? Was it in Namibia, South Africa?
@TWOCOWS1
@TWOCOWS1 9 месяцев назад
@@evrica707 I read articles in academic journals. The first temple was at Shekhem (Neapolis/Nablus) and was run by the Samaritans, and held the Ark. There are still 5000 Samaritans there, who follow a different line of Mosaic relgion, different from Jews who are from Judea. They are Hebrews, but not Jews. David stole the Ark from the temple there, brought it to his own place and built a new temple around it. The place came to be called Jerusalem (Ur Shalaim= city of peace) Solomon built even a bigger temple there, the foundation of it today is the "Rock" (over which the Dome of the Rock is built much much later by the Muslims to protect it). When the Babylonian invaded, the Ark was take to Egypt (in Africa) and to the Elephantine Island where a new temple was built (the remains of the temple is still therre are Elephantine) It stayed there for 400 years. Then when Ethiopia became largely Jewish, it move there to Oxum and stayed there until the invading British.took it in the 1860s or so. Now no one knows where it is kept: UK or US. There was certainly an artifact identified (true or false) as the Ark. So, no need for magic or stuff, but an artifact moviing around from hand to hand.

They, the old kingdom ppl, were worshipping live creation like the animals. The period was before Joseph son of Jacob. Joseph was an intelligent person which he acquired from dreams he always had. Joseph was telling them not to worship creations but instead he told them to acknowledge the powers of the Essence that are the cause of creations, both the Seen and the Unseen. Acknowledging these Essences, Joseph could command creations, especially the Unseen Jinns to build megastructures out of rocks. Solomon too had acquired knowledge of the Essences and summoned the Jinns to build the Solomon Temple out of Dolomites.
