Uncut video of ride from north entrance (Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße) to the top of the road on KTM 390 Adventure, just with sound of engine! Enjoy!
Soooo surprised this video is about to hit 30k! Never expected this, thank you for watching it. Please subscribe if you would like to see more motorbike & travel content. More subscribers = more motivation for me to produce something better ;)
I visited this lovely Road with my Husqvarna Svartpilen this year. Next year i'll be back again with the KTM 390 Adventure. I am so exited already ! Thank you for this insight :) Btw. i drove from the other side up to the mountain (Heiligenblut) and stayed over night at the mountain in a shelter on the "Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe" . Had so much fun! Please if you visit the Großglockner, take your time! Don't rush through!
Great vid! just bought on two weeks ago and love it. First bike in 30 yrs so that says something. Exhaust will be first mod shortly otherwise a super fun bike!
I bought mine last week, like you the exhaust was the first thing that had to go, stock sound sucks 😂 and the horn 🙄 seriously 😳 thats next! Ride safe!
Great video Rudolf! I read that you captured the sound with a RØDE microphone near the exhaust. How did you mounted it and how come there is no aerodynamic noise? Did you use any fur windshield?
Yes I have recorded it to Røde Smartlav+ Lavalier (without any adjustments to mic). It was just taped with black solid tape on the back of the original KTM pannier, then cable run (also taped on some points for security) into panniers & recorded on Samsung S8 (I think). Honestly I am quite surprised by outcome to, because I managed to destroy that mic and replaced by Saramonic Lav, then connected to Røde Wireless Go which transmits it directly to DJI Action cam (which I used even here, I just got tried of syncing) and result is not that good - and now I am not sure if it is Saramonic Mic, Transmitter (due to volume management, despite I tried all 3 settings) or fact that I am recording it directly DJI Action cam. I even tried to record on Røde Wireless Go under the seat of Ducati second bike) and again not sure about the result. Last week I realised that I had wind noice cancelation on DJI on - which might have caused troubles, however I just need to experiment further, however winter is coming to Europe and I might not have chance to do it until March/April.... Will try to keep you posted if you subscribe ;)
Thanks for sharing Rudolf, nice video and recording sound. May I ask what do you think about KTM 390 Adventure for riding in such road conditions, decent enough power? I am a fan of KTM 390 Adventure and waiting for the launching in my country (They postponed the grand event due to Covid-19), cannot wait to test ride it.
Hello & sorry for replying so late. Despite it might be not useful. I believe KTM has definitely decent power for smaller roads like these. You can even do highway slightly above 130 km/h cruising, but anything above you definitely literally squeezing power out of it. Yes, there are more power-full bikes, but it has enough power to deliver smile. Great bike to have fun, while staying within legal limits.
WOW! Great you liked it so much. I have actually two potential videos in pipeline: review of this KTM, similar video of this one with Ducati Scrambler - just can not get to same location at the moment so would have to use local roads :)
The exhaust is stock. In that video - I think I use quickshifter quite often. The one KTM 390 Adventure, is more on agricultural side of mechanics, rather then rafined Swiss watch approach, but it works in 99% of occasions. I have actually bought bike without it, but after I realised how much more often you change gears on these small displacements - I decide to put it in. Then if I remember correctly even KTM dealer advised not to overuse it, but I don’t know my pattern of using it - it just comes naturally :) Would I recommend quickshiter for this bike? Yes, I would. ;)
Kambojas Kambo LMAO - Yeah for sure I will definitely spend hours replacing simple video with sound of something else so it matches revs and gear shifts :)))
@Kambojas Kambo dude, you are hilarious! I hope you are trolling. As Rudolf said, for replacing the original single cylinder's sound with a 2-cylinder one, it would take 1 hour to synchronise for just 1 minute of video. But I am sure that Rudolf has a super duper AI adaptive-learning software that does that while he is enjoying riding his bike.
Super video ! Ich habe ein Ktm 390 Adv,Das motorrad ist sehr gut! Nechste jahr ich mochte viel motorrad fahren Austria. /Gross,Malta,Nockalmstrasse...../ Liebe Grusse Sala aus Ungarn!
Yes 100% stock, this is just good mic position. In real I do not find sound note impressive at all :) especially when comparing it to Termignoni on my Ducati Scrambler :)))
Thank you, you are right I shift like a pig here! Anyway, could you please suggest how to improve my shifting skills? Or would you even be willing to teach me how to do it properly?
@@rudolfkrcmar easy, pal ! Here's my way to upshift : When in motion, say in any gear, while you're revving it up just load the shift lever a bit, next when you reach your desired rpm simply and quickly close and open the throttle without using the clutch and holding the same load on the lever. To downshift : while in motion close the throttle, load the shift lever a bit and, at the same moment, quickly pull and release the clutch while open and shut the throttle. The gears should pass smooth and you'll get the trick soon ! If the bike has a quickshifter I'll only say it works better at high rpm. Buenas rutas !
@@rudolfkrcmar then, as I said, try to change at more high rpm. Don't close or move the throttle when upshift (16:32) and keep it close while downshift.
Yeah agree with you 100%! This was just spontaneous recording and idea to put it on RU-vid honestly I was expecting max 1000 views in 1 year! So this is very nice surprise for me & motivates me to start creating more content as well as bring it to next level. Feel free to subscribe - that is push I need! :)
@@Taliinburged completely stock. Only change I was considering in that department was Akrapovic, but was not impressed with sound of it. So exhaust system is 100% stock ;)
It is 250 EUR extra. It isn’t the best one, but that is definitely an accessory I would recommend since on this displacement you have to do quite a lot of shifting.
@@rudolfkrcmar Thank you for the quick response! I am thinking about buying one, because I'm 1,87m tall and I think it's a good bike for tall people in this price range.
@@wüstenrufer Although many people do work for 50 ct/hr, but manufacturing of such high tech commodities are done by highly trained professionals, who are paid good. It's Austria not India. There are rules to follow. Moreover, respect the fellow commuters and cyclists. Plus the steep heights and curves of the Alps with the plush roads. A bike of this capacity will always struggle to keep up with the traffic.
