I can only speak to my shopping experience. The items I buy every week, at my grocery, are 50% more expensive than they were three years ago. That's not 12%, 24% or 40% inflation. It's more like 15-18%. I wish the federal government would AT LEAST stop insulting my intelligence with sloppy lies and made up statistics when I can look around and know they are wrong.

Well, Bidenomics is basically gaslighting folks by telling them inflation is lower than before when it already had skyrocketed to painful levels. Imagine if that 50% increase happened the very 1st month in office, he'll say it's been 0% since then, and that inflation is down. To me, it has to go negative to be good news for us. Note that a 14.5% year-to-year inflation rate yields a 50% increase after 3 years: 1.145^3 = 1.501123625 .

As a single father of 13 year old twins I only eat once a day normally at work which 9 times out of 10 is the cheapest frozen dinner I can find in stores. Because I can barely afford to feed house and provide for my twins! I am a maintenance electrician in the USW(United Steel Workers) union local 1917 in Pennsylvania. So I make almost $27 an hour. I had to buy a little compact car due to my daily hour drive to and from work because I just cannot afford to drive my pickup. This country is absolutely pathetic and until our government starts to put "Americans First" we will be in even worse situations! Not to mention Im considering pulling my twins out of public schooling because of the non-academic crap they try to brainwash my kid with. Thankfully so far the way I've raised them has helped them reject this crap. But I'm trying to figure out how to put them in home schooling. "WE THE PEOPLE" need our country back!

The rates are higher because they're multiplied. 1.09*1.03 = 1.1227 . I've seen many items increase by over 50% -- that's equivalent to 14.5% each year, for 3 years: 1.145^3 = 1.501123625 .

I couldn’t afford to heat my house all this winter…I’ve had to go to food banks a couple times in the last six months because I couldn’t afford to buy groceries…I’ve lost so many clients (I clean houses for a living) I’m barely scraping by…my refrigerator died 2 weeks ago and I can’t afford to replace it. Because their "core" so-called "metric" doesn't include any of those things. The "core inflation" is based on "a basket of goods" that a statistically typical "consumer" might be "interested in", which is fancy code talk for "core inflation is based on everything that nobody cares about." The stuff everybody cares about (food, fuel, housing) are conveniently left out. Also they only talk about the inflation _this month only_ which was "3 percent", they never talk about the _cumulative inflation_ since 2020 which is pushing 100%.

The thing is, 3% inflation doesn't mean everything is 3% more expensive. It just means that things are continuing to go up, but at a slow pace. Unfortunately, all of the high prices caused by 2022's 9% inflation are here to stay.. Also, what the current inflation number doesn't take into account is Cumulative Inflation.. If we calculated all that up, the real inflation number is closer to 20%...

I'm disabled. I get an extra $50 a month to cover inflation. I used to get a 99 cent ice tea as a treat in the morning. Now it's $2 and I can't do it. The other items have gone up so much I've had to cut back there too. It's definitely far more than $50 a month in increased costs

Living up North, you only worry about winter cooling, but here in Texas, you are wiped out in the summer with outside temps consistently over 100 degrees. The winter heating can be tough too, but summer is impossible. I can put on heavy clothes in winter, but summer leaves no option but to sit in a house at 85+. Retired on fixed income and food, home insurance, and utilities are off the charts. We got a meager increase in social security that is a fraction of the real cost of inflation. The calculation of inflation by the government is another scam they pull on us. When you elect liars, you get lies!

There are lots of items that cost over 50% from 2021, so they're averaging about 14.5% increase each year, for 3 years. Other foods have gone up by over 100%. So many important things not covered by the bogus CPI has gone up. Housing has gone up much higher, and so has fuel and electricity prices.
