Yaaaay! That makes me so happy to hear! That's always the goal with our videos, to inspire you guys to live your own creative lives so please let us know anything and everything else you need / want to see in our future videos. Love you all LOTS! xo - mr. kate
If you're in the US, go to a Goodwill in the wealthiest neighborhood or suburb in your area. You would be surprised but not every trip is a win. Don't give up!
This was definitely my favorite episode EVER! I think it's more relatable and realistsic cause so many people can't afford new furniture and expensive decoration but still want a lovely home. These episodes are a super cool way to give us some inspiration to style a room on a budget and is more challenging for you :) I'm moving in my first own flat soon and I got almost everything second hand and painted and upcycled it! It is not only so much cheaper but also looking more personal. So excited for the result!
You should do a video where joey buys, decorates, and diys a whole room. You can give him the style and color pallete you want and he does the whole thing, and then you get surprised at the end!
This is such an inspiration for me. I recently suffered by HURRICANE MARIA. I practically lost my bedroom and my whole home. I now have to start over and I guess that this is just such... an inspiration. Thank you Mr. Kate
Andrea Marie wait there was another hurricane I swere this year has been tough for everyone and I feel like hurricane hardy has to do with something and I am really sorry about you losing your house to that hurricane I lost my house to hurricane Irma and no I do not live in Florida i do live close to it and due to that I had a tropical storm and the wind was strong enough to knock down a huge pine tree onto our house luckily no one was in the house
I love Mr Kate's design choices because it's 6 years later and her choices still look really good, modern and relevant - she's a timeless creative weirdo!
I love that you guys did something fairly cheap because it makes it easier for people like me who want a nice room but can't spend a lot of money on it, to find inspiration and a sort of guide to build a great room
As a tip, I'd make the most out of your money on your bed! It's where you rest each night, so that's the item I personally would want to be the most luxurious in my room. But that's just an opinion :)
Kate never fails to amaze me with how just absolutely creative she is. I absolutely adore this channel I’ve watched nearly all their series and I’ve only know of this channel for like a month. Spectacular.
@@leeleeb7413 darn right. And they have an abundance of hoarders here who make a career of buying all the good stuff. Or you have "antique" stores who jack up prices on regular shit that you could probably buy at walmart or target or something.
Awe, she’s so cute. I’m so glad she gets a new room to enjoy and I wish her the very best in life. I’m sending you my positive vibes. You got this girl!
This is AMAZING!! Kate you're literally so creative and great at designing! I still can't believe you did this under $300...I just redid my room and it was about $1500 in total...I wish I had seen this before I spent all that money!!!
Omg, best makeover ever! Seriously you need to do more of these rooms on a budget challenges because the creativity gets doubled when you do. And considering how much you start out out with, that's a whole heck of a lot of creativity! And the theme song is back! Yay!
This video makes me happy!! It's so cleansing to change your space after a breakup. I did a budget overhaul to my bedroom after a break up too. Now it's very pastel, vapourware and girly. Filled with crystals, pop art and good energy. You've really inspired me to take better care of my space where before everything was blah. I love Mr Kate 🐙🌸💝
I would love to see one of these budget rooms for maybe a "Rustic" or "Cozy Cabin" living room or bedroom❤️ My mom is going through a divorce and if she gets to keep the home, I would love to eventually help her redecorate it to her taste.. she had been a stay at home wife/ mother for the past 15 years; but when my stepdad left her, she had to get to work, to pay bills and keep the home. She is a waitress because the tips are the only way she can afford the bills. Me, I currently work part-time at a local Floral shop due to lack of job opportunities in my small town... So anything we do to the house has to be on a budget. Also, due to the fact it is a small town in northern Nevada, our thrift pickings are very limited. So any DIYs would be wonderful to know! My mom told me that she loves "romantic/ cozy Country".. the pictures she showed me were warm-lighted lodges and cabins with deep colored wood furniture, some had cedar log pieces. Lots of leather, plaid, fleece, fur and cable-knit pillows and throws in cream, tan, Marsala/deep red, brown and sage. The accessories were shabby wood signs and metal stars and arrows, old rusted lanterns, metal buckets... just lots of neat old/rustic/ primative pieces. You figure out here in the ol' west, we have tons of that kind of old country stuff everywhere, but we don't. Lol. Some boutiques and antique shops do, but they want a pretty penny for them. Lol. But yeah, even if you can't do a video of a budget "Romantic, Rustic Country Cabin" any DIY or advice would always be greatly appreciated ❤️ Anyways, love this room! Great job as usual ❤️
thefallen_princess wow i read this and thought i was reading my story... i went thru the same with my mom, ill be 26 in December. thinking of you and your family 🖤
use men's flannel shirts and DIY some pillows or make a throw out of them. Someone you know has a sewing machine and would help you. Watch the sales at the hardware store for buckets, etc. Slowly piece it together bit by bit. You had a story, I could see clearly. That makes your decorating much easier. Best wishes to you both.
I think this under budget is so great and so inspiring to others because you don't need that much money to make your room good. And I love how they are doing this for people.
This inspired me so much for my first ever apartment that im getting in September. I love the ideas and the budgeting options as in thrift shops, turning old items into something new & making DIYS. Thank you so much Mr.Kate & Joey.
My idea would be: First: A 30 $ make over needs time to find cheap/free things. Then: choose a simple colour pallette. Mine is white, grey and wood. Buy Bedding that you like, from a clearance section. Buy some colour for the wall. Look for furniture that people give away (in Germany, we have a special eBay for people to people selling an gifting, I don't know how it's called in English :D) Then look for some wall decoration. I asked in a wallpaper shop for their samples (they're quite big) and they called me, when the collection changed. Maybe a beautiful poster of a band you like.. Lastly I would buy some cheap pots and some soil. Then ask friends for pieces of their indoor plants. It takes time to grow them, but it's very cheap. Have fun :)
There is, you can refurbish all you current furniture with paint. I just did that for my living room and it's coming out unbelievably amazing. I'm making a video of it soon if you want to check it out and get some inspiration from it. :)
Danica Younghusband lol I know, I wish we had massive furniture charity shops or something ours are normally crap..... I suppose you could look online tho... Still not the same I know
Go to charity shops every single time you pass them, with no expectations and some money in your pocket. I found a gorgeous glass and brass metal coffee table from British Hear Foundation. After styling it right I'm fairly sure I could sell it on Facebook for at least £80, I paid £35 which isn't super cheap but well under the value of this particular item. But yeah agreed you couldn't find all these things here at least for not that price and certainly not all at once. Well maybe if you're in TK Maxx, charity shops no way lol
I have like 5 bucks to use, so... I guess I'll move the furniture around in my room so I can actually walk to the bathroom without running into my dresser. #smallroomlife
I really like their energy they're fun and humble ...thank you for showing this for people on Budgets & I loveee Thrift stores, you would never believe the nice things I have found for so cheap. I'm a single mom of an 11 year old boy so I am on a budget myself … I wish they did a video for a boy's room a boy who likes Basketball :) Blessings to you and may your brand keep growing!
That was really awesome, you have an eye for style and putting things together and Joey is such a big part as well. He knows how to do everything! Great makeover for the money!
Today I was crying nonstop, basically having a mental break down, I watched your video and I feel so much better, your like a therapist but 100x cheaper! I LOVE YOU❤️
Talented singer, talented artist, talented designer, great shopper married to a talented drummer, builder. GREAT combination. The room is now a fit place for a grown woman. LOVE how the lamp looks on the black side table. Even the chair fits perfectly in that corner. Love how the floral artwork came out and the Paris print. The furniture looks like new and the curtains finish off the room nicely!
I loved the end result but all those repeated comments about the budget sounded very condescending. Not everyone can afford a few thousand dollars to decorate one room and I don't think that's something you need to be so judgmental about.
I think she makes emphasis because some people complain that they don’t have enough money to decorate their rooms and this video shows how that’s not true🤷🏻♀️
Im not trying to be mean but realisticly what money are you working with, allowance? Because they have there own show wbere they get money from. So maybe its not that much to them
F I O N A she's done that search up bedroom on a budget and then there's one where the picture has a bed with coral bed sheets on and that's inspired and is supposed to be a teen bedroom :)
You should have your own TV show and trust me my grandma and me will watch all of your episodes and and this gave me so many ideas for my room when I move I would do it now but cant cause renting the house but when I do I will make my new room into a dream come true
Since I live in TX and Mr. Kate and Joey dont, this gave me so many good ideas for my room makeover. I want a more mature/clean/simple/cute room. Thank you Mr Kate and Joey!! Hope baby is doing good!!
To makeover a room, i honestly see that as barely scratching the surface. Especially since most people spend all or a 4th of their day in the room. Wouldn't want to cheap out. Also don't want too overspend either. I would personally have a budget of $700-1100
I am searching for a room under 500 pounds, and, you read me in the minds!!i will have finally my OWN room, which is extraordinary for me, so i can already have my ideas!!! 😍
A device allows you to 1. Make calls 2. Have a GPS 3. Find news on the go 4. Watch tutorials 5. Etc. On the go On my opinion, it is worth toe money for a phone to have all of those benefits and more
