Hey guy luvvvvv yurrrrrr channel got a lot of those knives on it!!!! Can’t wait to see your knew vids every week( wife hates it heehee). Dont ever stop I say infinity flip knives peace out .
Tip: Testing ball bearings with magnets will cause them to become magnetized. This causes loose iron/steel whiskers from the environment to cling, greatly accelerating wear and impeding smooth rolling. If the bearings are metal, you can be 99% sure they’re steel so no need to test.
I like everything about it EXCEPT for the weird way they did the hole in the blade which makes it look kinda unfinished ! If I were to buy 1 I would HAVE to take my Dremel to it and grind out the duck head looking hole to fit the outline !
I bought the PF919 "Fancy" and somehow ended up with THREE of them. These PF knives are super High Quality for the price. Definitely gonna put this one on the wish list lol
Loving the budget blades from these guys maybe the wife will let me get one in the new year with Christmas behind us now. I had sausage patties and waffles with coffee of course for breakfast lol MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
I like Petrified Fish, the Beluga was and is an amazing knife and remains my favorite PF. The best Petrified Fish has come out with to date. And one I hold in high regard. This however is very interesting. You keep finding these gems and thanks for sharing them with us. I think I will have to get my hands on one of these. Is it me or is the budget knife market exploding with quality knives? I like the design of this but PF remains stuck on D2 (and K110, which is D2) if they want to keep up with manufacturers like Kizer they are going to have to up their game and start using more varied materials like Kizer does. So far no one can touch Kizer for quality, design, material (Kizer micarta can not be touched) and popularity.
I'm glad it's the budget market that's exploding, and not the expensive one hahaha. Kizer is leading the pack for sure. Agreed on the materials! Thank you for your insight TopDog8762!!!
Man I bought mine two days after it came out they had a $7 off coupon so for $27 it was a steal I got mine about ten days ago in green micarta and this is some of their better micarta for sure and it's only like a 1/2" smaller than the beluga and I love the blade shape and the overall solid and the build qualityis sweet it just feels good in the hand! I also saw today they released a new titanium knife that's in 154cm and they have a $15 coupon for that one it looks rather sweet it also has a copper version of this new one. I'm Expecting good things from them in the future! P.S. as far as I know The Bunta is Not a Nashorn Design as you mentioned he only did the beluga.....
Those coupons are awesome! Oohhh, a copper version! PF is definitely making a name for themselves in the budget world. Thank you for the heads up on the Nashorn goof-up. I with the designer was always listed and I didn't have to do so much research to find out who designed a knife, or if it was in-house. Thank you J!
Thanks for the video Beez. I had been looking at this model. I love that blade shape. Your right, that back spacer really doesn't match does it. I think petrified fish is one of the best budget knives out there. You should check out the pf949xc in carbon fiber. I got it and it's one of my favorite knives now. It's a smaller version of the pf949. I got it on white mountain knives. Thanks again for the discount codes. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs.Beez. Have a happy new year.🙂🔪. How can I have smore if I haven't had any yet. Where's that from?
I have a few of those Chinese knifes and personally I am very happy with the quality of them but I feel they're all coming from same manufacturer. Still all beautiful blades and well worth the money.
Wow, another great looking knife from PF! I have a Beluga in transit now and I can't wait to get it in hand. Merry Christmas Beez and to all the Bladers out there! 🎅🗡🎄
Nice looking blade with good amount sharpened edge pf is on my get one eventually haven't seen one not worth the money yet hope your Christmas going good so far
Great review and excellent channel content. Your video helped me with my decision to order the Bunta 868. Amazon denied the Beezblades discount code... but for me, that is a none issue at this point. The stock at Amazon is getting limited so I pulled the trigger with no regrets. Thanks again for all your hard work and for exhibiting honest content. Cheers from Texas.
Just found your channel and gotta say I really like your content. I'm a little bit of a knife nerd I guess, but have never strayed much past the name brands. Spyderco, Kershaw,CRKT, ect. Love seeing the different knives you review and would really like to have this knife in my pocket. Unfortunately it is shown out of stock. Looks like a awesome blade. I'll keep on watching, thanks. Oh, I did sub and hit the like button for ya.
I need some that kpl I have that deep in my soul feeling it take my knifes I already like action on to whole new level cuz if they work way they do now with crud I put in there they gonna be butter wit that KPL lol great disassemble an reassemble
You do a lot of knives disassembly, one thing you don't show on knives with ball bearings is the part of the blade and the steel frame of the handle how thick the metals are. They usually have cut outs to fit the ball bearings in and that part can be very thin and become a weak spot of the knife. I hope you can show that part. So far, I watch a lot of your videos and you thumbs are ALWAYS covering the hole on the blade. Make sure you turn the blade and the frame SLOWLY so people can see how thick that part is. Thanks.
Very solid work knife, but then with great materials. Bladeshape is very nice and it can withstand some pretty heavy use. It makes a great combo with the Baluga. Thank you for the review BB.
I don't use the clip, interferes with access to pocket change. The coins sometimes get stuck in the empty space in the blade pocket. Would like to see the spacer extended towards the pivot. I know, move change/knife to other pocket.
Update: The pocket clip is now reversible on the current model PF868. I noticed the new holes in the scale on Amazon, but could find no mention of the clip being reversible. So, I contacted PF, and they confirmed they are indeed reversible now. As petty as a reversible clip may seem, it makes a HUGE difference for us lefties. LOL I feel kinda bad for the right handed folk, cause now they've got two holes drilled in their knife that don't need to be there, all done for a small fraction of the population that will benefit from the feature! lol
Oh, sweet! Thank you for letting me know. The thing is, I am disappointed when they don't have a reversible clip. I carry a knife in both front pockets, and use a knife with both hands. It's not safe to carry a knife with the blade pointed in, so I am limited in what I can carry in my left pocket as well. I'll always keep pushing for left-hand carry.
I always put a link to the knife in the video, down in the detailed description. There are also discount codes to different retailers, and knives/gear. Here is my affiliate link to the black one on amazon - amzn.to/3td25Os Here is a link to Petrified Fish. I have not purchased from their site myself. www.pfedc.com/
They probably upgraded the model after I made that video. I just looked at mine, and it does not have the cutout for the clip in the back, or the screw holes in the scales.
That is correct! The vast majority of the knives made on planet earth have Chinese-made steel. Thank goodness they make their steel up to specs in the modern era. (They have fought a long battle of the old stigma of "bad" steel) Feel free to visit Luv Them Knives and enjoy the pages upon pages of Steel testing that he had performed on Chinese knives. You will be surprised.
@@BeezBlades The vast majority of budget knives come from China, that's true. However there is a clear difference in quality of D2 from these " budget " makers. D2 covers a fairly broad range and is not a specified formula. China uses a cr12mov with almost no vanadium. Thus the difference in price. There is an undeniable difference in ASI standard produced D2 same with European standard which is nearly identical to the US accepted standard. Same with D2 from Hitachi in Japan. They fight an up hill battle bc they have earned it. The carbide formation in the cr12mov is not on the same level as a formula with over 1% vanadium. This is accepted science in metallurgy. That China turns a blind eye to counterfeiting knives ( along with billions in intellectual property theft) is disgraceful. There are however many good and reputable makers in China like WE. But for every quality blade produced, there are a hundred sub par or flat out fake.
This is jeremiah Owens I would like to have that pocket knife if you want to give it to me or if you given a way on Friday I would like to have it thank you
I wouldn't have hearted this. I'm being extremely sarcastic. I won't even buy we/civivi knives because China is a giant pile of shit. When a missile come rocketing towards us all at 25k mph you'll be glad you gave them all that money/publicity.
Hey Beez I’m trying to choose my first PF and it’s between this one and the of-979 raptor. I’m interested in your opinion on which one you choose from the two.
That's a tough one! I like the looks of both blades. The raptor has a bigger thumb hole, so it may be easier to deploy. I only had it for a short time so it's hard to remember.
@@BeezBlades hey Beez so I went with the Bunta in green for my first PF Knife and I’m loving it. Thanks for the great content brother. See you live in the hive on Friday
