Always wanted a pair. I first saw them at T-Pains home studio years ago. I thought they were beautiful and sounded amazing. I just never pulled the trigger on them. Back n the day they were pricey. Nice to see they are more than affordable today. These are classics just like all of the speakers we grown to love over the years. Thanks for the great review Bolo. 🙏🏿
I used to have a set of large mastering grade JBL’s soffited into the wall in my old studio’s mastering suite. (They looked kinda like a set of PA speakers) They make great stuff! I demo’ed those particular ones when I was looking for a secondary set for my current control room and liked them a lot. I ended up with a set of Kali’s only because they sounded better in my Control Room. (Slightly more clarity in the midrange once I put them in my room. Almost identical when I heard them both in the showroom floor)
I had to come back to this post to say you weren't lying about this speakers. Had the JBL 10 sub already. Been running them with the my Adam a7x's. I pick these JBL monitors the other day and bro I'm can't turn them off. I love my a7x's but the JBL 308 tings with the sub was all I needed. I'm hearing new lows when listening to familiar songs. 'Preciate you!
I have the size below and they really are very accurate. Was suprised. Never been able to trust a mix direct from the monitors. Imaging and balance are wild. Gonna have to look into the sub now
Tried a lot of monitors personally, JBL, KRK, Adam, M-Audio(*shudder*), home built and nothing comes remotely close to when I bit the bullet and got some Genelec 8030c plus the sub. I can hear things I never heard in mixes at all, now clear as a bell. Imaging, balance, accuracy is unbelievable on these things. Really can't even explain how good they are. Just make sure you got some room treatment going before you upgrade ANY monitors. My JBLs make good computer speakers though, lol!
I'll stick with my BAREFOOT Footprint 02 monitors. I had the smaller ones but donated them to my nephew. It's a good choice for folks just starting out. I currently use two of their down firing subs. I sent my third one with the mentioned JBLs to my nephew also.
I've had the JBL 3 series (mk 2 I believe) for nearly 10 years now. Mine don't have the shiny tweeters like yours, but dammit, that sound is superb!!! For the price, I don't think anything else can beat them. The Yamaha HS8s would be my next choice but they're nearly $150 more per speaker 🥶
I have these (along with 5 other pairs of monitors, some better some not). Sweet soundstage. Great bass. WELL worth the price. Get the vids up, brudda!!!
I have the 305 MKII's in my little studio, and even they sound amazing. So many people go for KRK, Rokits, and IMO they aren't even close to JBL. I am thinking of upgrading, and was going to look at the 306's, but now maybe the 308's.......thank you for the review :)
I would have considered them, if i didn't already have the HS8's, Plus the HS8'S play lower, that's good for producing songs with low 808's or sub bass lines. 3:05 that's called the wave guide, lol
Have The 8" As Well As The RED 5" 3 Series Plus 2 Of The SUBS, Because The 2.1 Setup Also Works GREAT For Dj-ing... I've Done Weddings And House Parties With Ease...5 YEARS And Counting With Absolutely NO ISSUES.
I just replaced the 5 inch version of these after a month of use, not transparent enough and exaggerate the lows to much for my taste. They do sound good when just playing music through them almost like house speakers, but I couldn't make mix decisions based off them.
My M-Audio AV40s still kicking after nearly 10 years of heavy usage, ive only had to replace the aux cord a few times of course. When they finally crap out ill probably look for these used as ive never been dissapointed in any JBL speakers ive heard so far
JBL 305's, Kali Lp-6, adam audio t5v's. Bruh, when you talking about great speakers for the budget, these are king. 4 years later and my jbl 305's still knocking
I got the 305s and I was fuming when i upgraded to the Adam T7s - Personally not a fan of "budget" solutions anymore. Same issue with headphones like D990 and ATH50s - upgraded to HIFI Man and I was blown away
I've had 4 pairs of these speakers 2 5's, 6's & the 8's they blow everything else near that price range out of the water, we've had almost every pair of monitors in my studio I think they are way better than the Yamaha's, the only speaker I can honestly say sounds better are the adams which my friend runs running in the b room and thats just because the hi freq driver on those
Make shure you tell your viewers they need to have credit cause they don’t give just anyone a line of credit to play now pay later cause I had to buy stuff in few befor I could get that pay later no one is approved off the top
@@BoloDaProducer yah I got to the point just buying it out right cause 9 times out of ten there was no monthly payments on it and they wouldn’t take my debit card had to be a bank
