has anybody considered that the D was maybe told not to play body too hard so as not to hurt all of the blue chip recruits that serious D1 programs have invested so much in? Perhaps they arnt bad but were just hesitant to put kids on their asses.
i think the defense mightve been told to go a bit easy because somewhere between 6:00 and 6:15 there was a defenseman jogging after his attackman. they probably didnt want any guys hurt too bad in here
I've played box and field against Zach Miller and Zed Williams, kids are truly nasty. Shut Zed down in a championship game and he kicked me in the head. Raw though, never stood a chance.
Go to 6:01, watch that play, then look at the score and time left in the game. I think you'll have your answer about goalie and D highlights. There were none.
Since I've started playing box much more, I find that field is still fun, but it's too easy to score. Bad bounces and the strength of shots nowadays makes it a nightmare to play defense or goalie. You actually have to work for your goals, which makes the game much more satisfying.

The goalies can only get better by playing against offensive players who are better, whereas the rest of the team can get better by honing their talents on their own or by shitting on other players who aren't as good. Therefor the offensive players have had a better chance to improve their playing abilities then the goalies so the saves won't be as high. I guarantee any high school goalie would be pissed if they played against a line of offense who is better than anybody else they played.
That wasn't the whole game and besides they're playing against the best kids in the country so of course they're going to look mediocre or bad. Like in pro sports, a player might be bad there but they are still pretty nasty at whatever to even get there. The defense gave up some gimmes as well hah
