Oh man did I connect with Cody. When I Was in high school I was a projectionist at Regal Cinemas. Best job I ever had. Mid 90s and in high school so not great pay but it was great for me to have fun on the weekend. I loved splicing the film and getting the cans for new films. Being up there alone was great could listen ti music do what I want. Got to see all the movies I wanted to. We would do midnight movies for the employees before midnight releases were a thing. Most everyone who worked there went to my school too so it was a bunch of friends hanging out. Best time best job.

@@AlwaysBolttheBird perfect. Im just about the same. back in the early 90s I cooked for Pizza Hut in a small college town. almost everyone working there was in college. The job itself wasn't "epic" but we were all in it together and we had a blast! The markups on popcorn and soft drinks are absolutely crazy relative to what they actually cost. They all cost literal pennies per serving. Having worked in the food service industry for so long, soda fountains are basically money fountains. Popcorn and french fries are both dirt cheap to produce as well. I understand making money but some of those prices border on usury LOL

That kid's birthday party deal is a rip-off. One pizza for almost a dozen kids and a movie on a standard flatscreen? A parent could do that at home with better equipment and be able to provide enough food. I'd be embarrassed to work there. I also do not understand the traffic assistant "promotion". No matter their stature are, they are a fist hands when it comes to earnings specifically those rich Indians. The more they are wealthy, the more they are tight. They shared but not much. They can even count the rice on their plates. A small popcorn is about $4.00. I always get a combo for about $12 - Large popcorn, large drink and a bag of candy. How do I know? Because Cineplex is my preferred choice for movies. Frozen Actor, Yep, it’s very overpriced! It’s my understanding that theatres make very little money on actual ticket sales, so the cost of concessions have to make up the difference. There is very little actual cost to popcorn and pop, so it’s a massive profit margin.

My thoughts, exactly. However, it would not have helped with the resetting problems caused by the short drop in power. I said this before but I’ll say it again, the employees in this show need to chill with the whole ragging on people because their too slow, everyone on the first day is obviously gonna be slow, it takes a bit to get your bearings, once you learn how to do everything than the speed comes. Remember everyone was new once & just because you’re no longer new it doesn’t mean you can rag on people because they are, everyone has been slow at their job at one point, it’s unfair to compare people on their first day to people who’ve worked there for a long time, speed comes in time, once you know the trade the speed will come with it, but speed doesn’t help anything if you don’t know what you’re doing & how to do it right so just learn the job at hand & remember that the more you do things the faster you’ll get, no one is a perfect employee on their first day.

You people don't get it. Canadian episodes were filmed before American episodes . This was before youtube was huge and only made to be seen in Canada. Canada does not have a culture of giving large sums of money on TV. The producers of the show decided on the American episodes to give larger prizes because thats what Americans are accustomed to seeing. And if you think these "gifts" have anything to so with generosity you can't be so niave. Its the producers and the amount they give away is all figured out at the beginning of filming when they sign there contracts.

She trains him to mop but wrong. You scrub the floor like he was doing with the mop head wet then wring it out, then with the mop head dried you "MOP" up the cleaning liquid. Simple... She was training him to smear shit, not clean it up.

30:08 It's too bad that the theater doesn't have an Emergency Generator? If it did this problem wouldn't have happened. It would be as simple as getting on a differently powered PA system and letting people know that the power will be back on and staff will be to each theater to answer any questions. 33:20 It should ALWAYS be Wider not only on Thursday's! There are PWD People With Disabilities and people who use Mobility Aids like Walkers, Wheelchairs, Mobility Scooters etc. If I was the CEO I'd be PISSED! I would of got her a cart to transport the items to the party rooms and put a system in that the person has to who is having the party would have to give you a headcount and when the party goers arrive you would have to have a second headcount so you could make shore the proper amount of pizza to the type of order is made on time and the party goers are satisfied. I like how you are willing to make the new changes in newer theaters to bring the party room closer to the food.

It's always disappointing seeing some of these CEO's. Some of them seem to be really nice and legitmately caring, and others seem to play favorites with some of the employees and or just cheap. Isn't fair to the employees who basically make them their money

I like the Canadian series. More homely. "I'm the CEO of the company" "Oh my goodness!" "Denise, I was touched by your story of the medical expenses for your mother's slight cough. I've decided to give you $10 to cover the prescription cost" "I... I... can't believe it!" "Not only that. you mentioned your young son lost his ice- hockey puck? I can't believe that in any civilised country a boy only has 1 hockey puck! I will personally give you this new hockey puck and a $20 bill to be put aside in a trust fund to be used to purchase new hockey pucks at any time until your son is 18!" "This is the most wonderful moment in my life...and my son's!" (Brings out box of tissues)

Compared to the US version the "rewards" given in the Canadian version are pretty pathetic. But then it also seems the US version has a lot of truly down-on-their-luck workers who strive to be great employees even while dealing with serious issues.

Interesting to watch this episode as I worked at a cinema in the UK for 5 years and did all of the jobs shown here. What a cheapskate this guy is though. All the other episodes see thousands given away, these get prizes that would mostly be valued at a few hundred dollars. It must be an industry thing as the big bosses at my cinema chain were total cheapskates too.
