@@dx5gaming715 well the thing is JRPG's are nowhere near as popular as games like Mario so it's completely fair to say that they don't know who Sephiroth is. For example, fire emblem 3 houses is one of the biggest RPG's on the switch, and sold 3 million copies worldwide, but Mario Odyssey has sold over 20 million copies.
This was definitely something that they need to rewatch in their own time. With Underdog reactions in General, it rarely seems like they pay attention to the screen, the exact same issue presented itself with their MinMin reaction.

@@dx5gaming715 But he isn’t though, the sales for the whole Mario franchise far exceeds those of just FF7, and other remakes for it. Because of that more people are going to recognize Bowser, a villain who showed up in nearly every game Mario, then they would Sephiroth, a villain who only shows up when Cloud is there. Because of that Bowser is definitely a bigger villain than Sephiroth.

According to poppy’s video, after they recorded this, they tried out the sephiroth challenge and when they realized you actually unlock him from it, Jordan rushed home to unlock sephiroth on his switch but forgot his controller at their house so he had to go all the way back
I feel like lots of details were missed in this, also lots of negative comments towards Sakurai during the parts he seemed adament about. Like the lore and boss rush, parts that I thought were really cool, even though i didnt know the lore, and have never played ff. Not trying to make a point, just wanted to share.

The Underdogs crew (Zack specifically, but we can assume its the same for all of them) has admitted they don't play many games besides Smash, and they don't know many video game characters besides the big ones.

@@dubiouslittlecreature908 they do like him though. They’ve played him in other videos and think he’s hype. He is different from other sword characters and has a lot more to offer than just big hitboxes.

Man, i love your Smash Content, but i would be so happy if you could just watch carefully at the presentation and actually get what the character is about instead of just making fun of Sakurai all the time. It's really annoying to watch you make assumptions of something he just explained in detail, because you didn't pay attention...
