UnderMine is a roguelike game with an amazing loop! You play a peasant that has to dive into the gold mine to defeat multiple bosses and find powerful relics. UnderMine is one of those roguelike games that take some playing to purchase permanent upgrades. It's a style I'm a huge fan of! This game has everything to make it awesome and I love playing it.

I really want a game like this with online multiplayer, I enjoy playing binding of Isaac and enter the gungeon... but i also love being able to play a game like this with friends(online) not LAN... for example risk of rain 2 is amazing and fun with friends. But don’t get me wrong even single player these games are amazing

Really difficult choice! I don't think comparing them is fair since they're trying to accomplish different things. But I would choose Undermine. It's the type of game a like a little bit more.

i enjoy the binding of isaac . have it on my ps vita , ps4 and pc. i put it so many hours in to it. i like other games like it but nothing comes close to it

I bought it and have played it for a few hours but it just doesn't feel like a patch on Hades. Feels like Binding of Isaac with better art, a few changes and permanent upgrades. When I get totally bored of Hades I will probably come back to this but for now it's not really doing it for me.

@@peppage Cool. UnderMine does seem like it's probably really good though. I think it's probably just the similarity to Isaac vs how different Hades feels from all other roguelikes and how slick the combat is. If you haven't played Hades yet, it feels a lot like Bastion (same developer) but if Bastion were a well designed roguelike. It does some very clever things with the way it develops it's world and characters across multiple playthroughs. I think I have 48 attempts so far and I'm still seeing new interactions between Zagreus (the protagonist) and the other characters in the game.

Those crazy "synergies" you mention sound really tame and unspectacular compared to other roguelikes like The Binding Of isaac. I am thinking about buying the game but all gameplay I have seen so far looks a bit boring... is it because everyone just shows early levels to not spoil anything?

Tough to compare, both are great! Hades has a lot "more". Voice acting, characters, artwork, powers, etc. I say play both but if you had to choose one to play first then go with Hades.

"my favorite rogue-like" takes the next 8 minutes explaining how it's not a rogue-like. Get your terms together people; does it have permanent upgrades? Yes? Not a rogue-like. Does it have turn-based combat? No? Not a rogue-like. We call them rogue-lite, and the difference is very very important for new buyers

@@peppage Great to see you are on top of your comment section even though this is an older video. I respect that. Maybe it's just me, could be, but I don't like developers branding their games wrong, or at least slapping an incorrect label on 'm. It's like being at a blues music concert and the guy next to you says: what a beautiful piece of jazz music. I might be too "passionate" about this thing, and hell, I bought the game because of your review, but I hope this common error will be corrected one day.
