I just received my IFOOTAGE cobra 2 aluminum monopod yesterday and I used it for two hours straight filming my niece’s dance recital. For it being made out of aluminum there is no play whatsoever and it is so solid. It’s definitely the best monopod I have tried.

If you're looking into the Godox consider getting the 150W version. For only about $100 more it's over two stops brighter than the 60 and a stop brighter than the Apurture 120D

I have 2 of the 200W version and they are awesome. I use them for flatwork reproduction and continuous lighting for studio still photography. I’ve always thought the Apurture is way overrated given that I have twice the power for like a third of the price. Definitely recommend, and you can run more than one off of the same remote which is badass. My set has worked flawlessly for over a year, some days running for over 6 hours continuously since I also use it as a working light while framing/matting photos

I haven't seen the more powerful Godox lights, but the comments online say that they are too loud for video and they flicker at high frame rate. I'd love to see an objective review/test.

Just don't forget to mind those quality control issues on the Godox. Many of them seem to be coming with LED issues that cause flickering at higher framerates. If folks buy one, take it out of the box, set up your camera to shoot at a variety of framerates and make sure you're not getting flicker. If you are, it's a bad unit and you can have it replaced. I'd also say, with QC issues like this cropping up right out of the box, my money isn't on Godox in the long term. But geez, at that price, you could buy three of them in the time it took you to wear out one Aputure.

Recently grabbed the iFootage C180 and fluid head myself. Great monopod! I did a full day run and gun shoot with a completely rigged out Sony a7iii. Handled it like a champ! Love the video.

I use my Footage Cobra 2 C180 II with my Zhiyun Weebill S and Crane 3 Lab Gimbals, rather than the manual stabaliser, which is being promoted on RU-vid at this time ( May / June 2020). You can achieve far more freedom of movement and achieve equally, those cinematic smooth, rock steady shots, without supporting the additional heavy weight of a stabaliser or a full vest steadi-cam system - which I have tried...

I have owned the iFootage C120 carbon fiber mono pod for sometime now. I agree that it is a great piece of kit. However I do wish the feet went wider. I had the unfortunate mishap of being at a convention where my gimbal and camera that were attached to the monopod rig wound up toppling over and damaged the gimbal at the top of the rig (the gimbal sacrificed itself to allow my Sony DSCRX1RM2 and my RODE Stereo Videomic X to survive :). The feet of the iFootage monopod work fine when you are tending to your gear, but you still need to be careful. As a matter of fact, when I went to the same convention the following year, I rigged up ahead of time a small but extremely well built tripod which I attached to the screw tap underneath the C120 (After unscrewing the plastic tap-cover). This allowed me to incorporate the very wide feet of the smaller tripod into the C120 which increased the overall stability dramatically and added even more height. It may have looked a little weird, but I still got to take advantage of the solid build, extension, the strength, and that really neat quick release system of the C120. If iFootage Ever came out with another mono pod but with much wider feet I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Raymond Senn the thing is that it shouldn't be used as a tripod to leave your gear unattended. Making the feet bigger adds more weight and material. But I do get what you're saying, I just feel that if it's more secure and steady (which it already is) people will trust in it more and leave gear unattended and more accidents will happen. I've heard so many stories of people leaving cameras on a Monopod and something happening, wind, someone knocking it over, etc.

Manfrotto was the first Monopod I bought and it was a POS, broke in less than 3 months.

I have the Monopod, looking to use with my C100 mk ii. Wondering which video head will work well. Will the cheaper Manfrotto 500 heads hold up? Looking to have one on a tripod, monopod, and slider. 502 head too heavy, I am open to the arca swiss system. Any suggestions? Not necessarily interested in the ifootage head. Thanks Armando

amritGAMINGYT I use it with my C200 all the time. It doesn't have drag control but it's very smooth. It uses the universal Manfrotto 501 plate.
