Never used medipeel but always see it in Olive Young videos, their products often ranking high. Euniunni raves about their lacto collagen clear 2.0 cleanser
@@fatimamh8697 she makes it very clear when something is sponsored or not. The medipeel cleanser was a personal hit for her, she included it in her top skincare finds of 2023
What I do with sunscreen is simply use a makeup cushion 🤷🏻♀️ I always keep one in my bag for sunscreen. I squeeze the product directly on the cushion then transfer it to my face. I do it as many times as it takes to get the amount I need (you get the hang of it once you can quantify by eye) then properly apply it all over with the same cushion. I use the kind that doesn't absorb much product. And that way I don't need to change a product that works perfectly for me.
I was imagining this as you were transferring sunscreen into an empty cushion container. Was about to tell you that might jeopardize the sunscreen buuut I figured out what you’re saying lol (long day 😅) So a separate cushion with a standard sunscreen. That is a good idea!!
I absolutely understand what you mean about tradeoffs. I'm a lip product junkie, and I've tried far more than any person should, but I had never encountered an overnight lip treatment that actually would still be there in the morning. Until about a month ago, when I tried the Etude Ginger Sugar lip mask. The experience of using it isn't... pleasant. It's very thick and sticky, but it actually lasts the whole night. It has a pleasant ginger/citrus scent that's very light (I almost never actually notice it unless I stick my nose in the jar). I wouldn't recommend it for use during the daytime because it is so uncomfortable, but it's remarkable for use overnight. It also has a satin finish, if you're someone who feels self-conscious using glossy lip products.
Ah, I love you. I have been complaining for the past two years about finding an spf that isn't gross to reapply (I work outside)! That rec is so extremely helpful.
It’s a struggle!! I feel like sticks are OK but I don’t really trust them to cover my face (or cover enough) for direct, long exposure to the sun. This is so much better!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole no It's the Aqua essence toner intensive skin care with 9 peptides to enhance elasticity wish I could take a pic . It's a frosted clear bottle has a pump yay and black writing.
I think I’m gonna try that RNW serum ! Our skin types are very similar and I feel like every products I’ve gotten from your reviews have been amazing ! Side note: could you eventually review The Ordinarys new saccharomyces MILKY toner ??? I’m thinking about trying that as well !
The weather keeps changing here. I believe that is the reason my skin is freaking out. I have had some very random breakouts. Haven't changing anything. ❌️⭕️
One of my favs in K-Beauty is the Face Republic Purity sun essence, and J-Beauty has a lot of options but they tend to reformulate often. I placed a big order for the new ones so needless to say, will share those soon! 😁
So I finally got to use the Lion Pair cream (pairs great with brownies) and I'm very impressed. I had a super inflamed painful pimple and it was noticeably reduced within an hour. Also I didn't end up with any new PIH. The fragrance didn't irritate my skin. And I found it to be a pretty light fragrance which didn't give me a headache or make me nauseous. I have a feeling it's going to be a product I'll always want on hand. Oh also it worked really well on an inflamed ingrown hair on my leg.
hi alice, i was doing some internet deep diving for my trip planning to japan & OMG there r so many dupes for lion pair cream in japanese pharmacy eg, aposty, ihada, acneige, acnes. they're seriously so underrated & a bunch of them don't contain fragrance! also, they have a bunch of cool skincare with heparinoids like what??? i always thought hirudoid was for bruises only skdhdhdjjd. thank god for google translate, papago and payke - they really did the heavy lifting for me as a non-japanese speaker 🙏🏼😍
Definitely going to try that hair mask! Im using the Tsubaki hair mask at the moment and its similar to the Fino, but suits my fine, damaged hair more so xx
@AliceintheRabbitHole its fabulous! And I am currently in the process of reversing damage to my previously bleached hair that's crying out for tlc! Ps. I love that you take the time to interact and read comments. Love reading your replies! Also, have you tried K18??
I liked K18 but phew, I just cannot keep up with it for how expensive it is 😭 I switched to living proof’s repairing cream and honestly? It’s on par. And lasts a LOT longer!
I was curious about the neck cream and when I went to the Amazon link, I didn't expect the advertised stringy-ness of it! I'm curious but not in need of a neck cream anytime soon lololol
Medi Peel has some great products from their Lacto Collagen line. Just not cleansing foam and oil, they are not that great. and their eye patches are my favorite
Though I like the underrated products, I like the viral products too! I finally tried the laneige cream skin toner and I was kicking myself for not trying it sooner, I love it so much! I know ginseng research is huge right now and you did a bunch of videos on them but do you think you would be able to do a video on your favorite ginseng products?
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I think the new formula is a bit lighter but I couldn't really tell the difference! I guess since I try a bunch of different toners when I return to it I don't remember the original that well, haha!
Hi Alice. I enjoy the Medipeel collagen peptides bubble essence... 😂 Just need a lesser skincare product without going through the whole routine when I feel lazy... And you know how much I need Lion pair and t-terpinoel serum when acne breakout comes along... 😊
I’m using Medipeel’s Vegan Retinol Collagen line (toner + ampoule) and it’s a divine combo; it has a slight fragrance, but that’s forgivable given how subtle and resultative it delivers 💫
@@AliceintheRabbitHole scents in eye products, if targeted for eyes only, is head scratching; though I’m using eye creams for entire face sporadically, so I don’t have anything against it as long as they don’t make things worse; also, I’m eyeing CellTox line from MediPeel, after Vegan Collagen Lifting one, thought you might be checking that as well, heard it’s really good 🙂↔️
Ive never heard of that hair mask. in terms of asian hair care I have just a few Japanese ones like Tsubaki and Shiseido, but thats it really and nothing korean. I wonder what Asian haircare is like compared to western ones like olaplex, purology etcc.. and if it would it work for western hair. I cant wait to see your hair care haul. I loved the fino mask and also the oil, the Tsubaki mask was also nice.
It leans a bit heavier overall, which I think makes sense: it seems Asian hair is generally thicker and can take the added moisture better than my fine hair type. I do feel the repairing products don’t address bleach damage as much as styling tool/environmental damage. Which also makes sense. Overall, it’s meeting my needs but I do need to bring in a repairing product and purple shampoo (all of which is my own fault as I can’t seem to put down the bleach lol)
Hello Alice, first I want to thank you for always answering my questions. And I think that k-beauty is underrated, because people who just know this whole world buy what they have seen on tiktok, like the essence of Cosrx or x product, but they don't know what the benefit of that product is and there are other people who They just want to have glass skin and have no goal in their routine. Besides, I have tried a Medi-Peel product and it is called Peptide 9 Volume BIO TOX, but I didn't like it just because I didn't see any benefits, but it is a fairly well-known brand in Korea and I think in other parts of the world, because when I searched I found a lot of people in reviews but not from this side of the continent. A big hug Alice from Chile and I hope you are well 🥰
Yep haha, I checked Hwahae and found a bunch of reviews! It really is so funny how the K-Beauty brands that are trending online are usually not the same as in Korea. I actually hear Tirtir is in that grouping too (apparently they’re popular online and in Japan, less so in Korea! 🤯)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Alice, I haven't been able to access the HWAHAE page because it's in Korean and I don't know why my translator doesn't translate it... 🤣🤣🤣 We adore you 🥰
That pestlo sunscreen does look like it would be easier to get the right amount rather than using multiple swipes of a stick. That is until you lost the applicator puff.
Hello again! I love so much that you actually respond to people who comment! Thanks so much! So, question today is about quality and efficacy of k-beauty plant growth factors and something like Skin Medica TNS? Is the science there?
It’s another case of having some research (but imo not really enough), and then extrapolating that data even further. So while I think the concept sounds nice, I don’t think we are at a point of ditching, say, retinoids, in exchange for GF. As a complement? Might be a good idea. I stick with more affordable options in the meantime though haha!
i tried the bortox ampoule, it’s a good moisturizing serum i tried the bortox balmy stick and it’s very vaseliney and slippery and it stings the eyes if it gets there, in short it’s a bit annoying and but if you’re on tret or accutane it might be a godsend
Hello Alice. I've just bought lion pair for my 9 year old who is starting to get pimples. She cleanses with a salicylic acid cream wash, then we'll add lion pair. Shes currently using aveeno gel cream to finish, but i have an isntree onion gel cream for her next. Does that sound like a good start? I feel like its gentle enough but will hopefully have an impact 😊 and of course spf every day shes outside 😊
I get what you mean when talking about Medipeel. I have their Peptide 9 Volume Essence and it is odd, good, but odd. It is thick, much thicker than an essence, even thicker than a normal serum or ampoule. When I first tried it, my impression was like "wth, this is more like a moisturizer", but it's not. When applying it, it feels so thick that it reminds me of a moisturizer. But it dries quickly and then it feels more like thick serum. It is very strange. It has a faint scent that reminds me of some kind of hair product. My brain has a hard time handling that I'm using something on my skin that gives me strong impressions of how some hair products smell and also have similar texture to them. Personally, I don't like how this product first feels on my skin and smells, and it's not one of my go-to products eventhou my skin enjoyes it.
Ooh I can see the haircare connection…but I’m going to pretend I can’t 🙈 that might ruin it for me too lol Because yep, it’s that exactly. I really didn’t like the sensation either, and yet I can’t deny that my skin responds extremely well to it!
Hello Alice! 😃 I feel like this list could be very, very long - I know what you mean by Beauty of Joseon being underrated at some point - really? lol. Omgosh! Do you know how many times I stop and start your video - I have to search the product you are talking about to see if I can get it from any of my Canadian Kbeauty suppliers - and the Lion Pair cream is one that I'm not sure if it can be shipped to Canada (I will have to check this out more - came across something when I quickly searched, but I want to get back to watching your video). I really want to get the Lion Pair cream for my daughter ❤, I think this just might help her out. I might try to order it from Stylevana - and just see if it makes it to me. Hair products are something that I don't ever really pay attention to - I usually just buy what is on sale for shampoo/conditioner and I don't really use anything else on my hair (no hair masks or extra stuff). I am exploring more with wigs - so I don't really do a lot with my bio hair - always up in messy bun - no muss, no fuss. As always, enjoy your content - I would be watching your channel no matter what you talk about, but you definitely caught my attention with all of your skincare content. Enjoy the rest of your night! 🌸💮🌸
Also from Canada here, I’ve ordered the Lion Pair cream from Stylevana for my son many times without any issues. Shipping does take longer but always arrives without any customs fees. Their prices are always worth the wait IMO at least.
@@cindyacab7077 That is so good to know - I can't remember what I ordered last time from Stylevana, but I had custom fees of almost 60.00 - so I have been buying my kbeauty skincare from Canadian online suppliers. Thank you for letting me know :)
Yeah I have to admit I’m surprised you paid customs with stylevana. I’ve heard some other folks in Canada say they shop there to avoid duties! Alas, I can only guess as I’m pretty far from Canada 😢 But I do hope you get to try it - phew that’s a gem imo. I just hope they never change it!! I was also always the same with hair products, and tbh, I still think drugstore/affordable does have some good options. Hope you have a great rest of your evening too! 🥰
@@AliceintheRabbitHole OMGOSH! I feel like such a dummy - all along I thought it was Stylevanna that I was charged the duty, but it wasn't! It was Style Korean!!!! omgosh - I'm so embarrassed, but I checked my accounts - I have a Stylevanna, Style Korean, and a Yesstyle account - and apparently I have them all mixed up - OK - my red face is going to order from Stylevanna! Tracey - Stylevanna! lol
Ahh that makes sense. Sadly I’ve heard that stylekorean is not a good option at all for Canadians - duties every time 😭 But yes, try stylevana!! Cindy is quite right that shipping is slow, but imo it’s worth it for the deals 😊
Can anyone recommend a medipeel peptide product for combo skin? It’s accessible where I am and I’d like to try it but Alice’s description “stays on the skin all day” it’s something I want to avoid at all cost)
is that Pestlo sunscreen like a cushion or is it more like a sun stick texture? it was offered in the YesStyle influencer program but did not end up going for that one, looks really good though
Funny enough, it’s really more like a very thick cream? I assume the packaging design is to protect the product from light/air, so it had to be a bit thicker to achieve that. Once it makes contact with skin, it warms up enough to spread!
I have used the Medi-Peel Bio-Intense Glutathione White. I generally stay well away from fragrance but at the time of purchase there weren't many products with Glutathione in so figured I would try it. I could not smell any heavy fragrance and amazingly, my skin did not react negatively to it. It was nice, I enjoyed it but not something I will purchase again. I do however, LOVE the Isntree Onion Repair Gel Cream. A blob of that on any acne that crops up seems to calm it down overnight. Doesn't make it disappear but does seem to take a lot of the anger away. Also, I should have mentioned in your previous vid, Aquaphor does a SPF30 Lip Protectant which is also very good. It is more of a gel than a balm so hair will stick but it feels nice on the lips, lasts a long time and doesn't smell or taste like sunscreen. I prefer the Paulas Choice one though but this is a nice alternative (purchased it from iherb because we can't get Aquaphor in NZ).
Hi Alice. This isn't a K Beauty product but I thought you might like to hear about it. I am in no way affiliated. I just love skin care. There is a new doctor created skincare brand called Unintoxicated. I got the cream and it is nothing short of amazing. I know you like rich creams, as do I. This cream is rich and thick without being greasy.
Hi. Not sure if you will read this. Medi peel also has an ampoule in the same line as the essence, which I think does not bubble up. Do you know if they are very similar and can be swapped ? This was such an interesting video that I had to look at all the products from medi peel and the sister company derma maison. Thank you.
I’ve been using the medi-peel face cream moisturiser and I’ve enjoyed it, was wondering about trying the ampoule, so pleased you reviewed the peptide-9 ❤
Medi Peel is acrually super famous among AB (and well, actually skincare) nerds in Russia. Especially the bor tox and peptide volume lines. The neck lift cream is what everyone's been raving about since it came out :)) Another one i dont see being talked about in the west is Bueno and their volume lift serum. Contains volufiline. I'll be trying it out on my under eye hollows and see if miracles do happen 😂
I have one! Herbloom I got their "oil to foam" cleanser and it's the most perfect cleanser ever. It's such a gentle and hydrating oil that lathers into a soft foam. After using it, there's no oily residue and my skin is perfectly clean and not stripped. I don't know about makeup, but it completely removes sunscreen. Now I want to try all of their products.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Let us know what you think :) It's not on Stylevana, I got it on Amazon. There's also a make p:rem oil to foam cleanser on Stylevana that I want to try and see if it's just as good.
Here is a great video idea I’ve been seeing more and more K beauty products at TJ Maxx. It would be fun for you to go there and pick some things out and make a routine.
@@SA30.137 I don’t have the Medipeel essence but I do have Sungboon Editor Green tomato serum which also contains volufiline. I’ve been using the Medicube booster pro with it and haven’t had any issues. I think the products that the Medicube device has trouble conducting are products with oil like thick moisturizers.
@@mkryu true. It doesn't conduct very well with the isntree onion gel for me and mandelic acid from ordinary which do not look thick or have much oil in them. Just wanted to know whether I should invest in the Essence. I find it a little expensive for a 100ml product. Sounds great tho! Will try it out.
Finally bought the LionPair cream in my first ever StyleVana purchase (I’ve preferred OliveYoung and YesStyle)! Also managed to yoink the Manyo bifida ampoule (30 ml) for just $11.50??! 😍 been wanting to try that one on your recommendation for a long time now!
