0:22 Monarch Mt. CO 1:23 Mt. Bohemia MI northern peninsula 2:28 Showdown Mt., MT remote, low traffic, affordable 3:22 Solitude UT "most powder per person" 4:23 Cochran's Ski Area, VT 350 ft vert., but very affordable 5:27 Grand Targhee ID/WY 6:36 Whitefish, MT 7:42 Silverton, CO, experts, w/ guides, only 8:55 Alyeska, AK 9:52 Powder Mt., UT 8,464 acres, the most in the US
I can definitely vouch for alyeska it is now my home mountain some insane runs, great instructors (I am one) who love to show off the mountain, and an awesome community vibe. Unlike other resorts we also get big storms almost every two weeks so everything stays open pretty consistently and with superb conditions. (Also Christmas chute is the steepest run in North America that's still inbounds) There is also an additional 1000ft of hikeable terrain off of high silver and up to alyeska summit.
Solitude should not be on this list. Owned by alterra, 35 dollar parking and completely full parking lot every day due to its unlimited use on the ikon pass. Gtfo
