Ed, we are two Catholic Diocesan Hermits (sisters) who have watched a few of your videos because Sr. Mary Clare's brother told her about you. He told her that he has stopped watching every self-help person and is listening to you alone. I, Sr. Mary Clare wanted to see for myself what he was talking about. No doubt, you are an excellent interviewer and a good listener. My brother told me, "There is something special about Ed. He is the real deal! He has a good heart. I wish you could meet him. Maybe I will write to him about that." My brother has never talked to me like that before. God may be using you to stir something in his heart. Being that Sister Charista and I spend a lot of time in prayer and reflection, we are so blessed to have found our identity in Christ. He was and is the best motivational speaker of all time. Ed, when you speak of putting ourselves first, I thought, well Jesus had to put himself first by waking up early in the morning to pray and reflect. He first spent time communing with His heavenly Father. He knew who He was and He knew His mission. He spent hours in prayer before helping others. He allowed Himself to be filled with the Fathers love. Later in life, when I no longer believed in the lies I believed about myself, and I allowed God to speak truth to my heart of how He sees me, I was set free! The Lord loves each and every one of us so deeply that He doesn't want us to remain the same. God bless you and give you His peace.
Great topic! In my 40s, I took a job hundreds of miles away from all I made prioritys in my life who didn't make me a priority. BEST DECISION EVER!!! Love others, love yourself the most.
I loved that sentence that God doesn’t give you another day for you but for others. Yet, it is true we have to put ourselves at peak performance by meeting our own needs first. If everyone would do that, others wouldn’t need so much from us!
Stand up for yourself, never give up on yourself and sometimes just walk slower to recharge! Soo true about the ripple effect of staying where you don’t belong! Then, you can alwaya decide to use that experience for your benefit, turn a „weakness” and regret into a strength!

I wake up at 4am every morning, take a cold shower, make my coffee and sit with my LORD, this morning my prayer 🙏 was for Philippines and the current Typhoon. My eldest grandson Elijah is stranded there, no flights back to Hawaii till August 20, he is Sr. the starting QB, 4.0 student. I just got off the phone with his head coach and now may not be able to play the season. I praise Jesus that Elijah and his group moved to higher ground before the Typhoon hit, we are praying 🙏 giving thanks that he and his group are safe. We are praying he'll get home sooner. Well I went off subject. 4am with my LORD 5am we do a 5am accountability call with our eXp Realty Hawaii Team 6am have coffee and breakfast with hubby 7:30am today did Bikram @Island Bikram Yoga 9am till now calling Philippine Airlines, making arrangements to get Elijah home. We serve others by taking time to become the best we can be. As a 55-year man, focusing on improving myself so I can add more value to others. It has renewed my energy, my emotions, and excitement for tomorrow more than anything in my life. Settling does suck!!

2023 is the year of ME. I told myself in January that I needed to focus on ME for the first time because I can’t be a mother hen to all of the people in my life if I’m not at 100%. Best decision I have ever made. 💪

Great message brother. I think this comes from when we are young when someone says “the person is selfish” or “stop being selfish” as it’s a bad thing. So we grow up thinking selfishness is bad when it’s really good…we need to change our belief in being selfish and realize it’s amazing and good not bad.

Ed, appreciate you putting this out here. Personally speaking, I have been one of those people that put everybody and everything and their needs before mine. As of a few years ago I made the decision to put me and my needs first. The hardest part was getting over the sense of guilt then after a while, I began to appreciate how being selfish was actually producing healthy outcomes for my immediate circle. Ain't no shame in it when nobody is getting hurt behind you being happy.
I love this Ed! We do forget about ourselves/put ourselves last! I was taught growing up that we needed to be there for others no matter the cost. Growing up I found this to be the opposite! We should fill our energy tanks so we can give to others! How can you serve depleted people when you are depleted? Thank you for your loving reminder!❤

I have put myself last for so long because I was told that when I started to build my business I was told I want yo much and would lose everything because I was selfish. I was so driven before and now I am trying to get that back and it is hard. My confidence is a struggle now.

@teamp000 agree 100% but it isn’t always easy when you’re not self-employed and you have to meet the needs of your employer employer, of course thinks that their needs come first so then you were put second. Then you have family in the family has their needs. However, I do agree that being in good physical shape and good mental shape allows you to give more and to do more no matter what your age. I love when you always come up with new subjects not just on business it’s really important. You become a mover and a shaker in the influence world not only in a business model, but also an a personal development model and I think that’s amazing and I’m glad you recognize that gift .
I have never related more to a video than this and I have with this. Things look so obvious and I haven't even noticed. I am the guy that feels that doesn't belong anywhere anymore. Whoaaaa i needed this one badly. I've been stuck for years and in a hole. Settling does suck. I totally gave up almost everything. I've been working on it recently as i have no choice. Yes....I learned this the hard way when my health was affected because putting thing and people before me...the pandemic. changed all that...I made me first...got my health back...8 hours only and whatever isn't done is done the next day...yes...this was great to hear...yes its time to move on my job and yes I have out grown friendships etc and its okay...🙏🙏🙏
