Its very important to understand how to calculate the taxes on your payslip.
When you are able to understand your taxes you can better manage and minimise them.
In this video I go through an example of single person making €45,000 per annum and recalculate how much tax they have to pay ( PAYE , USC and PRSI) using the 2022 Tax rates.
I hope you find this useful, please subscribe for more.

Building wealth from nothing involves consistent saving, disciplined spending, and strategic investments. Begin by creating a budget to track expenses and identify areas for savings. Prioritize paying off high-interest debt and establishing an emergency fund. As you build a foundation, start investing in low-cost options like index funds, and focus on continuous learning and improving your skills for better income opportunities.

That's quite remarkable! I'm genuinely interested in benefiting from the guidance of such experienced advisors, especially considering the current state of my struggling portfolio. May I know the name of the advisor who has been assisting you in navigating these financial challenges?......

Please do keep us informed on the ways we can keep our deductions at bare minimum. Since you mentioned of the pension scheme, similar to it what else can one declare or claim while filing IT returns to keep our taxable income low. Such as health insurance or long term investments.

So, years ago, PRSI was supposed to pay for dole and OAP etc. Now an extra Social Security/Social Insurance/National Insurance charge called USC has been added. So, now we pay two separate types of Social Security/Insurance payments.... Sounds like a rip-off...

Depending on your tax base ( week one or cumulative ) and your assessment options , single or married you will have money refunded on the next pay date or at the end of the year. if you are not clear on this log on your myAccount.ie , My enquires and ask. jan 1 to end of dec . bonus tip , be sure to ask for your flat rate expenses. eg shop assistants get 121 a year and it can be back dated 4 years .

Hi Walter Thanks for video. I have a question for you. My wife informed the system that we were married and made a tax adjustment in her own way, so that less tax would be deducted. but he must have done it wrong because now the total salary payment seems to be zero. We wrote this to the system, but it is still under investigation and my wife still does not receive a salary. do you know how to set this up? what should we do?

@OverlordRaven123
@OverlordRaven123 Год назад
I am not sure what you mean exactly , you can contact revenue ( myAccount.ie : My Enquires ) and request a review. Inform them of your employment and provide your status ( single married ) . be sure to request any / all relevant credits ( flat rate) , Note you can request up to 4 years. I think you may be talking about being placed on emergency tax, if you have not given the information needed to process your taxes , (PPSN, Date of birth, address etc ) Revenue will tax you at the highest rates to ensure they do not lose money. Once you have provided this information ( myAccount.ie) you will be given a tax credit and USC certificate . this will state what you will be charged (cut off points) and at what rates. Any over payments of tax will be refunded ( cumulative ) on the next pay date or at the end of the tax year ( week one/ non cumulative)
