I've never had a cataract in my eye in my life ever and it came in my eye just out of the blue without warning to me

My name is deirdre Mac Mahon from Dublin Ireland I'm 56 years old now and i have age related degeneration in my right eye a doctor mahamod from medical optics in bray Co wicklow Ireland told me when i went to see him for an eye test recently and I'm waiting to go into the eye and ear hospital in Dublin Ireland for surgery on my right eye

Check out about the effects of saffron in AMD. Recent clinical study showed vision improvement in dry AMD. Look for a product called Saffron 2020.

I have dry macular degeneration, personaly I would love to participate in a study, going blind scares me. My mom went blind from wet macular she is now 95 great health but blind. help

i have been diagnosed with AMD, and have an appt to see a specialist. I also have Sjorgen syndrome from a Thyroid discease I have had this Throid discease since 1981. I also have 20/20 vision with MD, which perplexes me. I am 89 . My Brother, who is deceased had MD and had shots every month. I might relate also I am very allergic to medicines. My Husband is deceased, so I live alone, I have a computer and a I phone. Also I belong to the Framingham Heart Study.

Since there is no cure for macular degeneration and because of the cost of medication injected into the eye, what are the merits of doing the eye treatments?

+Sarah McCoy no drugs or treatment can cure the disease but can improve the quality of life...every drug we dump into our body has draw backs too....then why we r taking even though we know its effects too its because at the other end of spectrum we r acepting it and on the other hand we want that disease to go on its own which definately is a bad choice... bugs in body wont go away on its own until my immunity is not strong same thing happens with thse diseases....and about ARMD if we cant cure atleast we can halt it at some point where it will not turn out to be devastating...

I am just 21 and seem to have wet macular degeneration. My central vision is distorted and I badly need to take some treatment done. I have a whole lot of career above me. Please help.

hi value, i have the same and i got it when i was 27, i live in the netherlands and i went form doctor to doctor because they didnt know what it was untill i got to the Leiden University Medical center, (www.lumc.nl/?setlanguage=English&setcountry=en) where they know about the disease and know what to do abuot it, im going to undergoe a verteporfin treatment in a couple of weeks, i have trust in the doctors and i did my own research online, it is right now the best medical scientific treatment for this, ask your doctor about it and if you can try to find a specialized hospital/research center that treats Wet aMD, good luck man its scary but trust your doctors!
