@@9Dan22 No they think she may have had a bleed on the brain which caused her to fall down the stairs. However she was absolutely fine all day. Completely flipped out lives :(
Thank you for this. I have 'survivor's guilt' over turning off my husband's life support when I was told he was brain dead. I never understood until now that he COULDN'T ever recover. In my head, for some reason, I thought of it as similar to a coma and felt that I just didn't give him enough time after only 3 days of life support. Now, I realize that he was already gone and, keeping his body going would have been cruel. Still... I wasn't able to be at his side when his end came and that is a whole other psychological issue that I will have to learn to live with.

Brain death is a scam to get your loved ones to turn you over for organ harvesting. They don’t even anesthetize the poor patient and only administer a paralytic agent to keep you from been able to squirm or move once they cut you open ! Many nurses complain because they see the patients blood pressure and heartbeat rise ! This is because they can fell every single cut while their organs are been removed, it’s absolutely BARBARIC! You have to be alive and breathing in order to get viable organs.....the insanity of these doctors to push for organ donations is unethical and should be criminal ! My brother Joey is currently on life support after having suffered a stroke due to a blood clot in the brain. We are taking him off the ventilator tm.. I’m just so devastated and broken by everything. It all happened so fast, none of us were prepared to lose him. I love u Joey..

My 25 year old daughter passed after a severe asthma attack.I work in healthcare and I understand brain death. She died May 28th 2021. Today is the 1st time decided to actually watch and see what exact tests are done to determine brain death..

There is no such thing as being brain dead, while still on a functioning ventilator...Data memory storage space started becoming virtually unlimited in 1995, so all of a sudden, it becomes very important to destroy a person's complete medical records after they die???

My loved one’s pupils had slight but definite reflexes when I would shine a light in their eyes. Each eye responded differently as well. However, the doctor said that’s not what they’re looking for they’re looking for the eye to move away from the light. Please someone tell me the truth he is gone now. I also feel like they called it too soon, they did the test while sedated. They also seemed to be more concerned with organs then saving him. They did little to nothing to reduce the swelling on his brain.
My grandma has Brain cancer but her heart is beating strong. The doctors took her off all of the machines a week ago but she is still with us. She is still fighting but she’s in a lot of pain. Is it normal for the heart to be as strong as it is for her age?

Hi Doctor..I received a call from one of my friend as his relative has critical condition and went to emergency department .After CPR pulse came back and no BP .No eye movements and patient under ventilator. Still no BP .is there any chance to survive ?

What I didn’t understand was the breathing test . To test if they are brain dead , you remove the oxygen supply which will actually make things worse . If you don’t know someone’s brain dead how does disconnecting all oxygen confirm that they didn’t have it before you disconnected? I see it almost like “ let me test if you’re dead by stabbing you in the heart “ . I don’t get it.
Lung function is regulated by the brain stem. The apnea test is done to detect if the brain is capable of inducing a breath response due to carbon dioxide concentration in the blood stream. If the brain stem of an individual is damaged enough it will be unable to regulate breathing, thus requiring the need for a ventilator in order to supply oxygenated blood.
My understanding is, someone in a coma will have a reflex to the ventilators being turned off and the carbon dioxide building up in the lungs. A brain dead person, will have no such reaction.

@@DucatiQueen stop with the nonsense.. they don't feel pain because the pain pathways aren't working, yet their spinal reflexes can still be intact that's why sometimes we use paralytic agents, the sympathetic and parasympathetic and even the hormonal changes can also still be intact.. but as long as the vital centers and the reticular formation are biologically dead, the person are done with as a human, they will forever live in a vegetative state with the help of different machines, with no hope in recovery, unless you think the idea of keeping them til we discover a treatment is logical.. The brain is too complex to think that a person is alive because his other cardiovascular and respiratory organs determine his well being, someone can be brain dead and move their eyes, someone can be brain dead and show basic interactions.. The unethical part here is to try to extend their death, to give false hope, and to hold the organs from someone who can actually use them to live a human life..
