Those who fish swim baits usually already understand hook basics. I left out a bunch of specialized hooks to keep things simple. Did you have a question regarding swim baits hooks?

I noticed you didn't mention octopus hook. I'm just beginning and still learning how to fish. I've been using a number 10 octopus hook for fishing stocked trout and have caught a few with it. I'm just wondering if I should be using something else. I've watched some of your videos and have help me answer some of my questions so thank you for posting.

the lakes near me only permit barbless fishing hooks and have carp up to 30lb aswell asdecent size bream,roach,perch,tench and rudd. I was wondering what type and size of hook you would recommend for my 2 rods.. i was thinking one rod for carp and another for the smaller fish. Im a complete beginner and know nothing!!

maybe respool with 20-30lb test braided line, its super thin, strong and ultra sensitive, then for your rig use fluorocarbon, its abrasion resistant like mono, but its invisible to the fish, so they wont be spooked away, try a smaller hook too, maybe a size 2 baitholder with a small chunk of shrimp or a 2-4 in strip of squid, ook it so its straight and not clumped into a ball, and most importantly, be ready for the bite and the hookset

how do you fish the non weighted and the weighted swimbait hooks

I'm using a shakespeare alpha rod from wallmart... 25 pound... using it with the line it came with... palomar knot... doa 1/4 shrimp... havent caught anything yet off my saltwater pier in florida... :( any tips?
