What is considered "normal conditions"? Where can I find more information about the way the specific arrangement of atoms gives rise to the mineral's physical properties such as colour, smell, etc.?

I think #4 needs to be clarified or elaborated on because there are a small number of elements that are considered to be minerals (gold, silver, sulphur, etc.) Being elements, they are by definition not “a specific combination of elements” as stated in #4. Perhaps if you put the word “or” between the two clauses.

Also, the term “chemical formula”, from what I have been able to find on the internet, seems to apply to molecules and compounds, but not elements.

Some native elements are classified as minerals....Diamond is a good example as you mentioned.

mineral gold is almost always mixed with silver, platinum and another precious metals, so it's an alloy of multiple metals yet native metallic mercury is considered a mineral, even though it's liquid and possibly also containing other elements
