I’m grateful you’ve created these videos for Moho Debut. It looks like most tutorials are based on Pro, which makes sense because of its full features. But I want to see if I even like this before investing $300+.

Im referencing basically a recording of/a live stream, start to finish, lightly edited, for maybe an animation slightly more detailed. You have a great starter set here. It got me somewhere fast! But a more realtime almost side by side experience is the best way to describe it.

I rigged and vectored my character in Moho pro 13. You can import a ps file into Moho pro and debut. Moho will respect the layers within the project. If you’re using Moho debut you can only import one PS file per project. I believe clip studio paint can export files as a PS file, so you can also import your drawings from clip studio paint.

Great question! Moho debut 13 is an excellent program for beginner animators who want to learn puppet animation. You can draw vector art, rig, and animate all within the program. The main difference between pro and debut is that smart bones are only available in pro. Smart bones make rigging quicker and animating easier, but they are not needed to create good animation. Good animation comes with practice and skills, not fancy tools. I will warn you that moho is not designed to be used for 2D or 3D animation; its main purpose is puppet animation (which is also called 2.5D animation). The company offers a free 30-day trial of moho pro, which also includes moho debut. I suggest that before you purchase the software to use the 30 day trail to ensure the program is a good fit for you. I hope this helps!!

@@micahbell7840 You can make animated shorts using moho! It’s just that you can only make puppet animation in moho. 2D, 2.5D and 3D animations are TYPES of animation. For example… A 2D example would be Disney’s Cinderella, every frame is hand drawn. A 2.5D animation would be opening to this video; I made a rig of my character, and I moved it around to create the illusion of movement. A 3D example would be Disney’s inside out.
