I go through some of Jeff Cronenweth's cinematography techniques to help you understand his unique style.
Just to be clear: Jeff Cronenweth changes his style to suit the movies he shoots. The goal of this video and article is to drum up enthusiasm and a yearning to learn more.
Think of it as a tribute, nothing more is intended.

Finally got around to watching one of your videos. I am a cinematographer and found this extremely useful. Thank you for taking the time to choose relevant shots, choose your words carefully, edit conservatively and most importantly study the content well.

I'm dying to see a step by step of EVERY stage of a single David Fincher scene. I want to see: 0) What the storyboards or pre-vis looks like and I'd like to know how much input the storyboard artist has or if David is telling him EXACTLY what angles and images he wants in the illustration or computerized scene. 1) What the scene looks like if you were on set. 2) What the scene looks through the camera view finder. 3) What the scene looks like on the on-set monitors (if they have live LUTs applied or not). 4) What the scene looks like when it's first ingested into the editing suite. 5) What the scene looks like at every stage of editing - I'm not sure if they go the traditional route of editing for picture first and then color correcting the final edited scene, or if they color correct as they edit - either way I'd love to see the process from start to finish) 6) And then I'd like to see what the final output looks like.

You always say, at the end of each video "I hope this brief video makes you curious enough to learn more about the cinematography of..." I think you're fantastic! Your analysis of cinematographers are always spot on!! But can you be so kind as to ALSO point us to references as to where to learn more? :) ALSO, would you consider doing a; "Understanding the directing of" series? Thanks so much for all your research and all your sharing!! You ROCK!!!
