Hi, if i may add: there is a tricky problem which helps the shadow self remaining in... the shadow. The fact that by becoming transparent with the self one can acquire the feeling that his/her own persona also becomes transparent for the others to see. At the very least the secret lost a concealment layer This is very unconscious but i am quite sure it plays a top-role in such a relectance to confront oneself with the truth inside. This added to this faculty human has to narrate an embellished story for the self, and that way be able to sustain a minimal self-esteem for being able to cope with life, even whether one being objectively a spiritual and/or material misery. I believe a genuine spiritual inquiry can only be thorough if we understand what kind of a nullity we are basically (this can be confronted in intimacy, not necessary to play it a chatting topic). I am not here stating humans have no value, but they are -- at least in the west -- victims of a catastrophic nonsense education while growing, which formats them to become efficient obedient producers of anything they may 'choose' to do in life, Dreaming and with it any connections with the subconcious are crushed. This aspect amplifies the self-tale distorsion and by so let people believe first degree the character they have built, not only for others but for themselves too. Such a crucial issue only a radical position can address.
