Solomonster is back with a full review of Chapter 2 of the new WWE Network documentary series titled "Undertaker: The Last Ride". Part two picks up after the disappointing WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns and need for redemption, his staggering list of injuries, his relationships with Michelle McCool and Vince McMahon, his WrestleMania 34 match with John Cena and the one thing he was disappointed by with it. I also talk about why the Cena vs. Undertaker match came five years too late, and it has little to do with Undertaker's physical state.

@@swfcocs1 Not as pissed though I suspect.....but it's interesting how openly honest everyone involved appeared to be from the preview for Part 3. Kinda refreshing in a way given the stature of that match and how it was built up.

@@ajk maybe,the sad part for me,as a long time taker fan,is that he is doing exactly what he most didnt want to do, that is going on too long and being a shadow of his old self. I dont watch his matches any more, and he was one of the few I still watched after I quit WWE five years ago, him and Punk were the only two I stuck with, and I say this as a fan whose favourite all time match(,or one of them) is the first HIAC with Shawn

@SP The finish of that Rumble, where Taker and HBK basically foreshadow what they would go on to do at Wrestlemanias a few years later, is widely considered the best finish to a Royal Rumble match ever. So I don't think Taker's win is overlooked, but maybe it would be appreciated more if he and Batista actually main evented Mania that year.

The only Year the could've had Taker vs Cena while the Streak was alive would have been at WM 27! There was no need to do Taker vs HHH 3 times at Wrestlemania (17,27,28) even tho it was the best match of the night and it made sense after he retired Shawn. What did WWE really get from Cena vs Miz? It wasn't that bad but still Taker vs Cena would have been perfect without the title! Rock still could have had a confrontation with Cena.

Think it has something to do with when they were in WCW before Taker joined WWE. Taker never seemed to like working any former WCW guys except Flair and Booker.

I really enjoyed the second episode of The Last Ride and it was really nice to see Undertaker life outside of the ring, I loved the banter between him and Michelle, it's very warm with lots of genuine love and at times it's quite funny especially when they talked about how they met each other. I was absolutely shocked and amazed at how much weight Undertaker lost to get in shape for WM34, I have to give credit to Michelle mcCool, she has been an absolute rock for Undertaker and it really shows throughout the documentary how much she cares about him. I am really looking forward to episode 3.

30:51 that scene in the tunnel, was from Survivor Series 2015 after the Brothers of Destruction match with the Wyatt's. At Takers 25th anniversary celebration, cos the hair was abit longer at Mania 32 the following year.

25 mins for that Roman Reigns match I agree was a mistake Undertaker is best ever but the man isn't what he use to be and Vince should have known that and made the match shorter. I am happy Taker hasn't come back after the boneyard match that with AJ was the best match he is going to get hopefully he gets a hof induction soon because he deserves 100 %

As far as Sting Vs. Undertaker, I think Cornette was right on the money. It sounds good on paper, right up until you have to be the one to decide who loses that match. It's a no win scenario no matter who goes over, and there's no way people would except some kind of fucked finish.

I just had to pause the video to share this, I’ve been listening to DTKC and Solomonster for 10+ years and I have never even cared to watch a video of them talking to see what they actually look like it’s always been just audio. Today is the first time I actually see Jason on video and just few weeks ago I saw Don Tony on video for the very first time and idk why it’s so weird to me. It feels like I’ve been blind for 10+ years and in my mind I’ve had this picture of what I thought Don Tony and Jason looked like and now my entire life changed lol

It was a replacement. They resurfaced the hip to be able to fit the implant. Same operation on other hip. Now has 2 bionic hips.

WM29 could have been the ideal year for Cena vs Taker with the streak still going. Punk vs Rock would have been decent WM main event. We had Cena vs Rock the year before on top of that.

@Louis Louis I believe both bought their trademarks for $1 MIL each. I could be mistaken. If you remember there was a time where The Rock wouldn't use that name he just went by "Dwayne Johnson". That pretty much cut Vince out of any money from "The Rock" trademark.

I thought you would talk more about how the Undertaker as close as he is with Vince, he still doesn't know what to expect every time he has a conversation with Vince. I remember Bam Bam Bigelow rf shoot, he discussed how you go in with a meeting with Vince saying "I got these types of questions, I need these types of answers, have nothing answered, and I go out of the meeting feeling great". I think many wrestlers feel this way, but even Taker who is so close with him

What made 04 a rough year for him? Was it the awkward transition of mixing the traditional undertaker style (zombie,no-sell) with the ABA gimmick(faster, some selling and mma holds) or not being matched with good oponents?

As an addict, and someone who loves and respects Taker, I can say he exhibits addictive behavior towards wrestling, doesn’t matter the toll it takes on his life, or his health, he will continue to do it. Always an excuse to come back if he has a bad match, or a good match, doesn’t matter, there’s always an excuse to keep going. It’s sad to watch him now, especially a guy who made the mistake of saying in that interview years ago that he doesn’t want to be the old guy hanging on past his prime.
