Should she REALLY be considered a mini-boss? I mean she changes the player's SOUL and she's pretty strong. I think she should be considered a proper boss.

Muffet is so cute and her fight was very fun, she's definitely one of my favorites. I also just noticed that you have to survive through breakfast, lunch, and dinner before the telegram arrives, how adorable.
Fun fact - if you buy something from the spiders back in the Ruins (and the items aren't overpriced unlike in Hotland) and consume it during the fight with Muffet, she immediately spares you.
The reason that one spider keeps telling what attacks Muffet will use next, is cause it probably knows you aren't a bad person and Is waiting for the telegram from the ruins, it wants you stay alive till the telegram arrives, so it hopes telling you what comes next will help keep you alive long enough....
First Monster Musume introduced Rachnera, then Undertale introduced Muffet and the Spider Bakesale. You realize what is happening right? Society is on the brink of curing Arachnophobia.

This is easily my favorite battle in the game. The music is catchy, the scenario is funny _(lulz @ synchronized dancing/clapping spiders)_, and the battle itself was both very innovative and difficult enough to be a challenge without becoming frustrating. A lot of fun overall. Also loved the character design of Muffet. She's cute, both in appearance and dialog. Adore the separately-functioning eyes. Kind of wish she became a main character. This may have been the only part that didn't feel like a chore to play through for the second time during my genocide run. _PS: Muffet's death is hella sad_ இڿڰۣ-ڰۣ-
+BongaFish If I heard correctly, Muffet wasn't supposed to be in-game. I think she was from the put your character here tier in Kick Starter. Yet she fits in so well. Toby did a great job in fitting her in-game.
+BongaFish I also really liked the boss, but I also felt it kind of came out of left field, while yeah there was a couple of spider bake sales, most other bosses are integral to the games plot, this one? Not really...

And if she really was someone else's idea, Toby Fox did a good job of making an essentially shoehorned character work _pretty darn well._ But, yes, I wish Muffet had a more substantial role. At the least, be given a second appearance after sparing her. She would have fit in perfectly near the end, selling discounted bakery items behind the core's Mettaton hotel instead of Bratty and Katty. That way, if you didn't spare her, you'd squander the last opportunity to buy affordable food before the final boss. It would give her both some continuity and memorable relevance.
+Anthony Colon It's funny how this game has 1 shoehorned in character that everyone loves (Muffet) and 1 shoehorned in character that everyone hates (So Sorry) to balance it out into the middle. Also, gonna have to agree with everyone else here. I wish Muffet would've showed up more in this game.
Something felt off, so I used a "Tap for Beats Per Minute" web app. ...The music is a fraction of a BPM faster than Muffet's sprite animation. Like, 115 BPM vs. 114.7 BPM. >_>

*Spoiler alert* The one who "warned" her about the human was Flowey, tricking her into fighting him (probably to prove his point that this world is about "to kill or to be killed") The promise of money is just a lie (He tends to do that...doesn't he?) To further prove my point she says that she saw them changing shape in the shadows and the only character who can actually change shape(WITHOUT HELP FROM THE PLAYER OR ALPHYS( [I'm talking about mettaton] )is Flowey. Now, the things about humans "hating spiders" and "liking to pull their legs apart" might actually be memories that Flowey has from the first human (Like...check the wiki...kid's messed up) and again to further prove my point she says at the end of the fight that "they" must have meant a "DIFFERENT human in a striped shirt", and the only other human in a striped shirt we see in the game is Chara, The first human, at the end of the Genocide route.
‘They must have meant a different human in a striped shirt!’ is meant to be a comedic line, not to have connotations of Chara. It kinda shows how Muffet’s allegiance completely changes based on how you previously treated spiders
She has a medium attack, but she attacks so quickly it doesn't matter. Sans is literally the easiest enemy in the game. He has 1 attack, 0 defense and 1 health. BUT, he attacks so quickly that he does damage per second making his attacks do tons of damage, and he doges YOUR attacks so you never get a hit on him.
Unknown name You don't have the short invincibility time after being hit in the sans fight, so it drains quickly. If he had a higher attack, you would be dead before you could say pun.
I mean shes strong enogh, shes attacks are unique and the music is brilliant. One of my favorite caracters, even if we dont hear much about her in the game
In my opinion, Muffet is not a mini boss but in fact the final boss of Hotland (Mettaton EX being the final boss of the CORE). Let’s be real, Muffet, Mettaton and Asgore are the only real challenges on the pacifist route.
What about Undyne??? I know it's nowhere near as hard as the genocide one but like- I think she was pretty much the hardest boss in the whole game, apart from Muffet.
+ArcVaranus It is kinda weird that she just shows up once and has no real role in the story afterwards, unlike the other bosses. Maybe it's because she was a "guest" character not designed by Toby.
Yeah Muffet was a kickstart character, which was basically you could pay 1000$ to have a boss fight (muffet) , or 500$ to have a secret boss fight (so sorry, glyde) she doesn't have any real influence on the game other then if you chose to spare or kill her :0
But then during the “meals” the attacks speed up and it’s super triply. I’ve gotten used to it now though, I still have to remind myself to watch the attacks and ignore the music.

One of the best boss battles in the game. Along with whole Mettaton's show and Sans battle. And Undyne. She was cool too. Oh, and how could I forget about Flowey. Asgore fight was also fun. And yeah, Dummy, he was hilarious... ..daym...

I think Muffet is underrated. I mean, she's a really cute CHARActer tbh. Her battle isn't that hard and it doesn't BUG me too much. And her theme is probably one of my favorite songs in this game. No one ever really makes any comics about her, and a lot of people forget her.
Actually, it was Mettaton. The smile was EX, and the changing shape was him going back to the box shape in time for you to see him in the next level. I think he said this during his EX fight... Not sure though.
+Unknown name I don't think it is Mettaton because in the Mettaton EX battle, he says that he doesn't want to harm humans, that he was far from actually doing that and only wanted to entertain. It makes more sense that it goes with Chara, because Chara is smiling, and is no longer human, but a weird-demon-child-soul-ghost-thing and can shape shift into anything as long as their that. Chara also has the most gold in the underground, because in the genocide run, when you encounter Chara, they say that they are all of your STATS increasing, including gold, so Chara must have tons of gold, which is how they got to offer it to Muffet. :)
__._lindsay_.__ Interesting point... This is off topic, but Mettaton didn't want to hurt you? The gigantic machete he took out in the cooking segment says otherwise. As far as I saw, the only reason he didn't kill you there was because of Alphys. And what about all those bombs? Good god man, Frisk is a child. Without Alphys, you would have died on the quiz part!
Ah, I was wondering what would happen if you hadn't bought anything in the Ruins! If you do buy something, she just says that since you bought something, you must be a friend to spiders and lets you go. If you eat something you bought from the spiders waaaaaaaay back then while fighting Muffet, the fight ends right then and there with your victory.
+Page Book And if you eat a Spider Donut or drink Spider Cider in front of her, she first thinks you stole it... but then that spider with the telegram comes right away. Skippable boss fight! ....But it means not listening to the awesome music.
...Still can't believe people think a anthropomorphic Spider is a good waifu... i mean... i'm _not_ into that... but i still find it very weird. Then again, the same happens with hedgehogs.
A random fun fact i found in a biology book: Some animals, like spiders and starfish... start the process of digesting *out* of their body, and when it's digested enough they eat it. This became weird very quickly

If you go to the spider bake sale in the ruins, you can get a spider cider (Made with whole spiders, not just the juice.) or a spider doughnut and get either out during the fight with Muffet, that will end the fight. Happy gaming.

When I was stuck on her I just reset and bout a spider donut from the ruins and then cared on, not eating the donut to skip muffet. Otherwise, if you don't wanna reset just try to memorise her patterns and keep on going
