Brando Zanipatin Technically, he's been Chara from the beginning. SPoilers Ahead, even if it doesn't matter The entire time, you are Frisk, but have Chara's soul inside you. When you do Genocide/No Mercy, they take over Frisk's body and gain total control of Frisk. Chara is actually who you name in the beginning. When you type in a name for "Name the fallen human", that's Chara. Even in the Pacifist route, you're Chara, but not an evil one, because Frisk's good nature overrides the weak hold the soul had on him. In the bad routes, the evil in Chara takes over. Does that make sense? I'm better at explaining things over writing but still I'm bad at explaining things.

+LMaruchan FYI I've read that if you get it on Steam then it syncs to Steam Cloud, and Steam has a cache for cloud data on your computer so turning it off still isn't enough. You have to uninstall the game and delete every inch of data to truly reset it.

Chara completely disregards the story, the experience a game as to offer, and only see it as, well, a game, a way to entertain themselves and go on a murder spree just for the sake of it, for the sake of completion, of beating the game. This clashes with the main character's own personnality and behavior, Frisk has a personnality, and is depicted as very friendly person, willing to do the best there is for everyone, that's also why Frisk has set name and that Chara's name is up to the player, because Frisk is a character, while Chara is not. Chara is a player. It is heavily hinted that, during a genocide run, Frisk is "possessed" by Chara, Frisk's actions are those of the player, of Chara. Chara being the name you give them, and Toby having stated that you should pick the name at the beginning after your own, if you get that ending, the implications here become horrible. Even Flowey at the end of a true Pacifist run tells your not to reset the world and to let everyone live happily on that note, meaning that you went through the story, lived it, and replaying it would be erasing this whole timeline, this whole experience as if it was nothing and just restart it to tweak and change and experience new possibilities instead of just resting satisfied with that ending. You can also link that to the completionism mentality being portayed as being more numb to stories, writting, and characters in RPGs, and that those people just go through the experience without being sensitive to it and thus miss the point, and it may be true and what Toby intended to say but I personaly disagree to it and think it's dumb. Hope that whole chunk of wasting your time was clear and intelligible and did anything for you. Undertale is a meta commentary on the gamers' personality and a reflection on the media and the relation between our avatar and ourselves. MAN WHAT A FUCKING GOOD VIDEOGAME

@James Earl Cash And what do you think happens to the cow, once she can't have any calfs anymore? Also, the Cow needs to have a Calf, to give Milk like any other Mammal. Most of these Calfs are slaughtered for meat, a few of them remain at the farm, so the Cows hear them Scream, which does not just increase Milk production, but also, once the Calf is old enough, it can become a Milk Producer. A few Rare Bulls are used for breeding, i guess those are the lucky once, which will still be slaughtered once they are to old. You say they aren't killed for Milk, but the Money the farmers earn with the milk, still goes to the same people which in the end sell the cow to the slaughter house, or pay with this money too have it slaughtered and sell the meat. You don't eat eggs, but i am almost a 100% certain you eat products which contain eggs, or egg white. Now, that is a really dumb reason to be a vegetarian. Why not just buy fresh meat and cook it, instead of instant food, or fast food, sure they will sell you all kinds of shit, but you can by fresh meat or are you certain the ribs you buy at a butchery contain some human ribs as well?

PrimarilyHyena Actually, you can avoid killing Flowey/Asriel. When he says "please don't kill me" just don't press the confirm button (which i believe it's Z). You can quit the game there without killing Asriel and reset. Only you have the power to press the button or quit the game.

Do you want to know an interesting fact? Even in this ending Flowey still reappear after you have re-opened the game and still say that everyone is happy and to let Frisk live their lives. That could mean that Chara hasn't really done anything bad. They could have take the control just for enough time to punish you making you think that there isn't an happy ending and then let everyone live their lives happily.

If Chara likes chocolate what would happen if you gave their demon self one? Would they start going crazy like a dog screaming to catch a ball?
