Clover doesn't get the determination ability, he already had it (just like other 5 souls), it's just that JUSTICE is the dominant trait of his SOUL, it doesn't mean however that he lacks PERSEVERANCE or BRAVERY, i hope i made myself clear So yea, Clover's determination just kept getting stronger with each LV earned, until it was enough to override Flowey's determination And mind you, Frisk already overrided Flowey's DT when they first fell underground, so no, Clover's DT is not stronger than Frisk's As for saving in battle, Flowey also did that when he gained control over the timeline (by absorbing 6 souls), Frisk/Player could also do that, but they lack the knowledge on how to do so ('sides we already can SAVE and LOAD, doing it inside of battle would be too cheating) However, Frisk still can "SAVE" during a battle in some way, when in a battle against Asriel Dreemurr, and i quote: "You try to reach your SAVE file..."
