@@sonnitudeIts because Flowey was made in the true lab along with all the other amalgamates Because alphys injected asriel in a golden flower that became flowey
@@lancecruz74not true alphys injected determination which was taken by the human souls into both fallen monsters that had not yet dusted aswell as a flower: a flower who's seed was covered in asriels dust. The monsters that were injected were fine for awhile before melting together creating the amalgamates, while flowey was not a monster nor human therefore he could hold the determination without melting and he came to life using the Determination and Asriels Memories
@@CJK_781I dont know why but i am pretty sure that the seed was already grown and become a flower before alphys injected Determination Regardless you are mostly right.
He technically is a form of amalgamate, just a singular mind in a somehow stable body as opposed to many in an unstable form, but considering the likely hundreds of other floweys in the dark rooms, he was just lucky. Or, they're all flowey and those flowers are the previous attempts that didnt fully work
Honestly, the most chilling part of this fight is accidentally finding deep, deep within the emptiness of Flowey's not-soul, so far deep that not even Flowey knows it's there, that decaying fragment of what used to be Asriel (that remaining speck being presumably what is used to functionally 'restore' Asriel in Undertale)
Flowey DOES have a soul, or at least the fragments of Chara’s soul Being inside of an object makes him functionally soulless though, except for the determination shenanigans
A little theory I have is that the giant pile of dead flowers in the mid section represents how many times Flowey reset, which just goes to show why he's gone as insane as he has.
A more morbid way to see this scene is how many times flowey has tried killing himself only to load at his save again, flowey does mention he's tried it before and he blatantly states that to our face, so this scene with the piled up flowery corpses could possibly be flowey thinking he's actually finally died this time for good.
@sausagerobbery8215 to add to that, that could also make some of his attacks in the first phase so much darker. I mean think about them: There's images of flowey being killed or suffering in some kinda way, having his petals plucked, being sliced open, using his own tears to attack the player, etc. They could be used to represent is own mental torment and his own suicidal idealization. How he hates being like this and just wants it all to stop.
my absolute favorite moment in this fight is 15:10 when flowey says "what is wrong with you?" followed by "You..." the second you is him having a moment of realization and he looks at the player because he just realized that clover isn't doing all this by themselves and they have another presence guiding their actions
@@constellationmaker145 he doesn't exactly realize that we exist as a "player" but he starts to realize there's much more to clover than he thought (from his dialogue after doing multiple neutral routes)
and there's the issue. it surpasses the original. and yet flowey with 6 souls loses with less of a fight compared to him throwing hands- er, leaves with clover with none dont get me wrong its awesome that the devs cooked up such a wonderful fight for flowey but it kinda makes canon flowey retroactively look super stupid lmao
@@nathanpierce7681well, this does take place in his mind where he has absorbed your soul. This place inside of him(pause). No wonder it took more he "used more effort". He can do alot more. Besides, we don't even win here. It's just that flowey got born of fighting us and let us go. I don't see the issue
@@darknessreborn2608also Clover being less determined After all original omega flowey loses, just because of frisk's plot armor, flowey wasn't even fighting human and could just one shot, literally was reviving human if u die by loading a file. So it's really difficult to compare and say how different they are logic-wise.
Im not suprised if the undertale yellow team spent 1 whole year on this fight. The amount of passion have been put into this project is unreal. Congrat on the team for the game
@icantthinkofanamegw oh yeah wait does that mean that a possible claymation flowey model exists on someone’s hard drive guess that’s going on the LOST MEDIA ICEBERG
I know you clarified in the description that his attacks are much clearer to dodge but the fact that you went 16 minutes straight without a single hit is wild to me

I love it when Undertale AU’s aren’t just Copy and Paste Genocide Sans fights, this Flowey fight deserves a chefs kiss, it’s a unique spin on Omega Flowey.
this fangame gave Flowey that much more needed potential to become an excellent antagonist also this made me personally like Flowey's character much more now. psychologically terrifying but also very within Toby's range of horror. adore this route's ending
For anyone who doesn’t understand why the fight ended the way it did here’s an explanation. Because Clover’s soul doesn’t have the same amount of Determination that Frisk’s Soul would have they have less power and cannot physically overpower flowey. The Fight ends because Flowey just gets bored of fighting you. In the original undertale Flowey Absorbs the 6 souls because of Frisk simply overpowering his Determination but here Clover’s determination isn’t even a threat, so he doesn’t have to absorb any souls.
This is also why Flowey has to save for Clover, as only the most determined person in the Underground can save, and until Frisk came around, that person was Flowey.
i think Flowey understands that he can't overpower the player. that's why he looks directly at us at the end of a fight. It would just be an endless fight between him and us.
@@mrmissingno10 this is also why clover can save in the genocide route, because clover *becomes* the most determined in the Underground, and killing Flowey reaffirmed that
The fact that this fight is so unhinged and horror like is why it’s my favourite. I find it funny how frisk needed help from all the souls and clover just went through this by him self.
Also worth pointing out that the UTY Flowey fight is taking place in his own imagination after absorbing Clover's soul. All of this is merely but a child's play. Now in OG Undertale you're not fighting a figment of imagination, you're fighting the devil incarnate stocked up on Determination juice that can manipulate the timeline as he wills with 6 freaking human souls stored inside him, unlike in UTY. That's the reason why Frisk calls for help, that fight is way too much for a single human to handle.
@@Joe-os7uu because flowey is toying with Clover before absorbing their SOUL, keeping them alive for as long as possible thats why when you die, he keeps their SOUL from breaking apart with vines
@@gan.3308 i think it is actualy Clover it self preventing it soul to be absorbed by Flowey. We can see that the Vines breaking and Flowey himself saying how you don't just let him absorb you.
@@katTheGreat It's harder than Omega because you're not fighting him in any regular place... you're fighting his mind, in his mind, while he still has more determination than you. Imagine you're Asgore trying to fight Geno Frisk. That's how difficult that would be. This is not a serious fight. Flowey is not taking you seriously. Flowey is not putting his all into it. He is doing this for FUN.
i love how truly disturbing some of the bossfights parts can be. it feels like a true homage to Flowey's own disturbing behaviour's in undertale and it shows just how deranged Flowey has become from who Asriel once was. live laugh love disturbing media and live laugh love this bossfight
When UY Omega Flowey is pissed at the end of the fight, you can see him staring at you for a few second and back to stare clover. Meaning that he is aware someone controlling Clover and help him. Flowey suggestion of trying different things isn't for Clover, it's for the Player
I feel like the first few pieces of dialogue that he says right after he looks at “us” is Flowey coming to terms with the “players” interference with the normal timeline. “Justice” should not be “determined” enough to keep fighting in Flowey’s mind, so when he sees that trait in Clover, he’s right to assume that there is someone else controlling Clover. (“Useless…even now….all of it”) His determination was useless because someone else (outside of the game) was more determined enough to push Clover to keep fighting.
it wouldve been so funny if he had special dialogue for managing to successfully no hit his entire fight like maybe have him ask "what is wrong with ME??!" after asking "what is wrong with you???" since he literally cant hit you once even in his own mind lmao
Maybe it could be like this? * What is wrong with ME?! * … * Congratulations, I guess. * You did something… * I don’t know what. * But you did something. * Take this as your reward… (You gained 2 extra inventory slots!) * See you later, clover!
@@lectuceseller5152 He’s a centaur in Greek mythology who fairies the dead across the River Styx and into the underworld provided they have a coin to pay him.
In this fight, some of the chosen attack patterns can depend on what bosses you killed during your run (in your case, it seemed to only be Axis), so the more bosses you killed, the more difficult this fight's first phase will be.
In Frisks scenario, they had determination. For Clover . . He has nothing. Flowey quite literally hammers it in there’s no hope, imagine just hearing “CLOVER WOULD LIKE TO CRY, BJT THEY HAVE NO EYES . . “ or “one two three four five six S VENENEN SEVNNJGHGHGHHHNNNNNNN “ in your head while fighting this hideous mass of god knows what that’s transforming into paper, clay, yarn, AND FLESH.
Toby actually tweeted that UT Yellow is canon, but im not quite sure, we just only need the other 5 human souls to have a fully developed fangame like Clover has, it could be interesting if Toby Fox actually made these canon.
Fun fact: In flowey’s first phase if you go to actions sometimes there will be words that are positive(i.e hope, endure, ect) and if you chose them it will boost your health by 30% and give you less of the harder attacks Edit: also if this is flowey’s first or second soul consumption then how’s he harder than omega flowey? Second edit: Stop answering the question, it was answered like a million times
That simple True lab also said about experiment about put a Determination on a flower and that made asriel soul trap into flower (flowey) Meaning that flowey has ability of Determination even power save (in genocide route flowey also said when he determination enough, he can respawn back) (his power gone when frisk arrive)
Also another thing: flowey doesn’t consume your soul so how did he get it in the omega flowey fight? Not saying undertale yellow is cannon or anything.
@@katTheGreat While Clover had enough determination and strength to withstand being used by Omega Flowey in Undertale, the other human souls may not have been, and once they were absorbed by Flowey, he would've been able to overpower Clover
While I was trying to dodge usual monsters in Undertale, people like this guy were passing Omega Flowey in Undertale Yellow without damage...Not to mention the rest of the fan games
Here’s a dumb fun fact: the what would you like to do and great came from an old McDonald’s commercial. In the original undertale, flowey uses the same McDonald’s ad for voice lines like that’s a wonderful idea, getting hit, and other things I can’t remember
Fun fact: if you look closely at clover's soul, you can see it flicker into white for a few frames, this probably indicates clovers fear or flowley trying to control clover.
I noticed that each monster form depends on what petal you shoot. For example, if you shoot the crumpled one, you get the arts and crafts monster form.
I just finished this fight last night, and right before the end I realized that the entire thing made me mad nauseous Frankly I don't know if it's more praise to say the battle made my physically nauseous, or to say that it was mentally taxing enough for me to also not notice the nausea until it was finally done. Either way, ggs Flowey, don't close my irl door during battle next time okay?
I see this complaint of flowey in UY being harder than omega flowey, while that might be true, but omega flowey wasn't even trying for half the fight until frisk had the help of all 6 souls, and not to mention that this flowey had the justice soul and you're fighting him in his head too.
I also did it as my first route. To me, I had the same opinion until Meta Flowey appeared. Then the difficulty curve became so steep that it felt like a genocide boss. I guess it's because they thought you'd kill more people. Still, I'd make the battle easier if you barely killed anyone, and have many balanced variations as karma for how many people you've killed, since I feel like the battle as is, is really good to punish the player if they did an aborted genocide route, but otherwise kind of overkill. How many people did you kill to get the route? I only did Decibat and Dalv, so I felt like 3 hours of continuous suffering only for a cop-out where Flowey reset was really not worth it, and although I really like the idea of actually giving the player karma for what they did, this goes way too far if you didn't do a bad neutral ending.
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaa-b6wFlowey's first phase technically gets harder if you kill more bosses since they show up in that phase. If you don't, Flowey just uses his normal patterns
Here's some better names for the six specimens: Mechanical = Classic Marvel Patchwork = Clip Studio Paint Organic = Isaac Clay = Yoshi's Island Paper is fine being Paper Polygonal = N64
I think calling Nightmare Flowey GIMP flowey may fit better, as GIMP is both better than Photoshop, but also doesn't require payment(photoshop requires the 6 souls)
Flowey phases represent many animation styles, which is really awesome Here they are: 1st phase: Ghibi studio style 2nd phase: Stop motion with a doll/plush 3rd phase: modern/early 2010 animation 4th phase: vhs animation 5th phase: paper animation (stop motion) 6th phase: creepypasta animation?
dude i LOVE this fight. the first phase with flowey blatantly stealing undyne's attack, the soundtrack for both phases, the different attacks in the second it just kinda feels like one big indie "ALL TOGETHER NOW!", especially with how it feels like a cuphead boss imo
I really like this version of Creepy Flowey, like this battle hits the uncanny valley perfectly. You can't do anything, and there are also phrases like "clover would like to cry but he has no eyes" in phase 1 and yeah.
I remember playing this with my s/o at night and omg it was so intense and hard TERRIFYING- after all the adrenaline of beating phase 1, seeing that disturbing cut scene really got to us. Especially the scene with martlet where her face is missing for a frame. And honestly this fight is one of the coolest fights in the entire undertale sphere. Such an amazing game that can be both adorable but also terrifying at times!
@@HabitualThinkeralso Flowey’s LOVE is probably massive. He could probably one hit anyone even in a direct fight. Only person that would give him trouble is Sans.
I consider this Flowey boss on par (if not better) with Photoshop Flowey. They’re both perfect in their own ways imo. Photoshop perfectly incapsulates hopelessness and chaos. This meanwhile, incapsulates Flowey’s insanity in a more creepy way. The remix of his theme along with every phase being different incapsulates Photoshop’s hopelessness but in a unique way.
The attacks probably explains Flowey's mental health. 0:26: This is probably when Flowey realizes he can manipulate time, so he commits genocide over and over 0:35 This also probably means when Flowey attempts to kill himself countless times but his injected determination prevents him from death 0:49 and this probably means he has gone insane
Flowey just looking up from Clover's soul, forgetting about them for a sec just to look you dead in the eyes and then giving a monologue about how somethings up with Clover "remembering" (on the first fight) despite their memory being wiped is arguably the most terrifying part of the entire fight
I love how insanely well this fight builds upon Flowey. Each attack in phase 1, save for the corrupted version of any bosses you've killed, feature Flowey's face undergoing some sort of pain to carry out the attack. I think it's a metaphor for self harm, for how much Flowey truly hates himself and how far he's gone to bury it. But when you're within Flowey's own head, nothing is truly lost. All you have to do is run away... And when you do find what's buried, it doesn't make sense, it's painful, it's a all just traces of memories from a child who grew up in the worst way. I honestly wish we got to do more to actually confront Flowey's trauma and get him to back down, but at the same time maybe that's what happened? After all, after Flowey lures us back and gives his all for that final fight, even he starts to get worn out... to get bored, to realize how useless it is. I wonder if our little exploration was just enough to remind Flowey of all he's been through, and that even trying to revel in the pain of others isn't really worth it now. Of course, he still won't give up. He still wants the souls. But maybe just maybe he knows that wanting the souls isn't really a lust for power, it's a desperation for something, _anything_ new.
I got the neutral ending on my fisrt run, and to be honest unlike the omega flowey fight where i was figthing to defeat flowey, in this one was just doing anything in my power to stop flowey from getting clover soul, run away, try to escape, hope someone else would get there and get the soul to take it to asgore, i never felt so helpless before, flowey being able to load the save destroyed any hope of me being able to win, making that my only hope was to keep going just to buy time, and i know that omega flowey does the same but in there you could at least fight and if keep going you will even get help from the souls, and not only that i knew that clover would die so that made everything pointless, like... how was there a good ending with flowey in control? It relly made me almost give up on playing the game to see the other endings, and boy im glad that flowey just rolls with the pacifist ending, but to be honest that felt out of character after the hell he put me in this fight.
As the soulless root brew, piercing through the hard soil of the depth. It gave me Omega Fowey vibe but with a very mild visual and less irritating. Smooth yet full with depth and characters... some of the sprites/phase really catching, contrast to each other. Hope I could play this game... appreciate the Dev Team I do Patchwooorrrr!

@toleukhanabdulkadir5869 it isnt a TAS if it was they would've specifically mentioned it, and with how they move, it doesnt look like they're using a TAS
the og is meant to throw you off by differentiating from the norm of 16 bit fighting styles, making you more vulnerable, while flowey in this one wants you to fear him more
You know those 360° videos you sometimes see on RU-vid? Imagine this boss fight as one of those, like put on a headset and watch Martlet melt in front of you.
i think the reason why Floweys fight here is more scary is because he absorbed the soul of justice and him being Flowey that trait would invert making curroption causing his attacks to look terrifying
Genocide run : fight a flappy bird that isn't scary at all Neutral run : fight a scary version of flowie The kill nobody run : fight the fox that is some how became a lot stronger from the genocide run and have annoying bullets to dodges and is a little bit scary
